It's been a while, but I kept 2 military starbases in range of each other and had a rotating set of fleets (so they could repair). If I could catch the DL in the open (but within the double bonus of the SB's) that's what I would do, but a fail safe would be to keep a fleet parked on top of a starbase. The DL always attacked the ships and the ships could attack with the double bonuses ( and defend from double bonuses). I simply wore the DL down until i had enough of a breather to go on the a

Actually it is VERY easy to get it to replace all existing structures... all you have to do is add this line to "PlanetImprovements.xml" within your NLC entry: "{S_UpgradeTarget}Discovery Sphere{/S_UpgradeTarget}" replacing "{" with " ". This will allow you and the AI to automatically upgrade any research building into NCLs

If you try to fix the upgrade path don't forget to stop the other upgrade paths or you run into a real conflict when the tile tries to upgrade to both the invention matrix and nlc at the same time. That is probably why it was done that way in the first place. They are two different branches. <a href="https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=346&AID

Only stupid american retards speak that way about french, like they speak about most of others cultures. During my expoits abroad this is the very reason I left the groups and went out on my own. One of the most memorable evenings in 4 years of military service was sitting at a bar in Marseille, drinking beer after beer and discussing politics

If they were Precurser Rangers it's a random event. Sometimes they show up in ones and twos and other times they show up by the dozens. Usually there is some form of announcement though.

Does the AI know I supported its enemy with ships and technology? It's a new thing for 1.1. To see it for your self, give a ship away, but have it in sensor range of another of your ships. Click on the gift ship and read the info box. Under the original ship name it will have the "name brand" of the manufacturer, ie: your civilization name.

OMG. Now That's A Review!!!!! ...worth almost five hundred dollars? You may be surprised to learn that, in my opinion, no it's not. It's so boring, frustrating, and ugly that when it eventually BLOWS UP YOUR MONITOR you might actually be a little relieved. Until you realize that all your money is gone and Red Storm has ruined Christmas. Seriously, nice job

Seeing distance able to move that turn? No. However, clicking on your ship, or an AI's ship, will show you how many movment points they have. If your map has grids activated, it's pretty simple to count since most AI ships have movement points less than 10. If you click on one of your ships and zoom out, you will see a white outline that shows the range limit of your ship, but there is no auto calculation. One possible work around is to click on one of your ships that has alrea

From the point of view of computer AI, i can see why they shouldn't value diplomacy techs too highly, because after all I'm not going to give the AI a better deal just because it is 'majestic'. But it seems necessary as a defensive measure, to prevent humans from taking them for a ride. Tech trading is the most obvious area for exploitation and this has being ad

Huh? I thought stellar cartography only shows the stars, not the planets. In every game I've played, once I researched stellar cartography, the mini-map showed the location of all stars and planets. I still have to go to a system to find out if the planets are habitable (the AI does as well).

The AI must get a head start Nope. Nope. Nope. At the risk of feeding a dead horse thread, the AI's only get economic bonuses on difficulties above Tough. Below Tough they are actually hamstrung to varying degrees. As others have mentioned, all AI players (except the Terrans) start with stellar cartography, so they already know whe

I'm in a game where the Terrans and Arceans are near each other and I'm fairly close to them. I've been eyeing the Terran's planets, but the Arceans got the jump on them and took two planets. I quickly build up a few transports and sneak them in to take Earth and a couple other planets (Thanks to the Arcean's for wiping out any offenseive threat!) while my escort fleets catch up. The Terrans now have a pq18 and a pq 13 planet left, but farther away. As I approach to finish them o

eggs ackaly as ive stated they should function. ships on sentry duty are mearly pickets assigned to scan an area and alert you to any movment, a guard is responcable for protecting a given square. You need to build ships. Research weapons and hull designs (building a fleet of cargo ships is suicide) and put the two together in a large enough quantity to deter an attack. Trading with other races also reduces their desire to attack you.

have you guys ever thought that maby it's because your really deeped in debt If you are that far in debt, the numbers don't adjust after going back in...everything stays never (research, ship building, social building, etc) until you are out of debt ( or at least less than 500bc in debt).

Then there's this thread as well ( Link ) again, not the same exact problem. The one post I've found that describes your same problem was never responded to.

I found this thread ( Link ) for the text. While not the same problem exactly, I guess it's worth asking if you have rebooted your system since install?
