I just bought COH off of D2D two weeks ago because Steam didn't have it. I wish I could switch it to Steam somehow, since I already use Steam for a bunch of games. Meh.

I play off and on, it does indeed look sexy. My in game nickname is Reliant and I'm usually on one of the Doorman is God servers because I get such a lovely ping there.

@Acreo Aeneas Thank you for providing a comparitive Core 2 Duo processor to his current one. His motherboard does in fact support Core 2 Duo processors, the information on his motherboard can be found here: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=spec_cuba&ppn=PB34338701 @Jperzio 2 Gigs of the fastest DDR2 memory your computer supports will likely solve your problem, it sounds to me like it is being forced to page the hard-drive when it runs out of memory. The in

whats worst in all of this is that Newegg is absolutely yanking us around on a chain, our bank has recieved no contact from them, yet they have sent us 6 seperate E-mails stating that the bank denied our claims for one reason or another. we've called them 4 times, and nothing has changed. its absolutely incredible, and I payed to have this thing delivered EXPRESS ONE DAY SHIPPING. thats almost 30 fricking dollars DOWN THE DRAIN because of some idiot mistake they're mak

Ok, since your motherboard only has two slots (I should have caught that before) then you will indeed have to trash your old memory sticks and buy two new 1gb ones. You can buy sticks fast than DDR2-667 if you want, but since your motherboard doesn't explicitly support it, you may not get the performance increase you are paying for. ie. it may operate at a lower speed. The page you provided which detailed what was in your computer lists the motherboard, and that motherboard suppports

Order of priority for upgrades(In my own opinion): 1. Ram 2. Processor 3. Monitor 4. Graphics card The mobo you have supports up to 2gbs of Ram so you'll probably wan't to grab either a single 1gb stick or 2 512mb sticks depending on which is cheaper. Given that your motherboard supports up to DDR2-667 I think that's what your system is currently loaded with. Prices for 2 512mb modules runs from ~50usd/25gbp on up, it would help if you could confirm the speed of your Ram

Hello Jperzio, 300 pounds equals roughly 609 dollars so you could upgrade quite a bit. 2 Gigabytes of Ram would probably provide the most noticable performance increase and depending on what type of memory you run it could cost less than a hundred dollars for a another 1gb stick. Do you have just a single 1bg stick in there currently or 2 512mb modules? In the US I know you could get a 22 inch monitor for 260 dollars or so from Acer, not sure exactly what the situation in the

I hope the specifications are lieing to me when I read them, that is it doesn't come with a 6 pin PCI-E connector, which the 8800 needs to work. it supports PCI-E Good for you Schem! you have no idea how much this pisses me off... we did everything perfectly, everything had a place except the extra wires, everything had a labeled and perfectly fitted socket to fit into. everything

There are two levels of modding. Modifiy how the galaxy is generated or modify a specific galaxy. If you want to modify the starting planet/capitalship or whatever on a player by player basis you want to modify a specific galaxy. This is akin to creating a map in other RTS games. This is easily done by generating a basic galaxy and then editing a save game of it which you can make right at the start. You can then load the save game as a map. We'll look into better

Good for you Schem! I just built my own pc and while at times it was a little nerve-wracking in the end it was a great experience and I'm really happy I did it myself. I like the case you chose, I looked at it myself and it was my original choice before I bumped my budget. The E6600 is fast, and has alot of overhead for overclocking. I have mine running at 3.3ghz stable with air cooling(36 celsius load). The WD Raptor is light years faster than my old hd and even though I bough

A note about 300, they were also defending a very narrow passage that meant the enemy could only have a small number of their units in battle at any given time. If a passage is 10 men wide, the enemy can only have ten or so of its men in combat, so what you're doing is negating their superior numbers by turning the larger conflict into a series of smaller force battles. If the Spartans had engaged the Persian invasion force on a

also i think that the fleet flag you know with the number 1 or whatever should be click able so that you know that when you move said fleet it moves together. ships in a fleet would move together ie the cruisers wouldn't jump until the frigates were ready and vise versa. If you look at the lower right hand side of the screen with your group selected you'll see a green arrow, right click and now your fl

We will do our best to immerse you in the story We are testing a population cap in the next beta for a variety of reasons that became apparent from the last beta. Its similiar, but not quite, to the implementation inCompany of Heroes. It may or may not stay. Its super super easy to mod o

Hehe I'm so excited. I've built myself a new system and I'm ready to play some Beta 2! (and before you ask schem it was with my own money from working two years at my summer job.) Not to knock Beta 1, but I'm SO ready for new content. Especially new music. I've heard every track in Beta 1 so many times now, I hear them in my sleep.

Yeah it doesn't seem possible for the engine to differentiate between the player and the other TEC AI's playing in the game. I wish it could, it would let me tweak the starting conditions for more roleplaying. Ex. Having the starting planet be "Old Earth;" high population, low resources etc. Maybe it can be changed around for Beta2?

Heh. I steal planets from my allies all the time since they're usually doing all the expanding at first. Since the first time an ally stole my planet I've been much more careful.

I was trying to change it to see if it could be changed. I understand why everyone starts with the same planet, but I thought it might be interesting to start out with just an asteroid vs everyone else's Terrans for a change. I would expect down the road when people are modding it will be useful to give the player a different starting planet from any one else with the same race. I'm guessing no one else who has taken a look has found a way?

@Para, therein lies the glory my friend. I would want one choke point outside of my systems for any major engagements even with the risk of Random Solar Events (RSE)!! Moreover if an event would happen and severely hurt my opponent then I may want to seize the day and turn my defensive fleet into an offensive one and if all goes well maybe then press the conflict into the enemy's home territory. With that said I would not want to see a 36

45 is not reasonable given the physics involved in my opinion hardly, you can easily justify that a near-tangent pathway would sustain too much contact with too high of a gravitational field. frankly, its more about the engineering. If it's an issue of engineering than perhaps there could be techs increasing the angle from the pathway you can jump at. Start with 45+/- and

I'm not sure why you just dont modify it (I'm sure that you know how to based on your post). Are you trying to make it so each player starts with a different planet type? unlike with the ships, were modifying capitalbattleship would impact all of them, modifying terranhome, will only impact starting pla
