Hmmm. I appear to be getting the same problem. However, 80% of the technical stuff you all are suggesting is, well, not my specialty. Now, if you need a sewer designed.... Anyways, any and all help is appreciated.

Hi. I was on the beta, but my home connection is just to slow (although I have a 56k modum, most downloads due to the poor phone system are around 700 byte/sec. That I am afraid just never did cut it. I talked a bit about things I could do to fix it, but ended up dropping and not helping out much in the beta. I still did purchase Drengin, and was wondering if I could pick up a cd. I live in the detroit area and it would not be a problem to stop by your offices some day. I remember
Worked great. I got the latest beta, started it (6 minutes of blank screen fo rthe intro, so I was a little worried) but then the setup screen appeared. Thanks.
Trying it out now. So far it is working great on my office maching. No error messages or anything. about 10 minutes in updating (I think I have the last alpha....) and so far no stopages, bug errors, etc. If it works out ok, I will try it at home also. If not I will email you the debug.err file. Thanks
Sent the file.
I get this error when I click on GalCiv (left most side): DRENGIN caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:00000009. P.S. it was error 53 this time.
Sent it to you T-Man. Sorry for taking so long, lots of problems at work.
Will run it either this afternoon or tomarrow (work depending...) as it is the office computer teh run time 54 occured on. Thanks T-man
Thanks CariElf. I figured that it would take a while, just not that long.
Error part 2. Just tried to download here at work. Drengin loads ok, but the first time I click on games, the screen flashes and nothing occures. The second time it switches over. Then when I click on the galciv button, I get an run time error 54, some message saying graphic not found, then it shuts drengin down. Any help and or advice.
Last night I installed a new hard drive in my home computer. When I tried to reinstall galciv, after about 2 hours of downloading I walked away (and watch tv letting the computer do its thing). This morning I had this error code, and nothing apparently worked. I don not know how long into the process this error occured (I was doing some autocad work at the time and letting it run in the background), except to say that after 2 hours it wasn't showing. So, two issues. Why does it take
Tried it again on friday evening. Didn't work.
CariElf: Yes, one of the error codes was 70. I will redownload it this weekend and try again. Thanks. GK
oh ya, one other note. Perhaps my only problem is with drengin. I have restarted it 6 times, and each time it a) updates a whole bunch of files and b) gives me an error message. The message is different every time (i think, I havn't been paying too much attention, but I know at least 3 different errors for sure). If you like or need, I can run with the /d and send someone a copy of the error file. Just let me know. Thanks.
I admit it. I am bad. Almost a month ago I stopped posting. I stopped playing (the alpha). Why? 2 reasons - first, my computer at home had a fit. The kind of fit that requires a new hard drive. ouch. second - work. I used to usually play at work, but with construction happening full scale, well, I had little time. Thus, it was to be expected that I would be cut. Then last week at work I was able to download the beta. Cool. Until my boss walked in and asked
I agree with Jack. I would love to have a real 3d environment in which to try stratagy. Flanking Manuver would take on a whole new meaning. I did love homeworld just because it was the first real attempt at making a real 3d game (not just eye candy). But homeworld wasn't much of a stratagy game. More like an RTS game, which I dislike in that I havn't found many that are fun. One of the things I think of in 3d is just how much more massive it becomes. Instead of a front bei
I would have thought populus would have a bonus to having more population (ie growing faster, allowing more people on a type of planet). Why do you only have the bonus when in control of the senate? Even if not in control, your party still controls your empire. Couldn't there be a smaller bonus if you are not in charge? Just thinkin out loud.
Ouch. As I am cramed at work this week, I doubt I will be able to play much until middle of next week. Construction season is here..... As I usually use the office computer at lunch and stuff, and I have no way of disabling the servers firewall, I have to wonder if I'll ever get on the metaverse. Oh well, in the next week and a half my home computer should be fixed and perhaps I can spend half a weekend testing it there. I do understand if you have to cut me. Just hope that
As long as the victory condition takes into account the amount of extra time to win (ie research is longer than kill everyone), sounds good.
The Sims... Yuck I never could understand what people saw in it. I tried it and could hardly stay awake. Oh well, to each their own. Back to work, guess I will have to concure the galaxy at a later time..... :)
How about a post battle report screen that lists, each turn, all battles, where they took place (a system name or some coordinates), who attacked who, what ships were involved, and who won. Something kinda like this: Turn 286 Drengin attack Humans Quadrent 1:4 - Grid 12:17 (Sol System) Drengin Battleship123 (23hp) - Human Battleship32 (0hp) Drengin Battleship123 (12hp) - Human Battleship57 (0hp) Drengin Battleship123 (0hp) - Human Avatar127 (34hp) ....
Welcome back. Glad to know everyone was happy. I drive by their office every day going to and from work myself. One of these days I will have to set up an appointment and introduce myself. Hope the vacation went well. Rich
I'm guessing here.... You can rush buy a building. If you switch 1/2 way thru construction, your build potential does not switch to the new building. Military projects (ships) the potential does switch. So the way the game is currently set up, you can build multiple social (building) projects due to the fact that the potential is not transfered, but it stays with the building that was being constructed. Military projects it does transfer, so if constructing a battleship and
