Not quite sure how fleets in orbit around a planet work. I make a fleet, put it in orbit, and in the orbit view it shows each ship individually? And so if I want to launch the fleet I have to launch each ship individually and then recreate the fleet? Also the AI often doesn't put it's orbit ships into fleets (even at harder difficulty levels) so they get destroyed one at a time? Is this just me or has anyone else noticed this? Suggestion: for each fleet in orbit around a planet, make

I hate the damn filthy Arceans
I recommend taking out redundant parts of the screen like the "design a new ship class bar" so as to make more space for other things.
Change the game name to "Brad Wardell's Galactic Civilizations 2" !
Why not be able to play on maps that wrap around? So when you hit the border on one side you come out on the other side. I know the game FreeCiv has this option. I think it would be great. Just ask the smiley faces--> <img src="smiles/Congrats.gif" bo
Hello is there a way to make it so the camera doesn't move when you click on a ship? It doesn't move when you click on a star or planet so it should sorta be the same I think. If not could you please consider this as an option? Thanks
I was thinking the Nebula background would give enough contrast, maybe they have tried this already and it doesn't work though.
Hah I just went to the IRC channel to suggest this and found out about it. Well it's definately better. I was gonna say I couldn't believe they didn't think about it. Well I'll post more "suggestions" as I think of them. Hey do you know if there's a way to change the fog color to maybe black?
Please consider this idea in a future patch. Simply an option to adjust at which level the 3d models turn to icons. The game is very playable on my 1ghz Athlon, 512 Ram Geforce 3 when I am zoomed out to the icon level. But just 1 zoom level closer and the game crawls to 3 - 6 fps, and heres the thing, the ships at that zoom level are too small to see anyway. So why not be able to change the zoom level at which ships turn to icons

Well I dont think you have anything to lose really even if you get defeated unless you are using GalCiv2 as a sort of russian roulette thing which I would never recommend
Hello I wanted to ask if GalCiv2s engine does polygon scaling. As in the farther back you zoom out the less polygons are rendered for objects? I've noticed even on tiny galaxies very low fps if you zoom out almost to the point where the objects become icons. Yet at this zoom level the objects are so small they lose their features anyway, so why does it have to struggle so hard to render? I have a pretty slow computer (1ghz Athlon 512 ram Geforce 3) and
