Any idea which file adds the glare at the top of the console anyone? I just tried to figure it out but I couldn't. At least I don't have glare on my mini-map anymore in case I can't work it out.
Belanos
Any new release would qualify as the "next patch"--I didn't mean to imply it would wait until 1.6. I expect the devs will put this fix up as soon as they're able since it's already been made, there just wasn't time to build and post a new version on SDC before the weekend. Ah, thank you for the reassurance, I was expecting the worse. I tried going to back to the vanilla game but it just doesn't cut it anymore, nor does Dreadlord
Actually, the glare is part of the main console image. So you'll need to edit Main_Consule_Back.png within the .dxpack (you can rename it to .zip and just open it with a zip program), and remove the glare in a graphic editing program. Once you're done, just put the new image back into the .zip, and rename it back to .dxpack. Thanks for that info Kryo. I don't even like the glare at the top of the console. Now I know how to get rid of it. And t
FOLLOW-UP: Works perfectly; did just what you did, Belanos. KHSM with HRGM combined in the "default" mods folder. Just be careful in the future if you add any more mods. Make sure that their files aren't going to be overwritten by each other. Not a problem with those two
Got a link to that? It doesn't sound very SD to me, and would disappoint me greatly if it were true. Yes, right here: WWW Link According to his statement, they all ready have it fixed so it would just be a question of releasing another version of 1.5X.
It's also traditional around here to tell new folks to Learn Your GC2 Economics! As you practice colonizing, developing worlds, and building fleets, keep a close eye on what these changes do to your budget. Be careful when you get events that artificially boost your economy. There's one "empire event" that does it directly and there's another United Planets resolution that boosts your population's morale temporarily, which allows you to crank u
Well it is annoying but you can play through it. I would think we will see a new update next week to fix this if enough people have sent in the issue to the bugz email. I can live with it for now even though it is a pain. According to Kryo, they're not planning on releasing a fix until the next patch release, which is way too long to wait as far as I'm concerned.
What i'm saying is can i put more then 1 mod in the generic mods folder enable it and the mods work? Thanks -Picard55 You can only have 1 mod active at a time. However, you can combine multiple mods into one folder, providing they aren't overwriting each other's files.
since the lastest patch, the fog of war will not disappear on three sectors from the edge of the map... very annoying! It's a gamebreaker for me. I don't want to play if I have to keep looking at that ugly grey background all the time. It really pisses me off since I went out and spent $150 on a wireless setup so I could get on the internet and upgrade the game. And now I can't even play it. And the tech trading is too drastic a change for me to want to
since the lastest patch, the fog of war will not disappear on three sectors from the edge of the map... very annoying! Well maybe if enough people get on this thread and voice their concern in the meantime, they might actually do something about it. Kryo has mentioned that it has been fixed in their new patch build, so it shouldn't be a big deal to give us a new version of 1.5 that fixes the problem.
I just restart and it goes away. What do you mean, you load from a save? Or do you restart the game? Because I've hit Ctrl-N a number of times and it still keeps coming back.
I take that back, this game is unplayable. I seem to be encountering this bug every single game I play. I guess it's going to be sitting on the shelf until someone does something about it.
This game is almost unplayable for me with this problem, and I don't want to play smaller maps. And as I understand it the problem has been corrected and is awaiting the next patch release. But I don't want to have to wait another month or so until I can play this game without the frustration of constantly encountering this bug. So how about a .069 release that solves this problem? You made a special patch for the metaverse problems, and I'd say this is just as serious as that one was. This is a
But all 3 of it's planets I captured to win the game all had 6,7, and then 10 research labs (on each planet respectively). However, this is in Dread Lords not DA...cannot say much about that. It hasn't changed much. I'm seeing mainly Factories and Research Labs, with the odd Market. There's no diversification with any of their planets, they all get built the same way. Even when they're at risk of a cultural takeover, they won't deviate enough
A larger map size for those of us with machines that can handle it. The game right now barely pushes the envelope on my system. Just a couple of extra rows all around would be nice. With 9 races, it would give each one a generous area to expand into.
I want to use two mods together: I have the folders KHSM and High Res Graphics Mod, I can just put the files in one or the other folder (KHSM and High Res Graphics Mod), and use THAT folder in-game? Thanks I've done just that. All I had to do was copy all the folders of the High-Res mod into my Default folder, which is where I had copied Kryo's mod previously. Everything's working just fine.
So I've been scanning the software shelves at my local retail stores that carry software and so far I've come across ZERO DA boxes. That's because there are none. DA has not been released as a stand-alone through retail outlets. The only way to get it that way is to purchase the Gold edition. That comes with the expansion included.
-The AI builds Fusion plants etc. on planets that have little to no manufacturing buildings. This is useless, to my knowledge, in that for a fusion plant (or whatever) to be worthwhile, there has to be X factory-type buildings, where X is a number that will at least equal the output of one building. I.E. - For fusion plants (+25% - could be wrong on that though), you need a minimum of FOUR factory-type structures in order to justify having the power plant (4 x.25 = 1);
An option to choose balanced starting positions would be nice. As it is now, at least one player gets a terrible start unless I ctrl+n a hundred times. Better spacing would certainly be welcome as far as I'm concerned. I'm playing Gigantic maps with 9 civs, and I had one game where 6 of us started out in one corner of the map. There should be a minimum distance between races, large enough that each one can develop a respectful empire. I hate playing game
3. Do something about the ridiculous advantage of huge ships over smaller hulls, especially given that the AI has an obvious preference for smaller hulls. I suggest, quite simply, an innate speed advantage for smaller hulls which would take effect when higher levels of technology are introduced. Make a fleet with a dreadnaught in it be inherently slower than a group of small and medium ships. This would give human players who like large and huge based assault
I would really, really like the game to be paused when I'm in a Starport selecting a ship build. Especially in the case where I have just established a new planet and gone into it's Starport to have it build something. It is so, so annoying getting in there just to have some event come up that kicks me out. Then I have to try and track that planet down and go through the process all over again.
Yes, there is a bug with the Fog of War not dissipating properly in .068. It is already fixed on the devs' end and the fix will be in the next patch. Any chance of a hot fix being released for this problem? The game is unplaybale for me as is. I'm going to be reinstalling the default game until that's been dealt with.
Hi all. This issue has been adressed and fixed in Stardock's internal build. It will appear in the next patch. Tea! It sure would be nice if they would release a hot fix for this issue. The game is pretty much unplayable for me as is.
Granted that it was too easy in the vanilla game, but I think it's gone too far in the opposite direction. I'm playing a Super Isolationist custom race and before I could trade Barren Worlds for Aquatic or Toxic plus several other techs and some cash. It would stand to reason that a reasonable trade would be a straight swap, but I can't even do that now. I tried trading my tech plus a few others for one of their colonization techs and they just weren't interested. I even tried trading my colony
And it shouldn't, so I'd expect it was some other issue preventing it from working initially. Well it did. I had entered in the serial that came on the disk and it didn't register. As soon as I entered the code for DA that I recieved via email from Stardock, the activation was completed.
