Of note, they also do different damage "types" - so bombers will be significantly better against the heavier targets/structures while fighters are much better against other strike craft.
This looks like it's going to be fun to take for a spin - I can't wait! edit - BTW, what's a "skybox" when it comes to Sins?
Heck, I just use the "jump as group" and don't even bother with that much. As an aside, if you use my method and you're down to the last target but you want everyone to line up facing some other direction when you're done (perhaps to jump into the next system), select everyone, hold down , and then right click wherever you want them to form after that ship gets dusted.
Yep, use the scouts. Sometimes they'll still get blown away if they aren't being extremely careful, but they're inexpensive & quick to replace. I personally use 4 or 5 when there's a very large bunch of mines, and they make very short work of them.
Yep - sorry, I was at work so my post was waiting for some time before I finished it [e digicons][/e] Half Price Books is fantastic for games, by the way - a neat trick I learned was that the games with the two-tone price stickers are actually just overstock from warehouses (and therefore new) so you don't need to worry about these issues when you buy those. EDIT - dangit, and now someone else beats me to the punch!! ;)
To answer the original question, I would think the ethical thing to do would be to contact the store and let them know that they gave you money for a product that a customer won't be able to register. If they shrug their shoulders at that point, so be it - just keep that in mind if you plan on buying something from them in the future. Legally speaking, I would think caveat emptor works both ways so you're probably in the clear. As for the other stuff, IANAL nor d
Considering Ironclad has no track record of other games to go by, I can only draw on how other games worked in the past when it came to sequels following an expansion (and of course we don't know if this is going to be a true sequel or a major expansion, but I'm guessing along the same lines as Mr. Sanchez) - Anecdotally speaking, I find that sequels usually keep the "best" of the expansion(s) and rework or cast off the stuff that didn't work as well (from the devs' perspect
Vista doesn't suck despite the bad press, but Windows 7 will be better - it's pretty much the same under the hood with a few tweaks and compatibility fixes thrown in. And yes, Impulse will run without issue on 64-bit Vista.
//puts on old-man-who-is-in-no-way-affiliated-with-either-company cap Let's settle down, folks. Vitriol doesn't do anyone any good. Anytime a new expansion or product gets close to release, people will naturally think of some great ideas that would be wonderful if they were included. While it's likely that the feature set is decided on at this point, it's even more likely that whatever features get introduced into beta will be subject to heavy revision once th
I think his complaining is perfectly appropriate, although as you said that's the way it is with just about any RTS nowadays and so it shouldn't just be directed at the Sins crowd. Those multiplayer setups simply don't cater to the casual crowd. Some people like it that way (non-casual players, for the most part), but most others (the more casual group) don't and that's why it's a problem with no easy solution. You will ALWAYS have "smurfs," "spammers," and wh
If you guys haven't checked out the General forum, the issue of further products has been addressed by devs and pubs alike - yes, more is to come. The reason the third was cancelled was because they wound up wanting to add so much more stuff that it really didn't fit the "micro" expansion mold. Oh, and none of us mere mortals/players know when that will be released, what the new stuff will be, nor whether it's going to be a full expansion or perhaps a sequel. </
Quoting Allegiance86, reply 105 Hopefully there is a way for each faction to foil any espionage attempts. Maybe a Tech Tree option to send out coded messages that give off false info misleading the other Factions. Atleast for the TEC it could give misguided readings on their PSIDAR showing incoming enemy at a location where there isnt an actual enemy fleet. Oh. My. God. I love this idea.
I won't be preordering ... until later this evening, but it looks good! Quite frankly, the better pirates is very nice, but the missions will give me more of a reason to play with unlocked teams on single player. I didn't really care for the mission system too much before because it wasn't equitable, but I think this will make a world of difference and give the game some new legs. Add the Envoy cruisers in for good measure, and you're looking at pretty darn good micro
Assuming they do show up under "my games," I would suggest uninstalling your current install on your PC and downloading/installing directly from Impulse. First install Sins, update it with the most recent patch, then install Entrenchment, then update that. I've never used the desktop option to install, as it's really an unnecessary step. Please note, you'll want to select your install location from Impulse preferences before you begin the process.
I agree that the voice sounds like his, but I'm pretty sure he'd be in the credits and the game would be in his bio (like Tachyon is). Yeah, I also did a double-take when I first heard it. The voice overs in this game a done pretty well imo, and the more the merrier. Funny thing is, I remember back in the day contemplating whether a sound card would really improve my enjoyment of a game enough to make the investment worthwhile. Mind you, this was back when high-fidel
That sounds like it's exactly the problem. I would have your friend contact with your username and email address (along with his) to straighten it out. I don't think you'll be able to do it on your own, as you could effectively steal another person's game if that was the case. In the future, I believe there's an option at checkout to purchase it as a gift that can be selected.
So? Campaigns are meant for SP not MP. Thats a classical assumption, consider how Left4Dead broke that mould why shouldn't another genre?
"Another" would be fine. This game in particular would be pretty brutal given the typical length, as was already brought up. That said, I would have a blast doing a co-op with my kid in some campaign while side-by-side at our respective PC's, so I would fu
Yeah, that's probably the best (and cheapest) bet. If you do find you're still having problems, you cn probably isolate the issue by lowering all the graphic settings while keeping the resolution the same just for a test game. If the issue still occurs (although it might take a bit longer to do so), you may have a graphics card or heat issue.
And lighten up, Francis! //Sgt Hulka That is a weird one. You didn't happen to patch your game while the installation on the other PC isn't patched, by any chance? I would think the different versions trying to work together could cause something like that, but I don't know - just taking a stab in the dark.
I'd doubt they would throw a campaign into Diplomacy, so don't get your hopes up for that one. Most campaigns have fmv and other additional expenses (voicework, et al) that would usually require a pretty hefty investment, making it perfect for a true expansion/sequel that would already have the overhead budgeted for and any outsourced talent readily available. That said, if they did throw it in, I think they'd be giving me the best $10 investment I've made in a long whil
Heck, I just hope nobody at Stardock (or anywhere, but considering where I'm posting this ...) picked up the h1n1 virus that was going around there (seriously). That was scary to see on the website, but I suppose it's just a matter of time until we see that more often. //somewhat OT conversation I am quite curious to see what comes of Diplomacy, as I've never experienced a game that had a specific addon for something like that. The rumors I've heard versus
Yep, it either a full expansion after Diplomacy or a true sequel (which I think is most likely, IMO).
it is very dissappointing if dipomocay has not been added, but instead just another tech tree. But I await official confirmation.
From the little that's known of the content, there will at least be: ambassador-type vessels, a new tech tree, multiple types of treaties, and new screens to show it all. I'm not sure if where that falls along your axiom of diplomacy or a new tech tree. While I h
And with that news from PAX, I can finally be put at ease. Back to wiping out civilizations for the time being, whil I'm looking forward to some diplomacy with them in the future ... before backstabbing and wiping them out all over again [e digicons][/e]
