I've encountered this bug where the ships that were gifted by an AI to another AI, in this case the Yor to the Drengin, and those ships have not moved in a long time.
I have notepad, and I didn't know I could just open it with that, so. ok

since I can't view XML for some reason (and I don't know how to anyway), can someone tell me whats new in the InvTactics.xml, Anomalies.xml, and events.xml? because if theres anything cool in them, I could put them in the normal game files like someone said I could do with the fleet formations stuff? and secondly, when I move the new fleet formations stuff into the main game files, should I delete the old ones or does it not really matter?
oh I think I see my problem, I have 'only show fleet battles if both sides are fleets' checked. THAT must be what it is. edit: yep, that was my problem.
yea, that does sound wierd because if the AI is set to intelligent, they shouldn't make those stupid moves.

I'm also having a strange thing in relation to ship battles. I have yet to see more than 2 ships in a battle, so even if I have a fleet of say two ships and I attack a planet, it'll just show a quick animation of the explosions, no battle vid screen rather than show both ships in my fleet and the defending ship. same thing with space battles, if I have a fleet of say 3 ships and I attack a fleet of one, it does the same thing as above most of the time. Sometimes it does this when atta

the way to quote someone for something JJ is by putting brackets around the word quote.. [ ] I usually use the highlight and the quote button thing, but for some reason I was unable to do it like that, and I had forgotten what the code was at that moment for quot
it also needs to learn to build factories as well on planets like those because in one game where the Drengin kept trying to build a ship on thier class 4 world (one of thier worlds in thier system, I forget the name of it) and they had a factory going, but the time to completion was never. I guess the planets specialization was set to military. and the intelligence was at beginner, so dunno
quote: Also, the Yor were following my initial survey ship around with two fighters, with the ship as their destination like they were going to attack it. We are not at war. The fighters would bump into it and the camera would jerk to it, but they never launched an attack. After it did that about half a dozen times, they sent the fighters back to one of their colonies. unquote sounds like the Yor were making sure your ship wasn't up to no good and they later felt satisfied.
did you look at the readme? and are you sure you have the 1.2 beta compatible version? also, you need to start a new game in order for the changes to take effect, so....
ok then. but what about the intelligence setting automatically changing to reflect the difficulty level? this is what I meant.

I'm having this strange bug when I'm starting a new game, when I change the difficulty level, the race intelligence doesn't change accordingly, only a few change thier intelligence, this seems to be a random thing because the ones that do and don't change thier intelligence according to the difficulty seems different each time I do a new game (through the main menu, not ctrl+N. so I have to manually sync the intelligence levels. also, there may be a bug with minor races in that they g
also, in another game where I played as the Yor and with minor races on (the game was on simple or beginner difficulty, I forget atm), the Snathi somehow went really fast in technology and even though they had advanced pretty good, I had no difficulty in crushing them however, when I attack a planet with ships in it, I just see the ship or fleet thats attacking send a missile or whatever at th
I am getting the occasional CTD in a regular game after doing ctrl+N a couple of times which is new with this version of the patch, I'd give a debug.err after a crash but I don't know how to post one. and I've gotten that campaign crash too. although in the first mission, on simple difficulty, my ally, the Altarians went and got the drengin planets anyway, or actually the second drengin planet just decided to surrender to the Altarians. Is this suppoused to happen or not in the first
I believe this problem is going to be fixed in a 1.2 beta update today or something.
dead tree sales? what does that mean? anyway, I don't get what you mean either. its probably something complicated that has to do with the exchange rates between the US Dollar and the Canadian Dollar and a whole bunch of market related stuff. basically theres a whole lot of factors. and direct download is usually more expensive I think anyway. and its probably that since you are buying directly from Stardock, it costs a little more than it would if it was bought at the sto
yea, its an annoying thing. however there is the chance to mod the UI with 1.2, so the players can easily go and fix it ourselves
I sometimes use a sort of theme, depending on what race I'm playing as. For instance, my Korx ships have an economic theme to their names: Monopolizer (a troop transport), Establisher (a constructor), Franchiser (a freighter), etc. Right now I'm playing as the Drath--and since they're reptillian, I'm gonna pull inspiration from that for my classes' names.
I assume you are trying to get it to work in windowed mode? anyway, go to options and video, and select the resolution you want and unselect the fullscreen checkbox. that should do it. otherwise, I don't get what exactly you are trying to ask. and yes the game does have the minimum resolution that you want to use.
some of those naming conventions like using letters to show the class type or the function sound useful. in the demo, I usually name them by thier function, such as if its a faster version of a constructor or colonizer, I call it a fast colonizer or fast constructor. since the demo doesn't tell the difference between user made ships that are of a different hull style than which I'm currently using, I put like Drengin fastcolony or something, but I plan on stopping using that in the fu
