Yeah, as people have been saying, the real problem is Regulus. Reg is popular. But he is completely countered by LE and UB, two popular Dark DGs. Rook is a tough DG to play too - he is good if you know what you are doing, but most players really dont play him well. Really if Sedna and Oak were more popular, Pantheon would be a lot closer. Those are two strong DGs that are good at working with each other. Really Reg causes the same thing in custom

Oh yes, there is not question about that. Already I use stats all the time and its annoying to have to alt tab all the time. But there are still many situations in which stats can be very misleading due to either known bugs or the fact that the ranking system used for the ladder still doesnt seem to completely make sense to me. I mean, take StAcK3D_ActR. He is winning over 60% of his games, but some guy who is 0-2 with 2 ragequits is ranked higher than him. I'm
I think that there is an asymmetry in stats: Highly ranked players are rarely terrible players. They are at least decent and usually pretty good. Poorly ranked players (meaning bad rank but at least 50/50 wins) can be either good or bad. I've seen some horrible players around there, but also some very good players. So a highly ranked player is probably decent to good, but a poorly ranked player is not necessarily a poor player. Of course, horribly r
Really the game is pretty well balanced as it is so you dont need to do too much. I'd say: Fix Sedna High Priests bug (effectively a Sedna nerf) Slightly nerf Erebus minion build. Assassin build is fine. Buff QoT Fix TB auto attack bug
What can be done is having it display a "Leave Rating" next to players' names. If somebody drops in too high a percentage of games, it shows up next to their name and everybody knows it. That way you can at least avoid people who consistently ruin games without having to check everybody out in a browser ahead of time.
I just dont see all that many premades intentionally exploiting for stats in Custom Games. So when one does it so obviously I tend to remember so that I dont have to deal with it again if I dont want to.
After 2 people in the game dropped as well...
One of whom was on our team. And our guy dropped ~5 minutes earlier than your guy. We played on. After your guy dropped to even things up, we still played on. And then the host intentionally dropped ~20 minutes later right before your Citadel fell so that the stats didnt record. We both know that we wouldnt have gotten the same curtesy had we lost Having a host intentionally quit so you dont t
Your premade was already on my "probably dont play with" list after the guy from your premade who was hosting rage quit so the stats wouldnt record.
The support has been great. They got a ridiculous number of things in in the last few months. The release is the issue.
there is no point speculating on the past it can't be changed
Yeah, but you can learn from the past. The problem is that the real culprit here isnt SD, but rather GPG. And by all accounts that we have, GPG seems happy with the product and didnt see any problems with what happened in the past. That makes people kind of upset so they vent on the incompleteness of the game.
The reason there is a lot of complaining right now is becasue the community is going through growing pains. Many people have gone through their "casual" play phase where its fine to just jump in a random game and play with random people. They are trying to get to a more competitive phase where they play with an organizaed team against other organized teams. Its kind of natural that people will be wanting to move to that after a few months of play. The problem is that
DG's community is probably less toxic than normal for an online computer game. To be surprised at people who take advantage to improve stats (stealth premades), swear online, and grief people is just plain naive. Its the nature of internet gaming. I'm not sure exactly what Frogboy expected, but I dont think that his expectations for the community were inline with the reality of internet gaming. Part of the recent problem is that some of the toxicity has been getting
No, the problem here is that people assume that the publisher is the same as the developer. If Stardock had developed Demigod it would have been a very different game (for good or for bad). We are debating from completely different axioms.
No. I already acknowledged that many of the problems are GPGs. But, the thing that I quoted was YOU (as in the CEO of SD, not GPG) saying that a multiplayer dominated game is not incomplete if
To illustrate what I mean: Having replays in an update is a perfectly reasonable thing. That replays weren't in v1.0 doesn't mean the game was "incomplete". If I were a reviewer, I might take points off for not having it but it doesn't mean the game "has to have it".
It is probably a good point that its not reasonable to expect developers to miraculously introduce a whole lot of new stuff within months of a game's release. And yes, its probably true that a lot
We do read the forums and put together lists. But as others have pointed out, the attitude on the forum doesn't make one want to participate. As Brad mentioned, the last update was 12 days ago. There is another update in the works to fix stats and other issues. But if you actually want help either contact or you can put together specific constructive feedback with information
He probably didnt deserve it, but he was being stupid enough that I'm not surprised. I'm a pretty disagreeable sort, but I know that you have to turn down the rudeness when confronting somebody who can ban you. Especially somebody who has shown that they dont take kindly to that sort of stuff. You can be disagreeable without being rude. Shadow was being both. Rudeness really shouldnt be a reason for a ban, but if you are rude to the CEO of a company whose forum
Yeah, I dont really agree with the general attitude that competitive people shouldnt get much focus. The big problem with the argument is the numbers bit. DG as it is right now has almost no features to encourage competitive gameplay. It doesnt have clans, it doesnt have team automatch, it doesnt have proper stats etc. It does however have pretty much what you need for casual gameplay. So OF COURSE there arent so many competitive players - the machinery isnt in
I'm fine with buffing them...as long as you nerf something else that Sedna does. Sedna is already one of the best DGs (if not the best), so you cant have overall buffs to her in patches.
I'm really quite happy that Morale seems to be a bit of a secret. A lot of people play things like Erebus minion builds without it. And all I can say is thank God - those builds arent OP'd, but once you get somebody using Morale too...ugh.
double post
Any part of an online game is going to be making and playing with friends. Either people from RL or that you met online. This usually means that you need features to cater to this, and those features are usually what competitive players want (clan stuff including chats and the ability to play as a regular team easily for example). If you have an online game that doesnt allow this easily, I think that you are going to have some struggles in the medium and long term. I
Good grief you guys. Do you have any idea how many updates there have been to Demigod? The last one is barely 2 weeks ago. There actually isn't a if(iPhire)pGame->Crash() function in there.
IMO its not unreasonable to complain if you purchased a game and it doesnt work properly on your computer (through no fault of your own) for a few months. Its not like the guy is spamming the boards with this complaints. He just has an expectatio
Ha. There's no post from the CEO of the company in a little over a week and suddenly the whole enterprise is crashing down?
The problem is that there are several obvious and easily fixable bugs that have not been fixed (despite being known about for months) and not even acknowledged. Some of these can be fixed by somebody in less than 2 minutes (see the Sedna High Priest bug). Its difficult to explain why such things havent been fixed except to s
Things take time. It seems like their aim is to get all those features that should of been in the game, in the game. Along with 1 or 2 bug fixes per update. This makes it take forever for all the bugs to go away, but it does allow them to get new content into the game sooner.
The thing is that some of these bugs dont take time to fix. The Sedna High Priest nonsense should take a minimal amount of time to fix for example. I dont really get why stuff like that
I Use Wards early in the game to get extra damage output. They distract DGs and creeps as well as mislead them to think I am a minion Oak. I am happy with their effectivness at level 2 as they are just their to distract towers and add that small difference in DPS between me and an Assasin Oak.
The point is that going 1 point in Ward and 1 point in SoulPower is going to be a much larger boost to your DPS. I think it would be hard to justify the loss of that DPS b
