It all depends on a lot of parameters. First and foremost the available quantity of memory on video card, doesn't mean that it's a good video card. Not only a good amount is probably preferable, but the type of video card must also be a good one. Now ... how good it needs to be I don't really now. What I know though is that even with a 8800GTS512 on an immense galaxy which have a lot of orbiting ships + this very mod and at 1280x1024 + 4xAA + all options turned to the max I tend to hav

I suggest using the galactopedia (which is in the pinned threads) to explore/compare tech trees

And I completely agree that a 20k price tag to update a dead end delivery system so that a relatively small number of gamers could download what is already a free, content rich update you were under no obligation to deliver is much, much too high. I'll have to see what can be done

For me it was, I dont have the internet connection to be able to download whole games so purchasing the hard copy was the only option, and stardock dont do a expansion packs pac like EU. Even though it seems to have confused some people i am really happy they did it. Thanks heaps Sole and
1- impossible unless you use torian ship style with any race setup OR you redo your designs with the KHSM mod which makes all races styles available to all races
IMO it's a good thing the AI doesn't research this while it's fun, its inefficiency would condemn the AI to a painful death

Reinstalling will not affect your personal settings or ships in My Games\GC2*. Talking with the people who handle Impulse stuff though, it seems that a reinstall is indeed waht is needed in order to fix this issue (it's a result of stuff that had to be done for SDC in the past).[/quote] I don't want to be a bother but I would like to know if that's at

The attempt to assimilate foreign fighters into the conquering army often proved difficult due to difference in language, culture, etc. This meant that you almost never saw a barbaric warrior fight as a native barbaric warrior in the Roman army for example. It was also difficult to train that barbaric warrior into a modern Roman solder.

I think it depends on how it is handled but I'm not in favor of national units only why ? because if it follows a little MoM heritage then what will happen you conquer a dwarven city with your dark elves magician armies and then can produce dark elf units in this dwarven city O_o bad idea in my book... what I see possible is that high level units might be restricted by your "home" race, since the dwarf hates dark elves you wouldn't have a
well keeping in mind that I'm as pissed as everyone else for the "no SDC support" that said I think the gamer's bill of rights is a project ... nowhere did stardock said that they were perfect in every move and that all their games followed the famous gamer's bill of rights .. example : AFAIK, stardock doesn't reimburse galciv2 buys : 1. Gamers shall have the right to return games that are incompatible or do not function at a reasonable level
