Incidentally, we are also going to release a Galactic Civilizations II v1.4 shortly. Main changes will be an AI crash bug fix and some changes to morale and economics (we're going to make the morale buildings more powerful but the techs to get them MUCH more expensive). this was in the 10 october post in the journals.....nice!

yea i had everything on common and i found like 15 stars and only 4 had habbital planets, it sucked so i quit that game cause well i was in such a disadvantage already ...

sometimes i use them to try something, kinda like what you do. however most things i've already tried yet...so i just finish the game cause i am really bored with it. that is, the last part of the game, grabbing another 200 planets knowing you are the strongest and are gonna win anyway are pretty boring but needed for a conquest victory. so i just take the victory and start another game.

planetary defense is a waste, it makes your soldiers 25% better at that world, so your odds during an invasion are better. instead, use the tile for an extra farm, the extra people also make the odds better during an invasion cause you simply have more soldiers (not better) and they also pay tax

2) Switch to 100% military production and build a colony ship every 2 turns. When you colonize new planets, adjust the tax rate to get 100% morale there, too. Each planet you colonize will cause you to lose more money each turn. This is why we saved most of our starting money. what i usually do is just build ships on my homeplanet, this cau

well in my latest game on crippling level with 10 players in one game, i had the torians, who were not at war with me or were allied to me surrender to me while still having most of there planets. the IA surrenders (in my experience) to the best that they like. when they do not have allies or people who are friendly to them they might just surrender to the once they are at war with. might also have to do with the alligment.

bad morale also makes planets easier to capture (bribing a part of the population to fight at the invaders side). and i believe low morale makes planets join another civ faster.

the AI only creates a new design once every...6 months or 4 months with the new option on. i haven't seen the IA creating that many new designs. and the number, you sure its not just the number of ship that was produced? every ship has its own number.

than indeed i would make 100 small transport ships, invade all his planets with the best weapon i have, he would lose like 50% of all his space due to my weapons and i would have lost not to much, but he would be maimed. now you can exploit this to first send in 1B troops and do your best weapons, you kill like 10B of his, and your second transport with more troops and a less effective but also less damaging weapon will take over the planet. i like my option 2 better, the way i

in 1.31 my turn button is green kinda like the whole time i believe. i've seen it green for sure. i like to add a glitch: 5: when your designing your new ship wich has lets say 172 hull space, when i was adding stuff lke weapons to the ship it went up to 173 hull space out of the 172 several times, and when you than try and save the ship it doesn't, no error message will be given it just doesn't save. first time i didn't notice this untill i wanted to build the ship.

i use mini soldiers allot if i attack a planet with very low moral, i use information warfare sometimes. and i use mass drivers at the end of the game were the planet i invade is not needed anymore.

mmm give stardock your debug thingy cause your game seems bugged. in my last game the drengin declared on me, there militairy was like 10 times as big as me, they were ahead in research, we had about the same ammount of systems cause i just taken over a few from another race. i fought him (and won cause my 1 ally was the strongest in the game and declared war on the drengin to defend me, and by my suprise actually did help me!)

well i play 1.31 and i still tax them 70-80% yea, its a little bit harder, it requires allot of micromanagment but if you have like 30 planets that doable. also if you play on crippling or above, the 1.3 make your startup harder, not the mid/endgame. from what i have heard, the people that do not like the changes in 1.3 are because they want the "lazy economy". i like to have to th

opinions are divided over what is the best, some say 1.2, some say 1.3 (no one says 1.1 i believe). 1.3 has some great new things, but the people that go for 1.2 do that cause 1.3 made economy allot harder to build. thus making the game harder. i like it, i like 1.3(1) and i don't want to go back, but some did. majorty stayed for 1.3 though. simply cause of 100 new things that were added/fixed/tweaked.
