Someone requested in another thread for a switch to disable ethics when you start the game. I think it is a pretty good idea, but a slider going from "none" to "common" would be better. Personally I would just go for common.
You could be thinking about me. I made a request for a disable random events at one point. A slider will work fine as an alternative, but I consider random events broken enough that I see little reason why a slider would do any better than a disable b

Send the constructors to the starbase. They will be able to upgrade the starbase. This however destroys the constructors in question, so you might want to avoid designing expensive version of constructors. Don't worry too much about being confused about upgrading starbases. Many of us on this forums have their own issues with the way starbases are setup (myself included). If something feels a bit weird, don't worry too much about it. Don't be afraid to ask questions about it.

With christmas holidays here, I've got some time on my hands to do stuff. One of the things I want to do is figure out how to some serious modding. The whole racial tech trees have got me interested, so I want to learn a few things so I'm ready for when the editors are handed out. I've tried looking around to get the information I want, but it seems that some links are not working, and other information doesn't seem to exist. As such, I'm asking for specifics here. 1. The first

I think I know what you are talking about. Let me guess, you tried to build a fleet by making a rally point, and then set some of your planets to send your ships to that rally point? Or you could of tried to build a starbase using rally points. Sometimes the ships are launched from orbit and don't fly to the rally point. Well, check to see if you have the latest version of DA, then see if this problem exists. I'll keep an eye out for in TA betas.
did not see modding folder so just main data folder, so stuff end of each corresponding files.
Try this location: (It assumes default install location) C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods Original DL has an example mod here: C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods\Example ---- Mods should have a mod description (file) to go with it. It helps the game to find your mod, plus provide a description. Anythin
The Artificial Slave Center affects all worlds? Holy crap, I'll have to stop building it on my shipyard world then. I thought it was one planet only.
This is why we need an in game encyclopedia. To provide us with answers to stuff we aren't sure about, or don't know the questions to be asking.
Come to think of it, if a Terror Star could turn a Class 0 planet into some asteroids, There'd be some pretty great peaceful uses for the thing.
All planets destroyed by a star going super nova (thanks to a terrorstar) become asteriods.
I've never been able to successfully build one, so can someone please explain how these things actually work? Each Terror Star tech let's you add a Terror Star component to a starbase? Or is a Terror Star its own t
THEY LOST HALF THEIR PLANETS AND THEY WAN'T ME TO SURENDER. Sophisticated diplomacy... right.
This is one of the things that is difficult to program in. Could you please explain here (in mathematical terms perferably) how to have the AI identify that they are losing the war, and that their "superior" military isn't up to the job? If you could, the devs could work on it right away. For us, its easy to identify problems, but the AI has no such luck. They need to b
Should I restart? Can I still manage a victory? My best planet is Earth; nothing else is better than class 8.
You could still probally win. Take this as a learning experience. Figure out what you did wrong, and what you could do better. After that, then figure out how to get out of your current crises. Make a save, and return there if you lose. Do that a couple of times until you either figure out how to win, or realise its beyond you... for now.
I once stuffed a whole bunch of extras on one of my ships (back in DL) and some of the parts went missing after I saved it. The game might be only able to handle so many extras, though it might of been fixed since then.
The problem is that a good high end gaming laptop is going to suck up a lot of juice(forget about long battery life) be rather bulkly and heavy (forget about toting it around easily) and make you extreemly nervous about carrying it around getting bumped, jostled, breathed on too hard, or (god forbid) stolen.
- Do you focus on defense, or mostly on offense?
I set a limit to how many weapons each size gets. The rest of the space is for defense.
- Does it matter whether it's early in the game or late game?
I build ships whenever I need a new design, otherwise I build a ship from my large list of ships. This list includes designs for use on the first turn.
- Do you mix fleets with big dreadnoughts and little fighters?
<br

I never seen the AI purpose to me an alliance, or try to pay me to attack someone else. I have however, seen them beg for stuff when being beaten up badly. What I want to know is, at some point, is the AI going to be able to offer a player an alliance, or offer to pay you to declare war on someone?

Greettings. I'm looking for a high end notebook. I need it for university and possibly gaming. What I'm looking for is -Something that will last me for a couple of years atleast. -Will let me program on it. -I want to be able to record classes with it. What would I need? -Atleast 3 hours battery life while recording. -Windows XP (I'm willing to downgrade from vista if needed). ________________ On a side note -What should I be looking fo
1. Conquering a planet. I've seen some crappy buildings when I take over another civilization's planet. I can't think of any specific examples, but it would be nice to have the option to remove it.
How about a Torian food structure built on a +300% bonus tile. Your newly conquored planet is forever stuck with a max food capacity of atleast 19 mt/week. I really hate it when they do that! In any case, the ability to control how large your population grows would be
...add some sort of brief descriptor to each option so players have some idea of what they're getting themselves into -- something like "Krynn Techs - High Influence" or "Korx Techs - Heavy Trading."
I would like to see a descriptor for the Yor. I've looked at them, and I haven't figured out what they are good at. Their economy is a mess. They have larger maintaince costs for factories, and their economy related structes (asside from charging stalks) are one per planet.<
I can read this situation at least two ways. First, cultures like the Iconians and the Yor are "anarchists."
They seem more like communists. It is even said somewhere is that the Iconians are the closest thing to a communist in nature in the GalCiv universe. The Iconians are a race nearly destroyed by the Yor. Inaddition, they evolved in close proximitry to the Arnor, a species that had some individuals that not only could live without sustaince, but found sittin
