You know what a good example of multiple cultures under one empire would be? The Covenant from halo. I think someone said that in civ you could build the units of your conquered enemy. That would be something reminiscent to the Covenant that would add a unique flavor to eeach race instead of blatant genocide.

The object of a game is to be fun. Not hard. Not simple. Not complex. Fun. Features exist to make the game more fun. And most often, features that sound good on a forum would be disastrous to the fun of the game if they were ever implemented. "Fun" is galciv2, but I would like to see a REAL challenge. I'm not syaing it isn't but it should be like a chess feel like when you have to sacrifice your rook to take out their queen or vice versa. Your queen get

I have to say, I think the tech tree, looks much more organized and easier to know what the hell u are researching. I wish it was in DL. Thats true. Although, they aren't what I would call "Breakthroughs". Whoopdie do! I just got laser V! I don't mean to be negatively sarcastic, but it was fun to research the tech tree. But it has gotten darn repetive now that I've played it more that 100 times. I think you should also have a large and abundant tech tre

When you conquer a civ, the race should remain the same, with mixed in population. Age of Wonders works a bit like that. When you take over a city, the native race remains and they can revolt if you don't leave troops there to keep them down. You can build that race's units or migrate your own race (or a friendly race if I recall correctly). Actually, if you're the korath, you should be able to

It sounds an awful lot like what Master of Orion 3 was aiming for. The problem is that the more complex you make something, the easier it is for that something to go completely off the rails. Don't get me wrong: I want to play the game you're describing! But I don't know if anyone can really pull it off... If stardock did....Galciv would be the ultimate Sci-fi game franchise. Be a whatever you want in the galciv universe. Be a very important figure or

However, many people, like me, keep going back to the Sims because it's fun to just play and "see what happens". It's the only game I play where I'm happy for my characters to have bad things happen to them. Even if I'm playing with a goal in mind (play w/out pausing, 2 broke parents, 6 babies, see if they can survive!), I never feel any interest in saving and restarting. Hmm, depression set in, all the kids were taken away by social services. That was fun.

If the alignment of a civ carried more weight, you could have a whole good/neutral/evil tech tree. You could have a certain branch, but one alignment might view it in another way. EX: Altarians are looking at researching genetics, they see the hope of improving their citizens health and livelyhood. But when the Drengin look at it, they see the ability to create super soldiers and just the sheer fun of making your own abomination of nature! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s

I found this article on creating new species by usining genetic engineering. Mostly half human hybrids. The second page talks about the making of new half human species for our use. Sorry if this is off topic, but I just couldn'y help think of the Drengin vs. Korath when I read this. Every Drengins's Happyplace

Never you mind people. I found the problem: DA never shutdown entirely(or booted up properly) and I had to end the process in ctrl+alt+delete.

If I put ,lets say, a fusion powerplant on a precursor mine, will it get the production bonus? Same question about food distribution enter on farm tiles. Will the research coordination center get a bonus if it gets put on a research tile?

Jagged knife is a mega event. I had all the techs and they stole one of my planets and they get all the techs from the planet they stole it from...so they had all the techs and I was forced to kill them all!

Hive ability was changed since the beta; instead of making factories all build in one turn (but cost full price), it makes them all cost 20 or 25% of the normal price (and thus build in 20-25% of the normal time). They build faster on your homeworld because the civilization capital produces more manufacturing than a run-of-the-mill initial colony does. Ah man! It got NERFED! Thats a bummer. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Sa

Can you create new super abilities? I'm just wondering if I can make a really powerful racial ability. Is this possible: A farm race that has 2x the amount of farming yield with one third of the morale penalty. I have a hunch that these are hard coded and can't be changed.(Or is to complicated to create one)

In the DA beta, there aren't ANY precursor artifacts. Why have they been removed? Have they been removed because of asteroids? because if they have, I would prefer precursor over asteroids. Is this just in the beta DA or have the precursors gone the way of the dodo?

NO! If you slap some cheap laser on the side of a cargoship...and if the enemy has no weapon techs, it doesn't matter what kind of stats a ship has, they have no defense against that ship. So you don't need a cheap fighter!
