That was on their news page...I saw it, why didn't you? In fact, it's still there. 1.3 is a beta, therefore not an official release and has a few bugs of it's own (not many that I've found). Using it is optional, and wasn't headlined for that reason. How much more clear does it need to be? Im not intrested in the betas, Im talking about the fi

Stardock central only shows me the betas, never the finished versions. Never mind the silly journal, they need to get such info out on the home/news page. Tut tut! your all to forgiving, you should have at least 1 stardock employee strung up by the neck by now.

Yep, and if you don’t bring this to SD notice then that exact same thing will happen with the finished 1.3 you will be playing version 1.3 build 1 when unknown to your good self the final version will be version 1.3 build 12878934567, get what I’m talking about now?

I have been playing version 1.2 now for age's and just by chance I noticed that the 1.2 D/L on the stardock site is a higher build than the one I have been playing. Now it's obvious that there being a higher build that some bugs where splattered in update 1.2, but you didn’t tell anyone, so most people are still playing the unfinished version of 1.2. Please in future stick this info up on your news page.

We should start a petition asking Stardock to stop tarting GalCiv2 up and concentrate on the memory issue. I for one am fed-up with putting days into a game only for the stupid game to go top itself.

This memory problem has been with GalCiv2 from the word go, and my question is " why the hell is it still not fixed" what sort of memory management are they using on this turkey? I mean this game compared to most other popular games would be classed as a game of tidily winks.

No need for debug.err as it's not crashed yet on version 1.2 using the new force ware drivers which is a bit baffling seeing I was running the force ware drivers just before these new ones, so I wouldn’t consider them as being old, but I’m not holding my breath. It does cheat, cheats it's little balls off in fact, but even so I can still beat it so I wouldn’t say I was totally shite at the game.

30 Replies 19,896 Views

I used the cheat so I could see the hole universe from the start of a new game and believe me the game cheats like a cheap whore. Even on normal, the other race's produce 10 times the ships you can and they know exactly where all the best planets are and make a B-line straight for them. AI my bottom!

did experience crashes after upgrading to the 1.3 beta, but never experience one single crash after I upgraded my nvdia video driver to the latest version. You may want to try that first. D/L latest Nvidia will give them a try, it's the last chance for this game though. Every version of this game since version 1 has crashed, locked

A few minutes into play with beta 3 and I get a "Galactic civ II has encountered a problem and will have to close". I’ve just realized that this game crashes more than any other game I have ever owned,in fact I spend more time trying to fix the game than I do playing it. I also have realized that the Stardock programmers are not all that good and need to go back to school. I think it's time to give up on this turkey and try to recoup some of my wasted money "It cheats like hell anyway, a false

Its the AI. It so sensitive it knows that you are top class player and calculates it hasn’t got cat in hells chance of beating your superb tactics so it flicks the switch mainly because the AI is also a bad loser.

I want this game to have SF copy protection because. 1 Once ive installed the game there is no excuse to get the game cd out so I never get to admire and smell the beautiful packaging. 2 I am now use to upgrading my DVD-rom every couple of month’s due to SF blowing it up. Now it looks like I’m stuck with the same old model probably way past its warranty. 3 I’m bored, I have no problems to fix on my system anymore the b****y thing is running perfectly with zero storage re

Some people think the Stardock team are morons, they think Stardock don't know what's going on. They know there’s a pirate every one of us, they know some sad-acts will rob it. What makes Stardock so different is they know people will want to pay for what they have to offer, because they would. Success on a stick. I want this company to become rich so that they go off and

Brilliant game, but what I don’t understand is 3 patches’ on and they haven’t cleaned up the millions of small bugs, it would only take them about a hour to eradicate the whole lot, They do change's add new feature's yet leave these small but very annoying little bugs in the game. It's a shame as it gives the game a amateur look. Please Stardock before you give us more bell's and whistles, clean house. The
