It is difficult to compare Sins and GC2. One's a RTS, the other's a TBS. Sins is the sort of game that has a lot of different levels to it. The basic strategies aren't very deep, but the abilities and techs can lead to all sorts of complicated strategies and tactics. Large games can often turn into games of chess.
it'll certainly run it, dunno how well. Repost this in the right forum and you should get some more responses
Previously (ie a month or two ago) if you pre-ordered you had the option of playing betas. The betas are now closed so effectively there is no benefit now.
Probably a bit too far IMHO. Spore suffered from trying to do too much, it tried to have so many features that in the end none of them were particularly good. Games like Sins and GalCiv work well because they don't try and do too much.
Apart from Sins, GC2 etc (duh..) 1. Demigod 2. Empire TW after promised gameplay upgrades (too many annoying niggles ATM) 3a. Starcraft 2 if it is ever released if not... 3b. Sims 3

Imagine what would happen if Anny went psycho. It would take several years for us to get him banned [e digicons]:P[/e]
Think about it - what if the server you got the hacked version from was down? Would you complain to them and say 'now I'm playing on a legitimate one so I won't have any of these problems again.' Sure there might be the odd technological glitch, but would you prefer them to release patches on open servers with painfully slow downloads, large file sizes and possible install problems. Your complaint about backporting may have some validity, yo
I started thinking of Murray Walker when I saw the thread title. As it is, this is about as OT as it is possible to be in the OT forum.
I won't claim to understand this thread [e digicons]>_>[/e]
I might be able to add something to this. I have played Sins a lot, but not online at all (originally due to a slow rig that lagged horribly - I got booted pre-game for major lagging even on low settings when I tried, now due to a bad internet connection that hopefully will soon be sorted out). I generally play for the fun of it ie spend half my time putting on cinematic mode and zooming round battles instead of sorting out my empire, so I suspect I would get hamm
The name kind of gives it away - the unfair level was a request by beta testers for a difficulty where the AI gets bonuses. As for ganging up on you, that is probably due to opportunism and bad luck rather than hardcoded AI choices.
Its sounds good in concept. The main problem would probably be the amount of work the engine would be put under. Given the number of strikecraft involved in late-game battles, it would be a frame-rate assassin. Then again, clever programming might be able to make it a purely aesthetic thing - where the fighters dogfight while the damage targeting and the like stays the same. That might work without killing the engine, and would look really cool.
On and Anny how have you managed to gain yet more Karma since the last time I posted? I'm quite glad of my +4 [e digicons];P[/e]
Sounds like either an issue with your account or with payment. I can't remember anyone else posting with a similar problem.
Sorry, but its not like its for a big corporation, and the scouts are a good cause and dont get any government funding either. Also good use of a classic monty python sketch
I couldn't resist putting the link in (I have great fun trying to post it on the real spam threads on the ETW forums before they get nuked). I agree that the Scouts aren't spammers.
I'm in a pedantic mood today - Ironclad not Stardock in the thread title.
