It's the beta version. The release version, first of all will have today's date, and the available version will start with 1. So it should look like something 1.xxxx. Hope it helps. Oh, and there will probably be announcement in these pages and a general racket you can probably hear from home :P EDIT: CommanderGizmo got me to it :)

It's to somehow differentiate the communities. Why would someone who regularly blogs at JoeUser and might not know Galciv (hey, it might happen) need to see a karma for "Helping explain the intricacies of the Thalan tech tree"? He would be confused. Similarly, someone in Galciv community who doesn't know Joeuser might get excited at the thought of "Middle East policies explanation": "Hey I didn't know this feature was in!? Where do I find it?" All of course in my humble opinio

As I said in another thread, it will definately be worth the wait. Think about it: why release if then you are going to wait more for a patch to update the AI and other stuff. A delay may be frustrating in the beginning, but you get more bang later on, and you forget all about it after you load up the game. When Stardock's lines get swamped later on, we'll see how many thought it was worth the wait :P

Yes, but the CD in not in a box. They just send the CD in a sleeve. I guess it's for backup purpose and to have an offline copy, and since I like the physical medium, I have ordered that. I guess I could have backed it up myself, but, what the hey, I like the picture printed on the CD :P

Unfortunately BogusDude, the starting position in pretty much random. Except if you make your own maps and put yourself in the middle...

You can set it manually I think in prefs.ini. The game area itself will be at the resolution you chose, but some pictures of leaders in pop up windows and, of course, the cut scenes will be a bit stretched, but you get so used to it after a while, that when you see the normal picture you say " Hey that looks weird"!

I'm afraid to play the Immense setting... My computer will probably grind to halt even with all the optimizations. Besides, it would take me umpteen amounts of time!

I have no idea what that means, but I can't help but laugh :) LOL! :D Oh, probably everyone from Galciv 1 moved on to Galciv2 so it's improbable that they will keep posting at those forums! So come on over as well and join us here!

They should be more difficult in Twilight, with at least one defender to help them survive the first wave until they biuld more ships :P So no more pushovers. You'll have to put in a (small :P) effort!

Well, sometimes the best games are the ones you have to work most to win. So starting on the edge can be good if you are looking for a challenge. Try it at least once and see if you won't like it :P

I'd just like to repeat again that the wait was definetely worth it. It was the best decision to add a few more months (even if it hurt inside) to make this expansion pack unique. Nobody will remember the wait, only the vast amount of features. Good call Stardock! [quote]"New Soundtrack" "Besides the graphics being improved, the ship weapon effects and sounds have been given an update (as well as the overall soundtrack). This is part of the goal to make sure the Twilight feels brand

And Papa Brad opened the window to a clutter to see the small'uns posting nonsense But busy he was polishing the plaster That would make all the kids (and old) go nutter. "Now Elves of Cari, now Zoomba, and you critter of Code" with so many others at the Star's abode "Give it shine and lustre" For holy frogs and dragols to let loose the game in stockings or even on the central star dockings and forever shut, shut out, the galls of trolls.

@Weidbrewer: Maybe there's a problem with the installation file you downloaded. Try downloading it again. I'm assuming the one you installed on your laptop came from another downloaded copy.

You can backup your game when you download it and if you go to the backup directory for Stardock Central in your Programs Files, you'll find a big file there. If you burn that to a disc, you can then use it to restore the game after you reinstall Stardock Central on your future computer. No need to download again. Simple :) Actually delaying the release was helpful as I'll have more time to play next week, with work needing to be done this week. I kept from playing the beta the last fe
