I know with so many other things to work on this seems like kind of nitpicking, but warhammers really seem kind of out there in terms of balance. There's a couple of weird things going on here. In terms of damage they are twice as effective as any other weapon available at the same time. They cost two metal while the mace (a solidly inferior option) costs four. They're also one handed, but the Lord Mace (which is only marginally more powerful) takes two hands.
I'd agree with your wholeheartedly if this were a bargain or indie-priced game... not something that's supposedly ready according to Brad (while not being the case) while set at a AAA pricepoint.
It'll cost you 50 bucks now, or 50 bucks six months from now when it's a much better game. Actually with an earlier release it'll probably hit the bargain bin that much sooner, if you're really concerned about the pricing from a customer perspective.

While Elemental was certainly released before it was really finished, here's how I see it: I could buy it now, and have a half broken game to fiddle around with while they finish it and turn it into a great game in a couple of months. Or, they could have taken a couple of months to really polish it and release it then. Either way, I'll have a great game in a couple of months, but at least now I have something to mess around with if I want that option. Other developers usua

Subscriptions for this are a terrible idea. Paying for new content is what expansion packs are for. I bought this game new, even after having read the reviews and understanding that it really wasn't done yet, because I have faith in Stardock that it'll be up to snuff eventually so I might as well get it now. If it were subscription, I'd wait six months first, if I bought it at all.

How come the tax payers have to pay for it? Why doesn't the government pay for it? ... Yes, I'm joking, although I actually have heard people say that before, right before I imagined throat-punching them. The idea being that it will tick people off enough that they'll make sure their representatives don't pull something like this again. </tr

US gas prices are around $3 a gallon. Just like Coastie74 said mostly anywere between 2.75 and 3.00, thanks bush, you bastard. People are always quick to blame gas companies for high prices, while remaining completely oblivious that 90% of global oil reserves are controlled by various governments, not private companies. Bush's middle east

The Drath are very, very powerful. And defense helps keep your ships alive while they're out conquering the galaxy. The Yor are also very powerful. In terms of bonuses to start from, nobody else comes close. Keep in mind that you don't have to play them as Good. Starting out as Good is an inherent advantage, since you can either go Good, Neutral or Evil without having to pick Good choices every single time. If you want to go Neutral, starting with a Good race means you get to kil

It's fantastic. Definitely worth buying if you like 4x games at all, or just get the demo if you don't like 4x games, because you might like this one. The highlight is the AI. While the AI in some other games is more challenging, that is because it cheats. In Galciv 2, the AI doesn't know where you are, doesn't get free money except on the highest difficulty settings and usually only falls for tricks that work on actual people. An AI that just got loads of free units and an accele

but what every one in this tread is missing is the factories, labs, and super projects that realy make a differance. This thread is about the tradeoff between stock markets and farms for maximizing your income on a dedicated tax world. We're not talking about factories and labs because that's not the point of the thread. I'd have thought that the

Quick building that many colony ships is a bad move unless you're playing in a tiny galaxy loaded to bursting with AI opponents. You're much better off quick building a few factories and getting your colony ships that way. It only puts you a couple of turns behind, but your cash reserves let you quick build the first factory on each of your new planets, which saves you a whole lot of time that you would otherwise just waste while your first factory is getting built. I never have an

You found a bug. You have my sympathy for that, hopefully they'll have it fixed in the next patch. You did not witness cheating. Whenever I see a post that includes an accusation of the AI "cheating", a big red flag that has "RETARD" scribbled across it in crayon shoots up.

Seconded. Eye of the Universe can cause a performance drop because you see a lot more ships, planets and stations than you did previously. Zoom out so that the ships are represented by icons rather than the 3D models to greatly improve your performace.

He's probably confused, or just retarded and trolling for attention. I won't believe that 700% research tiles exist until I've seen a screenshot. Someone saying that they've got five on thirteen planets just strains credibility. You don't know how to provide proof for your outrageous claim? Well isn't that convenient!
