The so-called "Flagship" is just a Medium Hull Survey ship. No more, no less. I upgrade this ship to a "Battle Cruiser" as soon as I have researched enough techs and because of anomally bonus+++ it is a good mid-game ship !!!!!!!!!!! Later game , I send it to orbit my home world as a planet defender.

STARBASES RULE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eco-Bases, Influ-Bases, Military-Bases .... Building and constant upgrades of Starbases is one of the main tasks of this game, and IMHO one of the BEST !!! Yes, large fleets are fun, BUT a really BUILT StarBase is .................... ****AwwSuMe****
To SScottishpride: Check out "The Wild Weasle" post on this forum by AngleWyrm for some good info on how to make a tough to beat fleet.
@scott the p0rqcup and El Cong have great points ..... It IS LIKE THIS: Use more than one fleet to attack them on the SAME turn ..... To do this use: ===> better ship speed and sensor range ........... also -> I think AngleWyrm wants a shot at this BATTLE !!!!!!!!!!!! Byram
Thank you to BoomFrog for this point ... it took me a few games to get the pop vs prod and bc things so I could build a good economy ...
And as GraigHB said in post#4 I go to the location he identified and DELETE all my old ship types .... ...and start over with a clean slate, because I learned how to make much better ships for my next game ...
Thanks to AngleWyrm and P0rcup1ne !!!!!!!!! I have added these Wild Weasel/Martyr ships to my battle fleets in ver 1.2 and in combination the "swap out damaged ships" strat, I have been able to turn the war in my favor. This forum is a great place for new ideas !!!!!!!
Yes, this would be like the whole "Soylet Green" thing which has been tossed around a few times on this forum ... so a food bonus yes, but maybe a ... ... a morale penalty !!!! The average citizen probably does NOT think being soup kitchen slop is a good fate !!!!!
The Yor and Meklar are not really a match ... Yor are more like Cylons, robots thru and thru, while the Meklar are CYBORG like, part living creature and part machine...
And yes, PIRATES ROCK your world. Once as Terrans I got stuck with the prison AND when them pirates Xcaped, they wiped me out !!!!! It was early game and my navy was very weak... good for me I had a SAVE game before the UP vote and I was able to avoid this, heheheehe ... TOTAL CHEESE, I know ....
Wow, I never have played as the ALt-terrans, NOW I think I will !!!!!!!!
Because as you be come more efficient in adding weapons and defense, you will get a knack for adding the "extras", which make ship designs so unique.
I agree with delta leader's point about each game needs it's own ship designs. To Citizen Zephr99 : With each game as you design more and more ships, they will not only be better performance wise, but will look cooler and cooler !!!

For Caprion: I think the idea is, you attack with Mass Drivers, Core detonation or whatever, AND the attack FAILS, the planet defense STOPPED your attack, so the next option is to try again.
To the Great DreadArchon - Drath Lt. of the Painful level. Yes, if you stake out your border and destroy any ships that cross into your space, then IT IS YOUR space. But this would make enemies of any friendly or neutral races whose ships that you blast.
You have raised several good points here Citizen The Singer. Rally points allow an automated method to move ships to a designated location for advanced fleet operations, such as planet invasions or Starbase defense. For ship upgrades the correct method is to modify in the shipyard and SAVE. Then you can select which ships to upgrade to the saved type. To force a planets Starport to stop building ships, go to the shipyard and select "Nothing" as the
Citizen adrianschenk: The DreadArchon makes a good point. I have found that careful evaluation of the AI soldering tech level is crucial to effective invasion. I have suffered many terrible defeats and destroyed many good planets due to poor pre-attack intel. Good luck and good hunting.
For Citizen Hursty75: Think of it like this - no race can own space. All ships are free to travel as long as they offer no threat to neutral parties. Tertullian makes a very good point about how the AI may view YOUR fleet moves however. I have found that the AI does NOT like to see your TRANSPORT ships on the main map. You can move transports from one planet to another, but the AI will NOT like transport ships parked in space, even in "your" own territory. Just kee
An intelligent and complete answer to a very good question by a serious student of the Galactic Civilzations universe. Thank you to Darth Kryo (The Great) And also, please DO NOT terminate this forum StarDock.
@Heroine4Life, Not a bad plan, but the AI never seems to give that good a deal..
@prolifico If you disable trade, how do you give away your ships ? Or am I missing sumthing ?
Wow, I give my allies Senors II, NOT MY SHIPS !!!!! Do you give them PLANETS TOO ?????
No big deal any way ... I know what the tech does ... So the goofy post-tech comment is lost on me ...
