I have been frustrated my last several battles with my impulsive warg riders stuck behind non-impulsive and slow initiative melee units and terrain obstacles. Agree that we should have a basic formation we can set or make it a level up perk like HoMM 3 Tactics hero skill.

Extremely annoying when it keeps you from seeing ALL of an enemy's troops. Especially when you are fighting Yithril (the no bows faction) and you don't see the town's ARCHERS and they kill your pet cave bear[e digicons]>:([/e] . AOW2:SM gave you that slow pan into the tactical map that let you see everything, could that be done?
Bring back the Xenophobic trait from GC2 and reduce their movement to 1 tile/turn? Give Tarth race an auto -3 hp per unit per turn Harry ability for hostile units in their territory?
Could you also look at making robes upgrade completely separate from armor? And something I've always wondered: why do Aegis robes get an AC of 5 without a dodge bonus, while the basic AC 3 robes get +5 dodge? And have you considered adding some elemental damage effects like in mqpiffle's Rise of the Magi mod? I would love for at least the hero versions of weapons to have special abilities like the ice spear that slows on hit, etc. Keep it up
Yay, pictures fixed! The sword is no fun with the XP nerf anyway... Now, if Ongr could be recruited in some fashion, that would be cool... Could be a quest, or if you make him Twisted so we can use the Amethyst Collar [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Some of the long narrow tactical maps have tiles you can move to... you just need to zoom in a certain amount to "look past" the surrounding trees, hillside or buildings... Definitely needs a tune-up. The squares to the black widow's right could not be moved to until I zoomed in the map.
There are only six World Achievements. Three provide 10 fame upon completion, one provides 1 fame per season, and the other two don't provide fame. Incidentally, the two you list as examples are two of the ones that do provide 10 fame. Merchantcross Bazaar: +10 fame Great Mill: +10 fame Hosten's Library: +10 fame Erog's Tower: +1 fame per season. Iron Wo
Awesome, idea Parrottmath! And congrats on your fix being included in the 0.80 patch.
Agreed, the FOW has always been wonky. Esp confusing when you run into a caravan on a road in the dark, you can pass through/over it but not end your turn there.
Brilliant suggestion!
A flying unit should be able to fly over crystal chasms and other obstacles like lakes. If necessary the rule could be they must finish their turn over land to prevent unreachable opponents in tactical combat.
If a player completes a world achievement (Great Mill, Merchantcross Bazaar, etc.) they should get + 10 Fame as well.
The Summon Familiar spell is boring. It would be fun to have a random creature be your familiar, perhaps being influenced by your schools of magic or profession. Different creatures could have a different bonus, whether specific to the unit or global to all of the units in the stack: Familiars can cast spells and then have additional abilities: Ogre Magi: A juggernaut with spell casting heh heh Wisp as currently available but with spell
Quoting igncom1, reply 21Could we compensate the amount of one type of mount by adding more? Like pegasi that boost initiative over health Or unicorns that boost magical ability's over weight carrying ability......I just asked for unicorns... Would love to have more 'fantastic' mounts to choose from. Pegasi can fly... Unicorns can teleport... Naturally, other magic types would require they're o
A magic-sucking elemental summons that sucks the base mana cost off a unit and adds hit points to itself would be a fun beast. A more strategic level battle of wizardry vs. tactical brute force would be a fun addition to the game, I totally agree, Emmagine.
Also don't forget to sell all of your wolf pelts, silk, bear skins and other monster loot to help boost your early economy. Selling magic items that don't fit your hero due to level limits or personal taste can also help. The AI is still spamming 0 population cities, as well, so that can make them feel more aggressive towards you, as well. I generally try to get the Great Mill researched as production boosts per material are always helpful, but you can k
Well thanks for tweaking and reporting back! It's pretty sloggy right now and I've got this level 18 Sword of the Sovereign that is just laying in my backpack making my shoulders sore and my swordhand itchy!
I have killed multiple epic level stacks of spiders in my current game and my sov is level 12 at year/turn/season AC 245. (I got 36 XP for 736 hp worth of Corpse Spiders) I have defeated two other factions and Verga and Magnar are 14th and 15th levels. I think there are enough selections in the various skill trees to easily cover hero advancement up into the mid to high 20s level-wise. So I hope they loosen it up a little... I look forward to Sanati
This past game on Challenging I was nearly defeated by the Spider Queen event. I had to hunker down in my two cities while I feverishly researched bigger army size and better weapons until I could defeat the Hoarder spider and swarming (love the new mechanic, btw!) spiderlings that had spawned 4 tiles from my Capital city. Definitely made for a mad scramble! Agree that it would be nice to see some beneficial events as well. And the ideas posted above a
I wholeheartedly agree, and especially in light of items that have a minimum level requirement of 18!
I just defeated a Forest Drake and 2 3-beast squads of Pack Drakes and won a Short Sword!! Um... can I pass this and bid on the next Showcase?
Agree, I am a spear man myself. Where are the good spears?
Exactly.... The ice spear would be sooo much better if it had the ability to slow an enemy like the touch of an ice elemental.
So is shrink, so is stun or slow, so is 100% fire resistance. Stack all of these together and they are effective tactics against dragons and other fearsome beasts. So is a critical strike from an Assassin with a Boreal blade. Or Fracture and Web... More choices and paths to an end = more fun and replayability.
It's okay if there are really good strategies, like Commander + Bears. The only problem would be if there weren't a dozen other good strategies too. It's okay for something to be really good, as long as their are multiple really good things out there. I don;t think this is the one, best strategy.
Exactly! Now Pony Cavalry Commander... that ability is totally OP!
Quoting Azunai_, reply 11maybe the accumulated fame could also trigger small random events like "a merchant has come to town XY, attracted by stories of your great deeds, he has some artifacts for sale. do you want to buy the Axe of Roflstomping or the Hammer of Pwnage for X gildar?". so you could basically gat some good items for your high level sov without relying entirely on luck. for that idea
I he
