I don't even have 32 AI factions or friends to play it with, LOL.
Get DOMINIONS III then as there is a mod for it where you can have 64 ai opponents. It is ruthless and awesome fun.

Well since MP is so loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow on their important list I wouldn't get all worked up about MP being very good out of the box. They didn't even give you MP guys anything to look at or test. hahahahahah That should tell you how important MP and balance for it is. I would imagine many patches and fixes will be done for SP before MP is even looked at again.
Quoting Neil Banfield, reply 2 Personally I wouldn't expect massive changes from the 3c beta to the RTM build in terms of performance. There will be some changes obviously and if there is one root issue causing performance to be slow for you then it is possible it will be found and fixed prior to RTM. I don't know the min spec offhand for elemental, but I would have thought your system is probably n

If there were more games at the retail level that you can only get online those numbers wouldn't be so skewed. It's just propoganda media to get more people to buy online instead of in stores so publishers can save even more money and rip us off even more since there are still retail outlets where you can return crappy or defective software.

I just hope everyone remembers how long it took GC2 to get where it is today. Out of the box it was no fantastic game to rave about. It took many many patches and two expansions and patches upon those expansions to get it to the classic it is today. So, don't go expecting Elemental to be GC2 finished product....I certainly don't. I just expect Brad et al to continue to work hard on improving it over time and give us all the game we hope it will BECOME. Of course my main concern will a
This is pretty obnoxious. If you feel the game is being rushed (just like people thought GalCiv was rushed and Sins was rushed and so on) then feel free to wait until February to play it.
Glad you told em Brad I'm with you how dare them complain about rushing this game. They have no clue about programming it or how the inhouse development is going. I strongly agree though if they don't like it don't play it till Feb or never. You and ME we don't care do we? ;)<
@Juvantei i agree with you the pacing is too slow and the end turn button is nearly pointless. in each turn the player should make important decisions. i liked the pacing in heroes 3 the most, buildings were build instantly once got the recourses (as were troops), the armies had a decent movement heroes had big impacts on battle as did they have skills ... (if only we could have build cities, recourse camps etc.)<br /
[This is somewhat similar to the AoW combat system.]
Oh gawd please do not use anything from the AOW combat system that was the worst game ever for me. Now you might want to look at a game called Magic Realm by AH. Weapon speed in that game determined who hit first not how many times they could strike. Along with that it determined if someone could evade the strike like if the weapon speed was 3 and the run speed of the character it was hitting was 4

I'm tired of these wiz through to the high level buildings and forget the beginning and middle game. Keep it SLOWWWW and make getting to the high end buildings and creatures take a longgggggggggggg time.
When I play medieval II Total War. Let's say I pick Scotland. Random Maps always. Retreating or Withdrawing options for BOTH sides ALWAYS This isn't suppose to be a chess game so I don't agree with Winner take all. The problem with retreats or withdraws is usually the ai gets into a ping pong match when it can't ever win. Something would have to be coded into the ai to retreat several squares before looking for new enemies to attack after a retreat or withdraw or to at least join up with another stack to try again.
For starting play, you should be able to pick a limited number of spells based on a random group of common spells (and a couple uncommon for higher Int or whatever) according to your spellbooks.
NO! No picking and choosing at the start this is what was a major problem with MOM as you found spells you liked better than others and then one began picking those same ones every game. Don't give us a choice let NATURE make the choice, let FATE make the choic

The only real important thing in this game is that the ai is challenging and plays the game well. Master of Magic is a prime example of a game WITHOUT balance and has lasted the test of time as the greatest Fantasy strategy wargame of all times. It had NO MULTIPLAYER feature and that is what allowed it to be as great as it is. Multiplayers ruin games they do not make them better. When you start adding more and more human elements to games that is when they start to fall apart and you get your

As far as tactical battles in multiplayer I'd leave that OUT right now. I know from experience the majority don't like to sit there while two other guys fight out their battles tactically. Multiplayer should be fast and autocalc would be best for it. When you have 14 other players in a 15 player game everybody wants it to stream along. So, /not signed for tactical battles in multiplayer right now. Perhaps an ARENA mode ladder type structure tactical battles with a point buy system might do la

I'm not fearing city spam so much now as I am fearing city GLUT (spreading out so far all the cities are touching one another or nearly.) What's the use of pioneers when all you need to do is expand your borders?

I don't think the AI is actually in the game yet. Since there are not tactical battles yet they are just pretty much letting us play the strategic game and warring at our discretion not the ai's. To get a feel of how everything works without the stress of a stack of dragons coming at you by turn 200.
