Imagine me saying something really obnoxious about the OP. Wheeloffire, I can't believe that even you would say such... oh, wait, that was just my imagination acting up... irishguy, your frustration is understandable, but do you really think tha

Drath not Neutral. Drath GOOD! Drath no like puny Neutral. Drath strong! Drath smash! /Well, that's my impression of the Drath voice, anyway... They are Good aligned, not Neutral.

it would probably involve getting rid of the whole idea of using multiple constructors to build a Starbase That would be nice. I would actually start building starbase types other than resource mines again. I sometimes build econ starbases in middle-size or smaller games; but the larger maps need so much micromanagement already, influence bases t

I do use hops, albeit sparingly. Some commercial breweries may not. Sometimes you will find a beer made with gruit , a blend of herbs people used before hops became the standard, and that's still considered beer. I don't drink it at room temperature, but it's best around 55-60° F; cellar/cave temperature as opposed to fridge temperature.

I make a batch of coffee and/or espresso stout at least once a year, and I have to say it goes well with chocolate cake. Some people claim that stout is not actually beer, but this is wrong. It's probably a rumor started by a Drengin spy.

The only thing to do at this point is to save and restart. After that, your improvements will behave normally. This has been widely reported for months; it never went away with 1.3. At least now that the load/save penalty is a thing of the past, it's not so much of a dilemma whether or not to save and reload.

Bad analogy! Since when do oil rigs receive all sorts of military upgrades? If you broaden the analogy to modern warfare in general, though, it makes sense. When was the last time any country built a coastal fortress? By the end of the 19th Century, increasing seapower had rendered the concept obsolete. Nowdays if you're worried about naval invas

Hmm. Was your flagship in that spot before the AI fleets started accreting there? If so, perhaps they are reacting to its presence in AI territory? Or, maybe deep down they all know that taking on your unarmed flagship is the only way they'll win a battle after you attack them, and they're all salivating at the chance to be the one to take it out?

Yay mods, thank you for deleting my duplicates; the last thing I ever wanted to do was start another rant... To better state what I was originally trying to say: Every game forum out there is home to a contingent of malcontents. Every time something changes in the game, that contingent goes ape**** and flings poo all over the forum. Then after a couple of weeks they learn to adapt to the changes like everyone else and they go back to normal. Our contingent all seem to

9Continuing here because the whole thing was too long and choked the server) Now I see a post from frogboy in another thread that there will never be another game with a metaverse component (can't find the thread at the moment, but I read it last night). Presumably because of the amount of complaints that have been posted, I'm not 100% sure. Has the gross immaturity of about ten or fifteen people really generated that much hostility toward the entire metaverse concept? Or

Why are people that enjoy competing in the metaverse vilified so? I've noticed the same phenomenon. To the point that I have refrained entirely from posting my opinions in some threads. A few months back, there was a whole lot of whining and biatching from metaverse players who were unhappy about how their scores were being calcul

overlapping between terrain portrit and improvement portrait It sounds like you're talking about the portrait effect for partially completed improvements. When you first queue up a building on a tile, the portrait for that tile shows the building with a low opacity superimposed over the terrain portrait. When the building is complete, the portrai

Vonage makes stupid commercials. Woo-hoo, woo-hoo-hoo! Wow, I'm sure not as dumb as that guy who jumped in the alligator pit with raw steak stuffed in his lederhosen, so I'm going to buy that phone. ?!??!

Yeah, but there's more to it. For instance, CE purchasers get the option to type values into the $ and influence amount boxes in the tech trade dialogs. That one humble feature has probably saved me from contracting carpal tunnel syndrome since I started playing this game.

is there any chance of getting a 300% approval tile An even better addition, IMNSHO, would be a super project (1 per race) that gives a 1000% morale bonus to the planet it's built on, enabling you to create at least one high-pop Paradise planet. "Welcome to Virtual Wally World!"

1 farm, 1 econ-building, 1 morale-building On PQ 3, 4, and 5 planets, you can never have more than 5 billion people. Building farms won't help, as the population simply stops growing before it hits 5 billion. As a result, morale buildings are unnecessary on those planets, too. Depending on what I need at the time I colonize/conquer these

If anyone has any ideas about adding an age cap or otherwise adjusting the formulas, let me know (with specifics, ideally, not just "this needs changed") I wouldn't say "needs [to be] changed", but if you want to keep scores at a minimum .65 value, you could do something like this: DisplayScore = Max((IntTotalSco

Well, I certainly like my rankings better this way, though I may change my mind as scores start to disappear after 6 months. Did you try this without dropping the 6+ month-old scores? I would be interested to see a straight comparison of the same scores calculated in the Metaverse and the alternate Metaverse.

I've had the game for about 7 months. I have no clue how many hours that comprises, as I tend to fill odd hours with gaming rather than having any kind of schedule. Sometimes an hour a week, up to one full three-day weekend when the wife and baby were out of town. I will say that I haven't played anything else since I got GCII, except to load up an FPS because I just feel like mindlessly blowing stuff up. And then two weeks ago I loaded up an old RTW savegame out of curiosity; one look
