Eriksons magic is that in some battles, even with mages on both sides, there's practically no magic, and all the fighting is done by soldiers. The reason for this, is that be mages are cancelling each other out, neither side able to do anything because the others will cancel you. It makes for balancing of armies, or even for armies dependant of pure mages , although I doubt occupation should be able to be done without soldiers.
Mages canceling spells from other mages wo
NWN was certainly driven by its multiplayer, as the single player game was very weak. BG technically had MP capability, but it was not known for that, and the mods created for that game were driven by the SP game. And your "people don't make mods for Single Player Games" assertion is not supported by the evidence. One only has to take into account the daunting list of mods made for Oblivion
It will all come down to the quality of animations, how detailed and fluid they are and if the unit is upgraded(class or spell wise) will it have new upgraded animation and other effects concurrent with every upgrade, like lighting and such(Diablo 3 is a good example here). Animation is different from graphics, for example Resident Evil 4 has poor graphics for today's standards but it has such excellent animations that surpass even today's
I know many of us are eagerly awaiting to hear more news about Elemental so I thought I'd organize a list of spells which will probably be in the game based on screenshots. Feel free to allow your imagination to provide spell descriptions. Hope this provides fans with a temporary drug fix until the alpha/beta testing begins: 1) Rain of Fire 2) Shield of Life 3) Lingering Death ========Below are
Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed to be one of the lucky alphas, but usually I have bad luck with lotteries.
Congrats to Stardock

I recommend the AgeofWonders:ShadowMagic with the 1.4 patch and also playing Dominions_3 with 3.23b patch.
I have mixed feelings about DA:O ... I do like how it's more tactical like BouldersGate, but sad there's no multiplayer such as what was available in BouldersGate or Neverwinter Nights. The majority of content creation comes from the multiplayer community... so while there's a better a game editor it will never come near providing as much user made content, areas, and modules as what we see with Neverwinter Nights. I'll probabl

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure the developers will still provide an occasional screenshot and progress updates. Obviously any forum members on the Alpha testing will be silent.
It's not that it is just cartoonish, but that it's extremely minimalistic.
The graphics haven't even reached alpha testing and you're claiming their bad? That's like telling an artist the painting is terrible when he's only slapped a few foundation colors.
Stardock is privately owned (mostly by Brad).
If Stardock is interested in extra money then it could easily allow only 10% of the total shares to be traded. At least that's what I heard UPS has done.

That's still leaving a few months worth of liquid assets.
Back in 2001 I used my 10K for a down payment
And yes the size of the chessboard affects strategic options, I can't disagree with that. But I'd also argue that a 10,000x10,000 chessboard wouldn't really make chase more strategic than a 1000x1000 chessboard, for the same reason that increasing the size of a map in a game like Elemental wouldn't make it more strategic. The human mind is not capable of dealing with such vast quantities of information. With a small board an e

The majority of information I've heard on Windows 7 has been good news, unlike the Windows Vista. I will most likely setup one or more of my systems to triple boot to include Windows 7 sometime this year.
Comparing a game like Elemental to Chess is a bad analogy.
Of course Chess provides significantly less options than Elemental, but for you I always have to use the most basic comparisons available. These are both TBS games and the main differences is one has only two players, fixed amount of units, no diplomacy, no magic, no structures, etc., etc., which are all extra variables which reduc
