Well, oil prices may be the same, but there may be other factors in play. Several things can determine the market value of gas, not simply the price of oil. I already mentioned refineries for one, but anything that also uses oil can influence the price as well. If Oil's only use was to be made into gas, and refining and distribution remained constant, then we we would probably see the same oil prices having practically the same gas prices. But this is not the case.

Well, looking at that chart, both trends seem to follow each other pretty well for the most part. That spike in the end I believe has more to do with the recent hurricanes and their effects on the refineries. Oil can go as low as it wants to, but without refineries to process that oil into gas, you're not going to see a corresponding drop.

I'm under the belief that when one feels very strongly about a candidate, positively or negatively, one often ignores the bad or the good that comes from the candidate (depending on how he/she is viewed). I actually quite enjoyed Brad's scoring of the debate, because it seemed to have been done in a more objective a manner. Though I will say that I too will probably suffer from this as well, but I will try to give credit to each of the candidates where I believe credit is due

This has kept me from getting Mass Effect (really want that game), and would keep me from getting Spore (if I really wanted to get it). I generally agree with you in that I believe that many people are getting a bit spoiled and decrying the United States when it really isn't all that fair to do so. I lived in Europe for a good part of my life, and from what I've seen, there is a general dislike over the American Government (though not the people though). I guess people just generally want someone to point their fingers at, and when you are the only superpower, I guess it's hard to avoid no matter what you do.
