Thanks to all for this. And I'm not just saying this because I can finally see my character ranked without having to hit "view more results"!!!

I think it was on a quarterly report that described trade. I'll find it and let you know where it was. Or it could be that this game is just making me paranoid. Wow, I hardly read the quarterly reports, so that might be right. More likely is that you're paranoid, though! Dreams about Drengin and Drath, man I envy you!

1. Are you using a colony ship? A ship with a colony module? 2. Are you sure it's not a special-environment planet? It would have a red symbol over it if it were. You can't colonize those until you've researched the appropriate extreme colonization tech.

And that's my reasoning. It's just a plan to lower the expense of maintaining a strong economy. OK, so there really is no connection between the trade goods and the trade routes, it's just that you're using the same planet(s) for both things. Makes sense! BTW, what makes you think AI doesn't like trade deficits? That's the first I've heard of it. If it's true, it would be another factor to take into consideration, one which I've never th

Addendum: It may have been a pre-version 1.4 DL game. I'm not sure anymore. Yeah, because they should NEVER be destroyed once you have the GP. Now, if oddities like pirates, peacekeepers, or Dread Lords are really supposed to be able to destroy protected freighters (but I've seen DL ships vainly trail freighters for ages), then that's not the end of the world for me. I'm just upset that it really makes the game slow down to have any ships

There's now an excellent online DA strategy guide, which Frogboy has just posted a link to. One of the major suggestions it gives for building your economy is to build the Galactic Privateer to protect your trade routes. This issue will now become bigger than it's been before. If anyone else gets a chance to send in a saved game with this bug, PLEASE zip it and email it to [email protected]. The more of these we send in, the more able they'll be to fix this soon.

. Playing Suicidal on a small map in DL was pretty much cake to playing tough in DA with max cpu selected, and modifying the races bonuses to make their high abilities higher. Of course playing a small map with 8 minor civs doesn't help either. If you're modding their abilities, then of course it's not the same as the Tough setting you were playing on DL! You're increasing difficulty artificially, so don't complain about that. I'm also hav

I wouldn't join right away if I were you. Wait around a bit and join when you feel like there's one you want to join.

Mystik, have you heard of anyone having this issue on a normal sandbox game? I've heard of it for the campaign, and I've experienced it in the DA campaign (though it was the first build and I think it's fixed now). Maybe it's that particular scenario that has that problem in your version.

The max population of a planet is limited by its original size. Maybe the planet had been terraformed before you got it. Are you sure this is true? This hasn't been my experience. It is certainly dependant on the planets listed PQ which can be different than the number of buildable tiles, but I've never seen a planet behave differently then it's posted PQ. For example I colonize a PQ9 that later gets increased to PQ12 by terraforming, etc. I definitely know that as

Howdie all. I joined this empire and am looking forward to posting my first game eventually ( gigantic, abundant) Nice! Welcome and good luck!

I have been in battles where my ally must have been spying on me, because I had destroyed my enemy's economy, yet the darn spies still came. Yes, because they're playing wisely! Unless I have a super strong opponent that I'm fighting, I often spy on my strongest ally, especially if that ally is stronger than me. It just sets them back a bit, not only slowing down their production but also forcing them to put some significant cash into developing spies

To be fair, we can have as many politcal parties as we want in the process. Candidates don't have to be Republican, Democrat or even Independent, they can be whatever they want and run for any office. The thing is that they won't get many votes because people are accustomed to working with a two party system. That's tradition, not liberties being hampered. That's our tradition because that's the system our constitution established. If it weren't a winn

First of all, bad mouthing the very people who give you the right to bad mouth them...umm don't you think that could be construed as being bad taste? Our elected officials DON'T give us our rights. We retain them when we create our government. Or are you not from the US and so your constitution is different?

So was Hilter when he turned things around economcially in Germany in the mid 1930's. I'd be interested to hear your reasons as to why Chavez is anything like Hitler. Is there any group of people he speaks of as plagues of the world who should be wiped out? Calling one person, Bush, the devil, isn't nearly the same thing. Is he advocating a massive military buildup and the expansion of his people/nation? If so, I'd like to hear what evidence the

Now let me throw in one of my favorites... Hugo Chavez! Yeah, he's an interesting guy. Remember when he came to NY (or was it Washington?) and called Bush the devil? it was an act of compassion, regardless of it's underlying reasons. I'm not quite ready to believe that. But even if his motives aren't so good, he's helping (AFAIK) people who have been SERIOUSLY screwed by corporations, many of the

I then build every trade good on these two planets and, of course deploy all my freighters from them. Why? There's no connection between the planet a trade good is built on and your revenue from trade. Trade goods aren't really even traded, unless you choose to do so in the diplomacy screen.

I can't remember all of them, but I think Omegas are specific to planets, but Hyperions are civ-wide. Well, that's not entirely true, because Hyperion Shipyard is planet-specific. Omega Research (which I just built for the first time) is only for the planet it's on, though the description might not say that. The Trade Goods are definitely civ-wide. You might not notice a change from some of the later morale ones, because the formula used to calculate morale is more complicated than I

After 3 in a row like that I changed the map setting for planets to abundant. Slab, when you do random settings, as I always do, it's good to know that ctrl-N doesn't change the settings, only the galaxy configuration. So, if you randomly get rare everything, ctrl-N isn't going to help you. I wish there were some other ctrl command that would reset the randomization, but that's another story . . . .

Unless you ferried people to the PQ1, it had a very low population because of the population cap. So it wouldn't matter much how high the morale is, because it would be overwhelmed by foreign influence. 1) At what minus treasury will a complete collapse occur? I'm at war with the Krynn and they have like -840 bc. i was hoping that their whole system will just collapse soon. They're already in collapse, to some degree, in that there's

DA or DL? I find they're better at developing planets in DA. Also, if they think they need a building to survive in the short-term, they'll build it on a bonus even when it doesn't match. And I've build all 3 capitols on my homeworld, when playing as Thalans and knowing I wouldn't get a second planet except by conquest. Sometimes you just need those capitol bonuses as soon as you can get them! I haven't seen anything this egregious in DA yet, though I suspect others have.

That's very weird. But I'm assuming you're stuck in a rut, so to speak. Try this. When you're in a game, go to MENU (top-left), then LOAD/SAVE, then you'll get a list of games. Don't click on any that are named. Go into the box on top of the list, which will have a named game in it already (quicksave or autosave, in your case). Erase what is in the box, then type in the name you want. Then hit save down at the bottom. It should NOT erase the auto or quicksave, but create a NEW saved game
