SimAquarium has been my most recent distraction. This would make a great gadget! Oooh, pretty! But, why "unfortunately"?
Tropic Falls is up now. Odyssey theme looks pretty wicked, messiah1. im in the concept and basic design phase of a desktopX mega suite... i want it to be a simplistic type of interface, where windows will look almost invisible. i want a almost spy movie like theme. Ooh, intriguing! Sounds good, epyk. So many cool things in the works. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 alig
*crawls out from under a rock* Wow! This is a very impressive player from a skinner's standpoint. I just went through the tuts in a breeze and I'm having a blast making my own player skins. I'm not much of a skinner by nature but I gotta say this really does put the art (and fun) back into skinning. I have tried using Xion but just seems to be using too much CPU
Good grief! That must've been a pain to put all those clips together. Very clever and funny. Now, what were they talking about? Kidding.
Nice cursor, Quentin. Is there anything you can't do? Boxxi...Altarian Jewels is looking very stylish. Love the look!
Okay, after several revisions here's the wall I'm going with for the 'Tropic Falls' vizion. So far I've got the water falling and the ripples in the water near the fall. Sound effects are done but I'm still fiddling with some other effects. Later.
BIG congratulations, DA. Your promotion, IMO, has been long overdue. Thanks so much for all the help and inspiration you've given us DX freshmen.
They all look great! I'm especially loving Q's Varient X2 and Athena. Great picks and great job by all.
Bravo, DA! Excellent work. Great tutorials. I'm sure there are alot of people getting help from these tuts but sometimes they don't comment (they might not even be WC members). I, for one, have learned alot and I applaud your efforts. Tutorials are hard to do and the fact that you've done so many in addition to these latest step-by-steps shows real dedication and passion. I commend you for your work, RomanDA. Thanks. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 align="a
Very well deserved, my friend! I'm sure you'll keep climbing. Keep up the good work.
I had a go at your problem and I worked something out. Let me make sure the setup is correct. toggle 1- toggles group 1 toggle 2- toggles group 2 toggle 3- toggles group 3 toggle 1,2,3 make up group 4 Master toggle, toggles group 4. Via scripting it also toggles groups 1,2,3 if any are visible, and restores everything to their previous visibilty (true or false). Master toggle is parent of toggle 1,2,3. This script goes in the master toggle:<br/
Good tip. I use it all the time in forms and never thought to try it with everything else.
Yeah, post the links to the widgets, please. I'm not gettig a clear picture of what you mean just yet. Spaces: Looks like you're postig via SDCentral. Don't use it myself but you could try using the line break code. (Type: " ")
First thing that pops in my head is that the creator of the widget/object used images stored on their own computer and did not include them in custom files. But it really could be any number of things. Can you give the name/link to the widget/object your having problems with?
Nice icons, Skinhit! Very cool. Hey, Quentin, WB looks great so far (Love that wall. Is it Bryce?) Neat animations, AVMAN. Especially, the ones that blast the files to smithereens.
Congrats Fairyy~!
I'm working on a Dream for XP. I call it a Vizion. If you've got one of those animated paintings hanging in your house somewhere you know what I'm talking about. I'm using DX to put up a wallpaper and add effects on top of it so it looks like animated wallpaper. I'll also add ambient sound. I'm not sure if it's going to be a different kind of 'theme' or a widget. I've got 2 in the works for 1024 x 768 resoutions; Summer's Night and Spring Falls Why? Because I don't hav
If you want to find the really dynamic widgets you've got to go into the personal galleries. I'm talking about RomanDA, Vad_M, Tiggz, and many many more (including these two guys above me). Widgets are only as inventive as their inventors. Inventors are only as inventive as their time and patience will allow. Not a whole lot of people have the time and patience to really dive into learning DX, coming up with new ideas, and then following through. By all accounts skinning is much easier
This is awesome. This is a great alternative to the above mentioned methods I've been using. Thank you, DA!
This is a very nice script. I see what you meant about the icon location. Some work some don't. I'll definitely put this in the updated version of the script helper. Oh, yeah and it's... First, I'd like to say sorry to sviz as I sent this to her & it was probably discombobulated No worries, though. Thanks again, SirS.
Very nice & very useful. Thanks!
The DESKTOPX SCRIPT HELPER is up and running. Thanks to all you guys for your help. The widget copies the initialization file to the DX application folder on startup now. I'll probably continue to update it with any modifications in future. So as always suggestion are welcome. Download Link
Hi, oxygenhazard. Just happened to be browsing through. I don't think you can add Appearance and Themes to the menu. However, everything you would find in 'Appearance and Themes', as you can see in Corky_O's first picture, is already listed in the menu. Display, folder options, taskbar & start menu are all there.
If you gave the gadget a shadow in DX Builder it will be there when you export, regardless of the shadow settings in gadget properties. As for z-order, how many objects make up this gadget? Did you set all of them to always on top before exporting?
