yea, theres several racial image and racial symbols and image packs and symbol packs up for download in the library, I don't know the code for doing that. although you could look at CariElf's modding guide. link to the thread about the modding guide: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=118797#916814

well you like the system that MOO2 had, which is fine because you are entitled to your own opinion, but I like the way the GalCiv2 shipbuilder works. if you want to just go for more functional than for looks, fine, nothings stopping you from doing that. everybody has thier own preferences and playstyle

think a nice feature would be hull design. I would love to be able to design hulls inside of the game without the use of a third party mod. Don't get me wrong, modding is a huge part of the fun for this game but unless you thoroughly enjoy that and have the patience to wait for the modder such as Kryos to come out with the update for the current patch. Therefore i

Wow! Is it heresy to like the mod interface _better_ than the normal one? Great job team, looking forward to b2 I never said it's heresy to like the mod interface better than the normal one. I was just stating my opinion.

personally I kind of like the mettalic 'shiney' look. but yea, I'd like to remove the 'shineyness' from the minimap, which kind of obscures things in that top area. having the rest of the UI looking 'shiney' is np for me.

well, in the demo, I try to get to ion drive at least so that I can build faster versions of the colonizers which are a cargo hull with one colony module (500 mil colonists work just as well as 1 billion colonists) and at least two ion engines and a general or basic suppourt module, so within a few turns, I'm cranking out the fast colonizers rather than the core colonizer that you start with. and I've developed my colony rush method pretty well, making sure not to expand too fast and too many pl

well, unlike some games such as CoH/CoV, WoW which only have a limited set of choices for customization (creating the character in those games cases), the shipbuilder has a potential for a near infinite combinations because there are so many choices and many hardpoints, and each piece actually adds hardpoints, so it'll look like some randomized mess with possibly hundreds of thousands of pieces and you don't even know what's connected to what if you wanted to remove some pieces. in some games, t

I don't know about that. besides the full game is WAY better than the demo, especially patched, plus the demo doesn't have all of the files that the full game would have, so I don't know if its compatible. It'll be ALOT more fun to do shipbuilding in the full game anyway, plus theres alot of improvements to the shipbuilder. and you can even use Kryo's hull mod. if you want to save the models, maybe you could take screenshots of them? just a thought.

the defenses mostly just look like plates anyway, nothing special really. So is the weapons mod compatible with Kryo's hull mod? I can't find out for myself atm because I just have the demo right now. I could certainly use the weapons mod along with the Kryo's mod.

I don't know whats going on with it, but since they started putting up the new poll (I saw them putting it up), it showed to me as if I had already voted, but I've never voted on the new one. Right now it shows all of the choices as the bars and some are filled and some are partially filled and as of posting this, there are 5 votes, mine is not included as I never voted in the first place. EDIT: nevermind, I can see it as the normal vote box, I guess the devs were putting thier own votes in f

calm down, you are just limited to 3 years per game, you can play a new game and your ship designs are saved for later use in the demo. AFAIK, there is no limit to how many days you can use the demo, just a limit of how long of a game you can play in the demo. So you can keep playing again and again, you'll just reach the demo time limit after 3 years.
