"Look at the release version, pretty good, would still room for improvement. Look ta version 1.1, the first major patch. People will see the huge difference and improvements." "Individuals are smart, people can act very stupidly" Just a quote I remember while discussing mob mentality. Having two different demos would, more than likel

This is difficult during the early game because you need to spend on growth, but have no tax base. By mid game you have a tax base and things get easier. The entertainment buildings are a must. There are other strategies, but as a general rule, 1:1 ratio between entertainment buildings and farms (ie: a farm on a 300% bonus tile would still need 3 entertainment buildings). Morale resource starbases are another way to help keep people happy as are the various trade goods that become

im not in the least bit suggesting that units on guard should TAKE action and launch an auto attack seems to me they are the 'cops' , and there for it would fall to them to take actions that the 'cops' would take,

To restate...making sure I undertand your complaint: 1) 1.0x didn't give as many planets as you'd like with the Abundant setting. 2) The Betas gave you a lot more. 3) 1.1 release is giving you more than 1.0x, but less than the Betas. You see, "Beta" in programming means "test." That is why they warn you the game may be unstable, etc if you install it. As a "test" version they will also evaluate game play tweaks and adjustments like the number of habitable planet

This forum has a fair bit of complaints and notices of problems, but that's primarily because if the game works a person isn't spending time on the forum extolling the virtues of Stardock. They are busy playing. Also, the game just went through 4 (5?) public betas between the original and the patch. There's tons of bug reports, etc stemming f

They've started a special thread just for this problem: Link It is odd that I never encountered this in any of the 1.1 betas, but did encounter it within the first 3 hours of playing 1.1 final.

If they really had 60,000 population (60 billion IIRC?) then even with the best invastion tech it would probably take several attempts to conquer the planet. The first invasion tect gives you 500 (500,000?) troops per module. The Advanced tech gives you 1000 per module, or 1 billion troops per module and they fight a lot better with more invasion options. The Shock Troops tech, even more so. However, if the planet really did have just 60,000 and your 500,000 lost, then th

Such a person is often accused of flaming as a result of finding fault with minor details of other participants' messages, and often only in opinions with which the accused grammar nazi disagrees. And then, there's the bit immediately following the "derogatory" part: <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-B

But instead, I notice my planet jumps to a class 13! When I go in and see, lo and behold i have 13 usable tiles??? the PQ of a planet is the number of usable tiles. before any soil enhancement, habitat improvement, or terraforming that planet was a pq10 world. After all of those it could easily jump to 15...depending on the planet. Choosing

Playing through the beta evolution has "fixed" my starting strategy as well. Absolutely needing a population....or rather needing to moderate your expansion to maintain your population is an effective throttle. I live and die by those 2500bc anomalies during the beginning game. If it weren't for them I'd probably go bankrupt. I always play on gigantic maps so I'm not sure if you can notice this on smaller maps.... the AI's never build a second survey ship. I'll try to researc

if you didn't care, you wouldn't post in this thread at all. Did you even read the post? Did the presence of those specific quotes get completely ignored by you? The game text doesn't matter, I'm not going to rant about how I demand poor syntax. I will try and explain my position to the grammar Nazis, I will try and talk s

Just dont try and use it for Metaverse Games or you may get a Zero score as Stardock dont allow it YET That's the main reason I'm only recently starting a metaverse game. I have to admit after a month of using the mod, ship design just isn't the same in metaverse.

Actually I survived long enough to research miniturization heavily and the logistics branch to the point I had one more ship in my fleet than the DL did. I did my best to attack first and I was able to steal one tech from sneaking a transport onto one of their newly conquered planets.... it was one of the more powerful torpedoes. I remember thinking it was odd because the DL wasn't using missle based weapons. But I didn't complain.
