One thing i still do not understand, is having tech trading make the game play harder or easier. I played my first game of TA today, on normal difficulty level, immense galaxy size, played as the korath, with no tech trading, but tech stealing allowed, very fast researched, and everything being abundant. Oh yeah, there was blind exploration added. the game was soooooo slow. I mean, i did not get a war declaration until like 3 or 4 years of game years. And i do not understa

If he is referring to getting something like Dumprep.exe on the process explorer, then i get it sometimes when i am playing galciv2, and some other times when i am running other applications not limiting to galciv2. I assume that is a memory dump or leaks or whatever it is call. Usually, my machine freezes for a bit, then i close whatever apps i am running. but also, enabling mutl threading for Galciv 2 wlll get the comoputer to heat up fast, especially on a laptop, since it will be c

If you are talking about the dread lords campaign, then, just keep playing, and give your allied AI players your research tech, they will finish the mission for you. Don't worry about not able to colonize, when you play against the dread lords in 3rd or 4th mission, you should be able to do it because it is on a bigger map.

I just went to the link Hollow Man gave regarding a revision in DRM policy for spore. The dev posted there said there will be some changes. In the end, it saids that if we think spore's DRM policy is harsh, then it saids: "Oh yes, and if you think EA's DRM is harsh wait until you see the new DRM that Blizzard is working on for S2 and D3...." Ah, what is this all about?? Does anyone know??? Wait, is this have something to do with after the fact that blizzard merged with Activision.

Are there other copy protection schemes besides SecurROm, starforce, or the one SD advocates. I just checked the Mass Effect forums, that thread has now 97 pages of posting on it, and majority of the posters are complaining to no end and are telling EA they will either not buy the game, or wait for the game to come out and get download a crack for the exe even though if they did purchased the game. And, of course, many of them are of the opinion that EA's effort will fail to deter piracy, beca

"You cannot hold a concert, nor hold a play. One cannot handle education. We pay for that. And... why should it make a difference anyways?" LordZarth, i disagreed with your universal generalization that we pay for our education. It depends on where one lives, in Canada, the Canada, education is subsidized by the Canadian government, and in some European countries, education is free because the public pays taxes to subsidized education. if you want to get things going faster, try getting advanced computing, then all the mini techs, and then do some of the morale and economic research techs. After that, go on other brancesh and finish the morale and economic techs as time goes on. but if you get all the mini techs going, you will see how fast planetary invasions can be researched compare to at the beginning, or say some of the other weapons research.

I did not know there is a difference between terror stars and Death stars. I thought terror stars are more destructive. the better solution is to build terror stars right beside the star you intend to destroy. this can be done by escorting a large fleet of constructors to the designated star system. besides, if you upgrade all the modoules at once, then you get your terror star in one turn and, the next turn, you get to blow up the star.

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention, if you just concentrate on research and neglect too much of your economy, then when the AI starts to declare war, you are screwed, because you might be on a tight budget and can not beuild ships fast enough.

economy will help with research, you don't need that many labs actually. just one or two on each planet, but if you have a postive economy going with high morale for each planet, it is easier to swtich focus on research on each planet, because morale might drop back a bit, but you can always switch back to social production later on.

"If the US falls then the whole world falls with it." Ah wrong, if the US falls, other will be happy to take its place, but then, will do a worse job or a better job as the next super power. But if it does not fall, it has certainly wane in its influence after it told everyone the UN wss useless and just went its own way in the invasion of iraq. After the invasion was over and iraq is not going to be a easy to tame place because it royally botched up the occupation, it invites the UN

if you guys compare country with a parliament system, be it a european or a UK based system comparing to that of a US presidental system, the ones with a parliament system are more efficient, but lacks slightly with checks and balances in comparison with a presidental system in the US. a good reference is two volumes on call Global convergence of Democracy and Global divergence of Democracy, both edit by Larry Diamond. The balance between having more checks and balances or more efficiency is n

yeah, what practice???? PC Gamer mentioned other companies doing the same as Wild Tangent. But seriously, i look at the website for Wild Tangent, it never talked about the bandwidth that is going to be incurring on their users, i mean, playing WoW costs bandwidth usage for users, and i am not sure how heavy the bandwidth it is for WoW, regardless, what about for something like Wild Tangent's game console, is it going to be bandwidth heavy too. Besides, there is no guarantee that there will b

I have a question about PC game consoles. I read in this issue of PC gamer that Wild Tangent is having a game console program installed on each new laptop and brand name pc shipping out. Supposedly, it allows people to play game for free while there are advertisment between game sessions, while there will be no advertisments during in game sessions. I read that WildTangent already signed on 2 big game publishers/developers. I forgot if it was developers or publishers. But

I am chinese myself, but really, i don't want to see china being the next super power. There is something that westerners forgets about us asians. That is, we are very slow to forgive, never forgets past wrongs, and oblivious to what other people are doing in their own households. What does this translate to, well, if there were any humiliation done to a nation by another one, it will make sure the other one pays its due. After all losing face is not something that we asians takes lightly. I

i don't think U.S is going to be going away as a superpower anytime soon, and i don't think china wants it either. Well...not directly or intentionally. It is true that they are the world's factory, other than that, they want to tend to themselves. It is also true that they like to have as much money as the U.S, but then.they don't want to be as noisy and stick their noses in other country's internal matter. That might be the only good thing about chin, if it does become a super power, it won'

there is an announcement by the devs. " Dear gamer, Due to financial constraints, all production at Pollux Gamelabs has currently been halted. At present we do not know what exact implications this will have for future support of Lost Empire: Immortals. The support mail is being read but at the moment we cannot guarantee a 100% response rate nor response time. The best place to start in case of a problem is reading the stickies at the Techni

Benji_online is right if people stop taking the literal interpretaton of Gensis. Only that God created the universe before ten to the minus 42 seconds. And if you don't ask how he did it and just observe like a scientists, then nothing gets contradicted. Evolution well...if it did happens as it claimed, than it does not contradicted that God is responsbile for the creation of mankind. Well as Einstein saids, God does not play dice. But unfortunately he does, and when he does, he is still re

but for Sins, you can have smaller multiplayer map. And besides, the game is only out for less than 2 months. There will be an expansion coming out which includes a campaign. How popular was starcraft after 2 months which it came out?? Blizzard patched that game like 15 times in a few years period. So we should all wait before we give our verdict. Besides, SC 1 can't compete with Sins in scope.
