Although I answered AI to the poll, to me the most important part is replayability and fun. Ya it's nice if it has killer graphics, that the AI can kick my butt time after time and the music score would put Motzart or Pearl Jam to shame, but if you can only play it once or it isn't fun than it will soon be placed on the shelf with all the other crap and soon forgotten. Just my $.02 on the most important aspects. :D

Thanks for the info. A copy of what was changed with each version would be most helpfull. That was the bug I was refering to with the sliders. Also, and by rereading I see how I wrote if confusing, is if we can get some buttons attached to the sliders to lock one in place and adjust the others so that the first (locked) one doesn't change. I take it that the government types don't do anything yet? if they do, I havn't noticed any effect. What should I be looking for? Thank
Options are a good thing. Thanks CariElf :)
If autosave is turned on, than wait 50 or so turns befor the first save, then every 10-15 turns (I think it is set for every 12 now?). Just my pref.
I'm not sure what you mean. When I send a colony ship I can choose which planet in the system to colonize. When the computer colonizes, they only seam to go for the earthlike worlds (per the pictures). Then they stop colonizing, make lots of ships, and all declare war on me at once. Why doesn't the computer try to colonize all planets? How are the planets generated / catagorized? I used to play Traveler back in the old days, and I always think back in those terms e.g. gravi
On the Economic screen - Locks on the sliders when there are more than 2 (ie Military, Social & Research). - Also, check on how it is doing the math and rounding, at one time I had it reading 20%, 31% & 51% (for a tidy sum of 102%). - Spending rate had an odd jump one time: 49% 62bc 50% 61 51% 47 54% 45 - How come when you reload a saved game it places me into the science screen? It d
T-Man I think you were right. As the file in question is a zero byte, windows 98 cannot uncompress. I had this happen another time couple of years ago with some autocad documentation. Don't remember the fix then, but your fix of just eliminating the file has worked. Thanks for the work. Let me know if there is anything else.
Still not working for me. Any luck over the weekend?
T-Man I just emailed the two files (space01.pt_ & debug.err). Hope they help. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know. Thanks.
Tried it 4 times. It does download the space01.pt_ file again and still keep getting the error 13. What is a .ptb file do? I am trying this on my work computer and it doesn't have any speakers hooked up (there is a sound card), could that have anything to do? It is part of the Gfx folder so I suspect it is graphix related. This computer is optimized for AutoCad. Help anyone. Thanks
Ditto on the error 13. Will try the fix.
OK, got a grengin account. Wow, look at all the typos in my earlier post. Oops. (:( Sign me up if you would please. Thanks again. :)
I don't have a Drengin account yet (was waiting for Beta), but signing up won't be a problem. email me at mailto:[email protected] if you like. No real computer experience other that autocad, word, quatro pro, etc. but I do love to play games and I think helping out on the creation of one would be kinda fun. Heck, thinking about it out loud (out typing??!?), I'll sign up for Drengin later today and will use the above email. Thanks.
Ditto F J statement, do appreciate the words. (Who won the Basketball game?)
warcraft3 www.blizard.com/war3 master of orion 3 www.moo3.quicksilver.com age of mythology www.ensemblestudios.com/aom legion & dino islind i have never heard of, and my search engine came up with 30,000 + matches.... As i havn't heard of them, kinda hard to be looking forward to them. ;)
How does this role call thing work? I understand that you are to try and contribute to be involved in the Beta testing. Sounds like fun, although I have never beta tested a computer program since I did some old pascal programing back in collage 10 odd years ago. :D I'd be glad to volunteer some of my time to help make this a great game. As the weather in Detroit has been #@&$ lately, I wont have any construction to supervise for the next couple of months. Also, it does look to be a
From a mod point of view, it is far better to have large numbers than small, as this allows more freedom to do small tweeks and changes. If you have a move of 1, you can't increase it to 1.15 as it will just round it to 1. if however you have a movement of 10, you could do a small tweek to change it to 1.1 or 1.2 to add that 15% you wanted. I would recomend increasing all abilities/distances/units/etc. by a factor of 10 just for that purpose. As I have never played this game
Cool Thanks for the info. :)
Hi, I'm new here and new to the series. Connected thrue the Apolyton forums. What are the plans for having the game editable (is that a word?) by the players. I am thinking along the lines of a Civ2 scenario editor. I love the ability that if there is an aspect of the game that I do not find fun, that I can change it. Also, if I wish to make the game more complex (or simple) I have the option. One other thing I enjoyed was being able to creat new units with graphics etc.<br
