Actually realistic is a good reason because the more unrealistic qualities the less gamers are drawn into the gameplay. Realtiy is not balanced. A game must be balanced. The pretty standard way to do this is put mechanics into games because they are fair, then make them realistic through cosmetics, text, and lore.
I wasn't talking about gameplay balance... if you are adding the variable of gameplay bala

Not everyone had access to assassinations as well. I'm also praying the limit is somewhere in the 20s. The option for more than 20 would be great as well. Perhaps gamers can specify any number they wish and the game can provide a warning that it's not supported, but still allow the gamer to continue. This feature would allow a high number of players to be tested and eventually made more stable and/or only available for those with powerful systems.
Actually, my favorite units in fantasy games tend to be the more exotic ones. Why use werewolves and vampires and all when I can play with them in countless games, watch them in even more movies, read about them in a billion books... Just to give an example, my favorite unit in HoMM V is the Rakshasa Raja - I've never seen one of those in a game, book or movie. I'm well aware that Nival didn't invent them (they're based on a hindu myth), but they aren't overused and stale -

Well we have some questions answered... I feel bad that some people in the community asked questions which were previously answered and/or just plain stupid.
You have a point, but I feel the creative industry (especially in fantasy) has gotten a bit..... lazy in that they keep re-using "stat blocks" like undead+hurt by holy attacks+drains life. In any event, even if they are not included in the vanilla release (and I doubt that they will be), the modders will be crea
The biggest part I hate in games I love is how developers drop a popular game and move towards developing a completely different game where they have zero experience. It seems most games reach about three sequels and then have their evolution frozen in history. A few rare cases the ownership rights have fallen into the hands of another gaming company, but they usually screw up the next version by adding a BUNCH of their own ideas. T
Undead, werewolves, goblins, etc. They seem to be in every fantasy game nowadays. Because everyone assumes that games will follow Dungeons and Dragons lore. These ideas of what dark fantasy entails are so embedded in some people's minds that they cannot consider a game without them. Tolkein's worlds did not have all of these things. No zombies, goblins (goblins and orcs were the same race), vampires, werewolves etc. The D&D model has almost every fantasy race

I believe an alliance between the AI's is the better solution and requires less work for the developers. A merger between two or more nations comes with problems which include: 1) This merger means one nation will have two channellers... I highly doubt this would be supported in the game. I also doubt Stardock would include extra programming to decide which of the two channellers gets downgraded to a hero status and then which city remains as the capital and then what ha
