No, I made sure I completely uninstalled the program and then installed the updated version. In any case, the problem hasn't come up again since I reinstalled again, so I guess it's not much of an issue.

Okay, I give up. Is there a way to view all the forum posts in a particular forum category? For the life of me, I simply can't figure out how. Currently I can only view the active posts in a forum, or *all* the recent posts, but not only the recent posts from a particular forum category. For example, let's say I wish to see all the forum posts in the Beta Feedback category, ignoring the recent posts everywhere else. How would I do that? Is it possible?

Hmm, this is very strange. I played a game earlier today, finished it and quit with no problem. Now, a few hours later I try running the game and I get a box right before the intro video would normally play. It says: Brush State (Disabled) TexturePixelBox is not within the Texture's Dimensions. Brush: EscapeMenuWindowOptionButtonSaveGame TexturePixelBox: 238, 334, 355, 416 Texture: 0, 0, 0, 0 It gives me the option to Skip, Skip All or Break. No matter whic

Your changes that you listed are actually quite similar to mine as well. I was actually on Celexa once for depression but my new doctor had recommended Lexapro to me instead (which is derived from Celexa). Life definitely seems better, and many inhibitions that I had are gone (which has helped a great deal socially as I'm not where near as shy as I used to be). But at the same time, it's hard to pull off all nighters and such when working on a proje

But one of the main differences in our beliefs is that mine is falsifiable. It can be proven wrong. Using the properties of time as we know it, we can demonstrate how 14 billion years is the most probable. However, if we find evidence that shows that this is not entirely correct, I'll throw away my belief in an instant. The only thing that I would consider myself to believe on faith, would be that what I perceive is derived from reality and that I'm not some "brain in a vat". I cons

Let's start this blog off with an ethical question even though it may not apply today, it might later on. Should AIs of sufficient intelligence have individual rights? Let's say you met someone and had an interesting conversation with that person. Nothing seemed unusual at all about the conversation, but you then later found out that said person was not a

Okay, you keep saying how something must either be a creator or created. I can't see how this *must* be the case. To me, that's like saying, something is either a manipulator or manipulated. You say that it's logical that the universe was created. How is that more logical than having the building blocks of the universe always be, and that they were simply manipulated into place by a manipulator? In this case, God wouldn't be a creator either, simply a manipulator going by your definitions.

It still produces CO2...any hydrocarbon produces CO2 as a product when burned. Ethanol is drinking alcohol...with a formula of C2H5OH. The reaction of oxidizing it(burning it) is: 2C2H5OH + 7O2 ----> 4CO2 + 6H2O...so that's plenty of CO2 emission... [/quote} Yes, but the reason they call it "carbon-neutral" is because the CO2 that is released was gathered from the air in the first place, and so the net CO2 emissions are near zero. </

Thanks for the article. I haven't myself researched too heavily into the use of ethanol as a fuel source, but I'm glad that you posted this anyways as I learned quite a bit. Comment number 3 is confusing though. I'm not sure exactly how ozone is actually released from the combustion of ethanol fuel. Most of the articles I've found relating to it says that it does so, but it doesn't tell me how exactly. I don't doubt it's true, but still wo

ThinkAloud, since I'm using a public computer (on vacation), I haven't had time to read everything that you read, but I wanted to make a few points from what I read. You say you can't have a neutral charge, but look up neutrons. Also, let's say that this universe is "created" through universe building blocks. Let's make an analogy using Lego since that is the first thing that pops up in my head. Well, let's say that a lego building is the universe as we know it, including the

Our suites have their own bathrooms, and the floors are coed, so that's not a problem. However, if you don't live in my building, you need to be escorted by someone who does. That means that your card will get you in your building, and no other. If you have a friend in another building, they have to let you in and walk you around. It's supposed to keep strangers out. And, I realize that people will be "carrying stuff in", but that isn'

You know, very few pictures exist of me in digital form, mostly due to the lack of a digital camera/not having time to scan photographs onto the computer. In any case, without further ado, allow me to present...Me. Hmmm, not recent enough? Okay, fine, let's fast forward about 16 years. Two years ago, but I haven

Well, in my dorm, we had something like that implemented a while ago where we have to use ID cards to get in. And if you prop the door, an alarm goes off. Kind of annoying, especially when you're bringing stuff in. And they even took it one step forward by giving all the bathrooms a keycode, to apparently keep guys from walking into the girls bathrooms or some such. Having a keycode to enter a bathroom in a college dorm...bad idea. I mean, on more than one ocassion one would see vom

To lulapilgrim: When we recognize a law in the universe, we do not invent it. It was there before men set foot on earth becasue God set it there. Science is not the enemy of God becasue it has no proof whatsover to contradict the idea of God. Conversely, scientific knowledge can be used to prove the truth of God and His creation doubly so than to disprove it. It is not in the nature of science to actively disprove things with no ev

That is the problem .... right there. You assuming a lot about things before the universe existed. these assumptions are based on our experiences in THIS universe AFTER it existed. they dont apply, do they? you cant assume anything before the big bang .... nothing. absolutely nothing at all. we have no knowledge or basis for any kind of logical assumptions before the big bang. theoritical assumptions ... sure. not logical. Lets stick to what

Claiming that God has existed all along is logical? How is it more logical than a universe that has lasted for "eternity" in some form or another? Remember, you can't apply any of our current laws of the universe to it from the period of t=0 to a unit of plank time. Also, I claimed that applying God as the cause of the universe is the easiest solution, but not the simplest. How did this universe come to be, or what happened before one plank time unit? Ready for this? I *don't* know

not true at all. We make things that augment our abilities. WE cant CREATE anything. Remember the laws of thermodynamics? In this universe matters are not created or destroyed. the same goes for Energy. we just manipulate these things around. and WE and these things are made of the same basic ingredients. And you actually prove my point further. may be we, one day, will be able to make things that CAN understand the nature

Well, addressing the other environments of planets issue, it wouldn't make sense for an aquatic planet to simply be converted into a toxic planet simply because of the spore ship. I don't see the two as being mutually exclusive. I don't see why planets couldn't be toxic, and aquatic at the same time. But, then again, perhaps that's nitpicking a bit much. Having the spore ship uncolonize the planet instead of conquering it would balance it a bit I think, but then you have to make sure

ThinkAloud, First off, I think the analogy would be better suited if we created an intelligent computer AI instead of a car. Granted, this has not been done yet, but in large part that may be because computers simply don't have the raw computational ability to acheive intelligence. But if it were done, you could very well have a creation understanding the creator, and even have a creation exceed the abilities of the creator. We make creations that agument our abilities all th

I seem to like the idea of a bigger sales tax. You could make it a tax on non-essential items or give refunds to the lower class to keep from being unfair to them since they need most of their money for essential goods (like food and a place to stay). That way, if you invest, you're not penalized for it and that can promote economic growth, and those that have higher income will probably consume more goods and therefore be taxed more in that fashion. This would also prevent having t

Free will doesn't make much sense to me, for reasons that I always have a tough time explaining. If I had free will and I chose to do something, why did I choose to do that particular thing. I was influenceds somehow, but if that's the case, do these influences determine what it is that I do, and if that's the case, wouldn't my will no longer be free? If these influences have no impact on what I choose to do, then that wouldn't make sense at all, since that would mean that there's no

Well, I'm a bit obese (BMI 32) so I guess I'll share my view on the matter. I guess if I had enough self-discipline this could be resolved, so I'll attribute some of the blame on my lack of will power. I find to me, it's very hard to get myself to lose weight, and easy to gain and maintain weight. If one eats a great deal less all of a sudden, your body will get all defensive and start lowering its metabolism and even breaking down things like muscle before it breaks down fat to try a

I can't imagine them doing so, not unless some major calamity occurs. Almost no one would be for it, and there would be outcries all over the place. Any represnatives or senators being in favor of it, would likely have a much harder time getting reelected. But that's my take on the issue.
