I got #24 at this posting. At work where I play/test galciv in my off time I have the broadband. At home it is a 56k modem that the phone company only allows (due to poor, old wires in my neighborhood) a max of only about 29-30k.

Will trade good be all social projects (as above), or will there be some military projects involved also? More flexability for the players as they may have enough ships guarding the home world, but they still want that entertainmetn center, so they could set up ship building trade goods. I would like to see something like 60-70% social, 20-30% both, and 10% military or something similar. Can we still have the option of rushing (purchacing)them like other projects? How long is LOOONNG

When something is researched, it says "6 turns remaining". Goes all the way down to "1 turn(s) remaining" which to me means I get it next turn. But next turn it switches to "Next turn". So all research is taking 1 more turn to complete than what you would expect. Side note: I forgot to look and see if when it says "1 turn.." if it is plurl or singular.....(the S on turns).

Will there be another public release prior to the announced July 12 beta? It sounds like a lot has been added since the last release from all the posts.

Ya, when the AI does say such things, it makes you less likely to want to capture the planet and more likely to just leave "scorched Earth" ;) One option you might want to keep in mind for an AI is that if you are at war with another empire, and they are keeping you in check, and then you start a war with a nothing empire in the hopes of some quick gains and some production boost, they might surender not to you, but to your enemy (ie friend of a friend kinda thing) or even to some su

Question, if you have a trade with another empires planet, does the other empire also benifit from the trade? Logic would say yes, as they would have their own taxes and docking fees (abet probably less than that of the player that opened up the route). Should you have the option of rejecting a trade route from another empire if you plan to kill them off soon? If you have a trade route with another empire, and take over the planet, does the trade route start back up as now the

I'm not sure about that. It would depend on what the messages are. Someone declairs war, I want to stop. A ship has been built, ok, no big deal, I can deal with it in a couple of turns and I am weighting for that fusion plant to be built on Sol 5 which is due in 3 turns.... It's all a difference of scale

I would assume that the government (you) need to create the route, but once it is open there a private trading concerns that actually manage the daily trading, thus the trade ships would be private concerns and not built in the naval ship yards. In keeping with this idea I would rename the initial ship that open up the trade route to something like "trade explorer". This will help diferentiate it from the regular freighters. Couldn't there be more than one freighter on a freight lane

It stands to reason that some trade goods could be researched by anyone. Sensor Widgets, once the consept becomes available, can have other races copy the design and start to make it themselves. Other items, Power Crystal Widgets, perhaps, need special environments to construct with a secret recipe, and thus could be a special trade. Hard to find a balance. Technology can be copied. Resources have to be harvested, gathered, mined, etc. and as such I think would make better trading i

This is the official web page of MOO3. They don't have anything I saw in 2 minutes of searching, but that doesn't mean much... http://moo3.quicksilver.com Just remember - no matter how much they try, GalCiv will outclass MOO3, just like the Red Wings outclassed Mr Patri

I just started getting some crashes. They are repeatable, but the sequence of events is not the same in all instances. Who should I send the info to (ie, who is working on this headach)?

Solitair; I agree with you. Strategy First did an excelent job on EU. (IMO) It was advertised enough that people knew of its existance and were willing to pick up the box to see what the game was about, but not so much that people were unduniated (did I spell that right?) with so much that people were sick of hearing about it. I think Strategy First is a great asset to have in publishing this game. I also think that with the publishing of this game that SF will do more people will

Would the rebles/pirates have their own class of ship or will it be existing ships that have gone over to the dark side...? Also, another idea for a ship is some sort of ship that allows us to take over another players ship. Or even perhaps some sort of planetary based technology, "beam the population of australia onto that battleship, will you scotty"... just kinda thinking out loud.

Just had one similar: a colony ship on autopilot was a little late, and another race made it to the system first. The colony stayed on autopilot, but didn't move and didn't tell me that it wasn't doing anything. Also, as there was another good planet to colonize in that system, why can't we have two planets with different owners in the same system, or is this just a feature yet to be implimented.

Yep, it was a single battleship. When I first saw it I clicked on it to see how many they were sending against me. As the experience bar was about 1/2 way accross and it didn't change with each click, so unless there was 2 (or more) ships with the same amount of experience then that was one lucky battleship. I am not sure if I have seen any avatars. Usualy by that late in the game I am dead (I have been playing on hard dificulty). I assume that an avatar class ship is labled avatar,
