@Winnihym - The issue of time would be mitigated by distance from the MR and number of facilities to produce the item as well as type of travel (fast, slow -etc.). Looking at things from a demand side of things with a focus on "simplicity", if an automated system is to be implemented and effective I would like to be able to select something to produce at a given city, from a list of options that I have the appropriate resources for within my empire and have the AI automatically deal with sending everything needed for that unit to the city. @Luckmann - I would not sweat the control thing much. I would be willing to bet that if SD was going to fold, Frogboy would - at the very least - release server side software for the community and at best rework the game for p2p.
