Eve is a very experimental MMO, in that everyone is on the same server and no one player can have much power on their own. The only way to get anywhere is to join one of the alliances. After the biggest one called Band of Brothers was wiped out in an outrageous bit of corporate espionage (see http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/57098), the biggest one now is probably Goonfleet. The biggest have literally thousands of members. I'm not an MMO player, b
They're definitely going along the Batman Begins line with it. Some fans won't like it, but I don't think that another film could have been made with TNG people. The last few two felt like fan-only films, and Nemesis was a bit of a flop, although that was in part due to releasing it in competition with James Bond, Harry Potter and a certain film about two towers and a few orcs.
If you want to 'try before you buy' then wait for the demo.
And with respect to system jumping, its between suns only.
Yes, this connection code isn´t ready for release yet. Maybe it works for ~70% or something like that. But you´ll have to wait up to 2 minutes in order to join a game. This isn´t acceptable
Which is why they are working on it [e digicons]:)[/e]
It has been mentioned by the honourable Frog himself. I can't see it being released before Demigod is launched for obvious reasons. So hopefully late April or May. Apparently its going to be a very basic beta to start with, it will be on a basic cloth map while they make the make graphics engine useable. So it will be a real beta-testers beta without much of the functionality. I wouldn't expect the main graphics and the like to appear until later

I have a M1530 laptop which can run M2TW and Sins on max, but runs Empire dreadfully. Its still playable, but not what I hoped for. Naval battles seem to run an awful lot better than the land ones.. I'm not one to complain about settings though. My old rig (well I still have it, just don't use it any more) ran M2TW on low and couldn't even manage Sins on medium, so I'm used to rubbish graphics. I find that the game is more important than the look
Frogboy was too busy talking and got himself killed [e digicons]:P[/e]
M2TW was better for people who hadn't played RTW. However ETW is from the guys who made RTW (CA have two studios) and the reviews so far suggest that it is a worthy successor to RTW. I remember being very interested in a sci-fi game called Genesis Rising. I played the demo a couple of times, and never again. Turned out it was solely dependent on repetitive micro with very little strategy and very little fun. Disappointed by this, I looked around
I don't think there is a computer than can play Sins and not run IE7.
My favourite Sins moment was when I was playing on a large multi map and there were basically just two factions left. I got my whole fleet in one system and sent a massive fleet into a grav well where my enemy's main fleet was positioned. It decided that this was not a good place to fight and was retreating when my second fleet came in from behind. The entire game lasted only about 10 more minutes...
There is no limit on the number of downloads. Aren't Stardock nice? [e digicons]:inlove:[/e]
There's something called sending an email to stardock or ironclad support... If its Impulse crashing on you, send to
It is with the new update [e digicons]:)[/e]
Do we need the full SoaSE update or just the entrenchment one to play?
If IC can recreate the crash with your minidump files then it will be fixed in the next patch
I certainly agree that Starbases need a reasonable amount of flak. I don't like gettng carrier swarmed...
The ETW forums have been hilariously busy recently with people desperately wanting to play the demo. Stardock forums are much more civilized. Unless that new beta isn't available in the next few hours... [e digicons]}:)[/e]
All your starbase are belong to us
I do agree that Starbases need proper anti-fighter swarm tech - either they get flak turrets or strikecraft should be nerfed to some extent against them. When you think about it, one little fighter is hardly going to do much damage to such a large structure (unless one happens to pop a photon torpedo down an exhaust port [e digicons]:P[/e] )
Hmmmm... I only have one gripe. The black egdes around every object makes it look a tad bitmappy, or maybe like stickers on a frigde. The french diablo clone silver fall had the same cartoonish effect but to me it seemed like all objects where sort of not part of the enviroment.
Read the disclaimer. It won't look like that when its released, those are probably just placeholders until
