There's a number in the bottom left corner of the main title screen, but I don't any difference between .068 and .072. They both read as 1.5X3.

i also think we should be able to use those uninhabitable planets for something other then nice little circles on my zoomed out map. i think a habitable planet in a system with other solid uninhabitable planets should be able to set up some sort of base for extra manu points and for other gas giant and/or ringed planets youd get research points. i know we already do this for rings and moons around the colonized planet but there is no added bonus for being in a 5 planet
I really like the idea of supply lines for starbases. it would deffinitly eliminate the hassel of dealing with constructors. however for those worried about not being able to blow up incomming constructors to enemy starbases, id say maybe make it like a trade rute were you could kill the little transports that are constantly running back and forth. for every little guy you kill it sets the production/bonuses of that starbase back an apropreat amount.
I've gotten sucked in to playing after 2:00AM several times... Amateurs!
Have you tried out the new patch, Belanos, to confirm that the fog of war issue on gigantic maps has been fixed? Yes, it's fixed. At least I haven't encountered it since I installed the patch. Though I have hit Ctrl-N alot just to make sure, so it's pretty much certain.
I was just thinking about star bases and came up with some ideas. First, you would only need to build one Constructor, to build the initial starbase. Once constructed, a supply line is established to the nearest planet with a Starport, similar to the way the Asteroid Fields now work. Or you could if you wanted, select another planet with a Starport to supply it, with some consequences I'll mention later. If you wanted to build a module, you would click on the starbase itself
Heartbreaking. Moral of the story: check for updates more. It's probably just as well that you didn't, you avoided the fog of war issue.
I'm not seeing ANY patch available. I have the latest version of Stardock. Go into SDC's Internet options and flush the XML. The new patch should up after that.
It would also be kind of cool to expand the idea to research stations. You get something unique in the universe and you set up a station to study it. The information you gain gets sent back to the nearest planet, boosting it's research. Maybe have stations in rings around uncolonized planets, and/or have certain anomalies become permanent.
Have you updated your game recently? There was a bug in the initial 1.5X patch that had all Metaverse games flagged as cheats. .068 fixed that but introduced a fog of war bug. .072 fixed that.
Are you saying the FOW bug only appeared on big maps? Yeah, it was only occuring on Gigantic maps. Which sucked for me since that's all I play. Thankfully it's fixed now.
No, that will have to wait a bit longer. And they aren't invincible, just stronger than they should be. I guess the devs figured since it wasn't a game-breaking issue, just a balance one, that it could wait for a bit.
I suppose the mechanics are there (do manufacturing multiplier tiles multiply manufacturing capitals' output?) and it could be implemented then. I've seen this discussed, capital buildings don't get any benefit from bonus tiles apparently. I don't know firsthand though.
The same problem did not occur for Galciv 2, apart from the prettier graphics, what's changed? DA is a bit more demanding than DL, it's something that alot of people have been noticing. More features requires more horsepower on your system and I guess your video card just can't handle it anymore. Laptop video cards are notorious for not being able to play games all that well, they're just not designed for them. Like I said, you're lucky to be able to p
That should be an option that's right inside the designer, same as saving ships to disk. At the very least it should be turned off by default. It took me a long time to figure out what was going on. All I wanted to do was look at the default ships and see how they were put together, but I wasn't able to. For a newbie that's rather important, it gives them a reference as to how to go about designing their own ships.
No you're not the only one, it was pretty much universal. It was a problem that cropped up in the .068 release. Fortunately, they just released a new patch today that fixes it. Go to Stardock Central and look for version .072. If it's still only showing .068, go to the Internet options in the top tool bar and have it clear the XML. That will bring up the new patch.
So I guess my question is, if I start the Dreadlord campaign will it have the features implemented with Dark Avataar? (new graphics, asteroid mining, tech requirements for colonisation ect) and if not, where would you recommend a complete noob starts Should I just jump straight into dark avataar? No it won't, you'll only get those with the Dark Avatar. Personally I never bothered with the campaigns, I just jumped into the sand box mode, as everyone seems
I don't really understand why they're only considered large hull vessels. Starbases are supposed to be huge, far larger than most ships. At least in any sci-fi program/movie I've ever seen. Even our lowly space station is much larger than the ships that are supplying it. A huge hull would be much more appropriate, and would help beef it up some. I've changed that in my game. I might alter the offense/defense capabilities of the various modules too, once I get that far into the game and see how t
Because production tiles only boost actual production, not boosts of boosts. They do not (I believe) simply multiply whatever structure is placed upon them. If a structure provides X production, it would be multiplied by the tile. If a structure provides a % bonus to production, it would NOT be multiplied by the tile. You follow? After just starting a new game, I realized that we already have two buildings that work on a percentage
Go to the internet section of SDC's settings and flush the XML. That should allow you to see the latest version (I had to do this myself). Yep, that did it. Thanks.
Yah, when I opened SDC it updated SDC, and now I just went in again, still reads .068. Same here. I decided to update thinking I might need that one first but .072 still doesn't show up.
I don't see a .072 patch on SDC, but my game now reads 1.5X3. Does that mean I'm updated? I just hit Ctrl-N a number of times and didn't get the fog, so I'm guessing I am.
WTF? I'm not seeing it on Stardock. Do I need to have .068 installed first?
Any info about the patch yet? Well I guess we won't see it today, they've all probably gone home now. Hopefully tomorrow. It's not that the game is unplayable this way,... It is for me. And I heard there's another gamebreaking bug, about a wrong defense type in battles... does anyone know what it does exactly, and will the patch fix it? Defences of the
Thats alright, just send in the pirate mega event! they will soon clean the place up!! They actually have a hard time with Starbases, at least when it happened to me. The only thing of mine that remained alive was a mining starbase I managed to get a Battlestation module built on to it. I had a Constructor on route to another starbase when the event occured, but I managed to get it to a base that had already been built. They lost the battle and never bo
