Ah, that would be the damn, "System Defined". That's a whole other ballgame. One of the few times I swear at WB. I know its not the program's fault, it just feels better to grump. I don't know WHY skinners refuse to assign something to every system defined color and font. So I if have a purple background, and the skinner uses a purple font but doesn't assign the background color. Now I have something I can't see even to change it. A couple ways to change. Use t

OK, when you open WindowBlinds there will be a menu up at the top that says, "Settings" When you open that go to a table that says, "Per application" You will see and "Add" button at the bottom where you chase down your app and then once you have it you sellect the very first item, "Ignore this item and not skin it" and press OK. You have to do this for each app, but only once. The settings are not linked to the skin. Voila, all done. <img src="http://we

Is it battery life? Screen resolution? Playing games on it? Lots of storage space? Whatever your answers are, there is one thing I highly recommend: either buy one with an SSD or buy one with an hard disk and replace it later with a Samsung or Intel SSD.[/quote] I forgo

Ok, has WoW been using this world since the beginning (some years now) or just recently have they migrated to what these guys say is theirs? If they have been using it all along (WoW in its present form was released in 2004) then has there been communication since then? Or are these folks (probably at the advice of their lawyers) suddenly saying, "You know, they have nicked your code." I have a lot of doubt for someone who knew there was a new game in town of the genre they program for

I have gone from 130kg to 93.5kg. Unfortunately, since hubby came home from the Middle East I'm back to 100kg I think loosing the initial 36.5kg was easier than re-loosing what I gained since he came back. Windows 7 calculator has a conversion function. Click on view and you will see it. I've used it many, many times while gaming to have a reasonable unit-based conversation (usually about weight of all things) Although I didn't impress a Brit I met by telling him I

I gotta find my pencil and print that out. My mind is running in circles trying to keep track of all the small things. Sure looks like fun! Thanks. Funny how you were listening to two very similar threads in two forums.

I can't help you with exact specs, but I have a rule of thumb I use when getting down to the fine choices. 1) If it is something hard to replace or that might become difficult to find, buy the best now 2) If it is something you yourself can easily upgrade, then if push comes to shove it is something you can put off for initial purchase then do so. An easy example is a monitor. You can do with a scrubby one until you get more (since it is a laptop then this doesn't appl

I'm glad I am not hurrying. But it sure sounds like fun. I should have something I like by fall I think :) Don't worry about helping me until I've messed myself up thoroughly. I estimate that to be about May as it will be a side line of a couple other projects.

I don't mind the little guys most of the time. It's only when they all meet together at once in front of my mouse that it gets creepy. I thought that it was coincidence, didn't realize there could be a cause. I thought maybe other people had ghosts too! The odd one is the one that swims on top of the screen saver, I wonder if I could set them all to do that. I think I'll just keep putting them to the other monitor. <img style="vertical-align: middle; dis

I am trying to wean from Windows Sidebar. The thing is a memory hog and this is the only gadget I really care about. The rest I use are weather ones and I can survive with the available ones even though they do not have all the data I like to have at my fingertips (and use less than my favorite provider) I will investigate eventually to see if I can get the data and provider I want with the weather gadget because it does have good documentation. As for the earthquake gadget, I really wa

I have the gadget that is just the map too, but I like my IRIS bookmark better. With it you can gently click the little ring you want and have the data show up, and then use the "last thirty days" option to get some good data to play with. If I ever teach an Excel class again I'm going to give them weather or earthquake data to learn with. The hardest part about teaching Excel is to get enough interesting data to really play with the features with.

I didn't think of that when I was looking. I saw there was daily, weekly, and thirty day groupings and some variety of strengths. I wonder if the 1,2,3 etc match up to those feeds. I was looking a bit at that Atom feed that they replaced RSS with. I was just getting used to RSS... So I guess at first I'm going to be limited by the existing sets and create a format I like better. The interface on the current one is too narrow, too scrunched up, and I would like the ability to s

It displays earthquake data from the USGS. Just a little column whose data rolls down as it is updated. Twice now I have learned about earthquakes before the news agencies have (like today) They need one of these. It is a Microsoft Sidebar gadget that is still supported by its creator (who has several gadgets) I'd like simply to chage the variables. I already know how to change the width and font and such. I'd really like to learn the API so I can make my own - using DesktopX. I
