Well vain I was referring to the GalCiv2 DA AI. I don't know if you've played with that game, but the AI is substantially improved over the standard GalCiv2 AI. If you play with the AI on tough, which is with all its logarithms unlocked but no bonuses to economics or research, it is very difficult to simply mow down. Compared to other games the AI in GalCiv2 DA is very competent. Hopefully the AI in SOASE will be as good or better!

Hmm race isnt really the right term now that I think about it. The Advent are kind of a seperate race from the TEC. But the Vasari are a completely different species...aren't they? So maybe Factions is the correct term.

Yarlen, this is just a guess. But the fact you guys haven't put up new screen shots yet mean were close to the beta launch? LOL, actually I have been out with a cold. We're looking good for the beta this month gang. If nothing evil pops up, they'll be a formal announc

That sound like what the GalCiv2 AI does, they're always ganging up on me for being a bully and warmongerer. If the SOASE AI is that good I'll be amazed and pleased. Of course, not even the GalCiv2 AI can keep things balanced like you describe, someone eventually gets squeezed out no matter what alliances they form. Usually by me .

yes well, my car has MTAWD*. it uses 8 of its 4 wheels to climb over opposing traffic. * More Than All Wheel Drive Lol, I wants it! I love my subaru, but that weather was just crazy. Back on topic, I think my favorite race is going to be the TEC. Which is fortunate since that's the first race we get to test.

not to nag, but the review says that it has very limited upgrade potential. Hmph, maybe but it performs and is cheap. I'll keep an eye out for other interesting things for you.

For a motherboard I immediately think of the Asus P5N-E WWW Link ^There's a review of the motherboard I'm fond of. WWW Link ^There it is at new egg. 130$ I've been looking at this one or a more feature-rich version of this board for my own computer-project for months now. It's the 650i chipset, not the 680i chipset but it really

Hmm, that 7900 Gs is a decent card, but its Dx9 not Dx10. If we're talking about future proofing here then it would be better to go with a Dx10 card. Though how that 8800 Gts is going to run Crysis I don't know... Nvidia took a chainsaw to it to make it that cheap. Still, the benchmarks say it performs comparably to a 7950 GT so....maybe it will be fine. Oh and Media Center is the operating system of choice in my opinion; It's not burdened with Vista's growing pains and it co

The newer motherboards sometimes have quiet nice on-board sounds. Intel has some nice integrated chipsets. But you're going to see a performance hit if your computer's bottleneck is the cpu and not the graphics card. I don't know which will be the case with this 8800 GTS card. I know with the 8800 GTX card cpu power is a big issue. I haven't had a dedicated sound card since I got this laptop 3 years ago, hopefully soon with the money I've saved from my summer jobs I'll get a n

1.Do you want a dedicated sound card? That motherboard probably has on-board sound but that will have more "noise" and may not support surround sound. It will also put more demand on the cpu for processing sound and will lower your fps. You could of course just buy the system without a sound card and add one in later if the on-board is not satisfactory. A creative sound card will probably run you about 60 bucks for a basic one. 2.Looking at that chopped down graph

Maybe the Advent can in fact do so? Perhaps they sneak a cloaked ship in and use its mind-powers to cloud the enemies sense of an area. With this mind-based fog-of-war in place they sneak the rest of the fleet in undetected and launch a surprise attack. For that matter maybe the others (TEC, Vasari) can do the same with other race-specific techs such as sensor-scramblers.

but we pay almost 50% in taxes We (UK) don't pay that much, however we have Council Tax, Income Tax, Road Tax, Car Tax, 4x4 tax, passport tax, airline tax, travel tax, dole tax etc etc. And where does all the money go. The army sucks, the Navy sucks, the RAF sucks, the NHS sucks and John Prescott is fat, 'nuff said. I hear the SAS doesn't suck, but thats from M
