Considering the game will have battles at different fort type structures (aka=sieges), which frequently do last multiple days... I see no reason why battles on the map must be one day only. Also take into consideration the enormous 64_bit maps where armies will be massively larger by middle and late game. Also having a method for battles taking multiple days(aka=turns) opens more gameplay strategies such as assassinations between turns on enemy command
Players can win the game in a variety of ways including achieving the spell of making, completing the quest of mastery, diplomatic victory as well as the traditional military conquest means of victory.
I don't think any one single action such as a single spell should allow a victory. On a very large map a smaller nation can instantly end a good challenging game... there's no clues to even identify this threat. At least with a diplomacy vi
So far it's going very well...this week it's all about getting those load times down. It only takes 5s to make a random map, but up to 1m40s to get into the game. We've gotten it down to 24s on my machine, I we feel there's still improvements that can be done. Multi-Layered... let's take even a deeper look at possible strategic elements if the battlefield could even be more multi-layered. I'm talking about not only ground units, but flying units and burrowing units. The amount of strategic options would triple if a group of flying units could exist on the battlefield above a group of ground units and burrowing units under the ground units or slightly in front. There could be weapons and spells specific fo

I have a personal hatred for the DemiGod game since not only did it delay the Elemental beta planned for June, but it probably damaged considerations for multiplayer options. From what I can tell Elemental was under development before DemiGod, but was pushed aside while DemiGod development took center stage! [e digicons]>:([/e]

I've never even heard of a TBS game where two players were evenly matched with troops, terrain, resources, etc., etc., and then both players ran out of resources evenly matched causing

I'm guessing the green wall is definitely organic in nature. The white structure in the top left is some type of tomb or dungeon. Not sure why so many trees are near the city walls since strategically this would only help enemy attacks/sieges unless on the battlefield they are non-existent OR non-obstacle and unusable obstacle. Perhaps the trees support the organic wall? The sun like halo... most likely either the current sea

I thought Age0fWonders provided a good solution by offering both the tactical option and the auto-resolve. I recall Stardock has already commented the same will be for Elemental, but I can't find the statement. This solution I think is best because some battles need the tactical guidance and others such as 1 Dragon verses a single unequipped Scout don't need the tactical guidance.

Well the main page says Beta testing will still be in June, but according to the Dev Journals it was pushed back. I know GameSpot.com still has Elemental:WoM listed as an RTS game as well.

I was under the impression the Essence is finite, however magic shards spread across the realm can be found to provide new Essence. Ideally the game would provide at least two options... one being finite amount and the other allowing a regeneration of essence over time... perhaps a slider by how much it regenerates as well.
