If terminus planets are Econ Capitals, I beleive that will also affect the income recieved from Trade. I try to find the Econ Capitol of the civ I'm trading with and move all routes to that one - I always build my trade ships on my Econ Capitol world. Speed doesn't matter with trade ships - I just give them enough engine power to get there and enough support modules to make the range. I'll put plenty of Sensors on them though - it helps to see what is going on in far space.<b

Found that even though you are in debt, (-0) you can still rush buy structures while in the Colony Management Screen in latest beta 6c. You cannot buy the buildings when in the Planet Screen. Sent save game, screen shot and debug.err log to gcbugs mailbox. Looking good - can't wait for the final!

Latest build - 4/11 - I also noticed no core combat ships - especially the defender and star fury types - playing as Korx - but to be frank I didn't mind as I obsolete them as soon as they appear. I use the templates and build my own. Don't see any medium hull core ship either yet. Ai's I'm playing against are building typical small fighteres, defenders, escorts and such as they normally do and upgrading them. Korath, Drengin, Torians, Krynn and Arceans. Freightors and Transp

I just played my first beta; latest build downloaded 4-11 - here are my impressions so far - purely subjective. Small map - common stars abundant everything else, genius AI, force advanced algorythms, crippling difficulty. Torians, Korath, Drengin, Krynn and Arceans - I play as the Korx. Drengin - fast colony rush lots of colonys build good fleets. A little passive but did declare war on very weak Altarians Korath - very fast colony rush lots of colonies very

Some ramblings. I too feel that once a game has reached it's zenith, it is probably best to let it go...mostly. At least as a commercial product. I really like the idea of hosting 'officially' approved Mods mentioned in an above post. Perhaps they could be purchased at a small one time fee - enough to pay for the bandwidth the hosting site uses. In conjunction, the Developer would still provide the occasional bug fix - nothing major or earth shattering - just fix things tha

Thanks Brad - most interesting journal. I haven't been able to play much for the last 6 monthes due to work, so cannot play test Toa (though I do have a few DA games going for relaxation)- but I hope to be able to have some free time next month to take ToA for a test spin or two. I've downloaded the beta's regularly - but haven't started the game yet - I know I'd be hooked for nights on end with no sleep - and I need my job...

Yes. It's a game, not a VR Holodeck. There are lots of aspects that we must mold ourselves to and adapt, not try to change the rules because we don't agree with the "reality" of it all. If this were a truely realistic game, we'd be bored out of our minds. I don't know why some of these features raise such a cry of disdain from some people. Adapt or lose. Agreed 100%. It's a single player game. Don't like the strategies, don't

Not to be contrary, but I found the Automate Miners button and the Directional Launch Buttons within minutes of playing my first DA game.... They were intuitive to me...I think the interface is well done. I never read a manual...have not read it from DL v1 let alone the DA one...I just sit down and start a game, then start playing with all the buttons and tabs... and 99% of the questions I do have are answeered by spending a few minutes a day browsing the forums or on the Wiki, without

Try changing your Windows language settings to the English version and see if the crash stops.

I will backup and delete the contents of the ship folder before starting a new game everytime. Doesn't take long. If that's what you want to do, you could probably just make a batch file to delete the ships then run the game, and use that to start the game rather than the default shortcut. I do...but I did not want to confuse those less skilled... Here is a simple batch file to use. Simply copy the f

So, I guess I'm asking if a ship saved as a Template will be available every game I use that race? And will the non-template builds I make in Game X not show up in Game Y ? Yes on the templates - that is what they are designed to do. The non-template builds will show up if you have saved them to your hard drive unless you delete them in the relevant Ship folder. (Mod, metaverse or normal) I will backup and delete the contents of the

Kryo, Is this causing the computer players to launch troop transports less than full? Thanks, -Kassad That would make sense - otherwise the aI will quickly depopulate their worlds.

In DA, I will research these techs so I can sell them to the aI. I will cancel the upgrades to my own farms when I get them. No other reason to research them otherwise.

DA 1.6 final Early game I keep my taxes low enough to have 100% growth. Get that pop up there fast. More Pop = more $$$. I keep my production slider at 100% and deficit spend until I get close to -$500. Then I'll cut my production to 0% for enough turns to get out of the red, then set it back to 100%...rinse and repeat. I'll research economic techs early...try to get to Intersteller Republic, and get at least the second level of Trade Centers. I'll trade tec

The "All Labs/Factories" approach (ab)uses the game mechanic in a way that doesn't quite make sense, at least in my opinion. Yes, I know it's costly and difficult strategy to accomplish, but it just doesn't sound like the economy sliders are working like they should be when this kind of trick is possible. Spewing buildings and starships from research labs just doesn't sound right, no matter what kind of abstractions I try to do in my head I disagree. This s

Notice your are running in Italian - not sure if that language has issues with GC. Also may want to try an upgrade on your video drivers. BTW, fyi this is the debug for GC2 Dread Lords - if you are running Dark Avatar Expansion you can find the debug.err under that folder.

Sorry, Becephalus, I disagree with your pov, and agree with Wyndstar's approach. This is a single player game - you have the choice whether or not to mess with the Tax Slider. You can choose to set it once and leave it that way the entire game. Or you can choose to micromanage and tweak it every single turn. Your choice. This is a good thing. Too many choices have been removed or nerfed from the game already IMO.

debug.err log have been posted by the millions, every conceivable page file config has been tried and yet the problem persists. Seems the only way to play this game is by downgrading your computer. I wouldn't call what I have said as insulting the devs, I'm just having a dig at their work and want to know what they are doing about it. They can't tell me they are putting every waking hour into tracking down this leak when they are constantly adding stuff and selling
