Fixed -- You should now be able to see the images with little trouble. This post is for the TA beta testers and the devs working on the TA expansion. As most of you are probally aware, its possible to get other civ's race specific (or shared) techs. The end result is you often end up with a clutter of different structures in your tabs that you want nothing to do with. Am I right? If you think so, then read the following: ---------------- What I have i

Geez, you guys weren't kidding when you said that the Thalands would be able to skip several the early weapons techs. Researching 1 tech gives you 7 different branches (3 weapons, 3 defenses, and planetary invasion). Back to my game now.
The Thalans and the Altarians are finally in the beta. They're going to need tweaking, but we figured that we'd give them to you anyway.

+ NEW: Several new starbase modules added
I'll test them now. Now you go have fun with your bf Cari.

I love those events, especially when they are in another civ's territory. It really causes the territory of the map to change quickly, and the industry and influence power can quickly help you take down other civs.

Well the AI does get hostile if you try to influence them (more likely to declare war), but I have yet to see them actually do a good job at trying culture flip planets. They just build a couple of influence stargbases, and then do nothing about them.
But what we're working on right now is just going to be so much fun in this next beta as we begin to get into serious balancing.

I am starting to think that we may not make the date we want. I really want to have adequate time to work over the AI. I've learned a lot of new tricks and strategies over the last few months and it's going to take quite a bit of coding to incorporate these ideas into the game.
Would you like some help with that?
Is this a bug or do the do the krynn have some kind of technology that occasionally lets them steal a whole bunch of techs from other races?
Either its a bug, or the creative ability was on steriods. Just checking. Did it say something like "Due to our creative ability, we have finished X tech."? For your information, it seems that the creative ability has got a boost recently. From my experience, it can finish any tech whenever that pop up occurs. I've
I just wanted to let you know that we're not going to be able to put up the beta today.
No problems. My computer was giving me problems anyways, so it would of been difficult for me to play. Anyhow, are you guys going to let us try those editors yet? I would like to be able to determine what you can, and can't do with them so I can ask for the appropiate adjustments.
Oh ye GODS, I just finished one of my hardest games ever as the Yor. I'm really, really hoping those guys are just unfinished, because, seriously, they're a complete mess. I ended up just trying to keep peace with the other super-power civs until I managed to complete a technology victory.
Hahaha! I'm not surprised. I play most of my games without spending points into economic bonuses (morale, economics, and pop. growth) and I found them difficult to play the Yor without

I'd didn't realise that this post was started up again. I guess I should provide an update. Thanks for the continued support though. This christmas, I got a labtop. Due to my indecivseness, it turned out to be a "Asus G1S". Its a gaming labtop that is as noisy as sin (loud fans) when playing games or music. To top it off, its vista, and it doesn't play the game I got for christmas (Crysis). Oh well. Its not a complete loss. I needed a labtop to do homework (I go to university i

I like the Yor because they are machines. In DA, they had great soldiering and miniturization bonuses, plus an excellent super ability. However, considering how disfunctional they now are, I may end up playing a different civ, or creating a custom robotic race (I'm hoping that immunity to diseases and plague mega-events would be moddable upon TA release).
So true. There was an article floating around a while back that had the entirety of the P:T design document in it. The thing was absolutely hilarious and an interesting look into the reasoning for various design choices in the game.
I did some searching, and I think I found it.
I'd say the Drengin could use a minor boost somewhere, but I think they are still better off than the Iconians who need some serious economic help.
The Iconians are fine. Its the Yor that really needs the help. The Iconians can place multiple economics structures on their planets, as well as morale structures. The Yor are stuck with their one per planet "Efficiency Center"s, and "Maintenance Grid"s.

If the super dominators ships reflected your current technology, they would be more useful later in the game. Perhaps 2 weapons, of your best, or second best you have, 1 or 2 defense modules, 1 ship engine, and 1 life support module would make them useful later in the game. Right now, the only thing they are good for late in the game is cash for when you scrap them. This is why I stopped playing pokemon. You would think it would be possible to have them to know more moves. The number of pokemon has increased, more moves are available, pokemon can even hold item, have special abilities, or even fight in 2 vs 2 battles, yet they are still limited to knowing only 4 moves?
Is having each planet be balanced a good idea at all?
It prevents your empire from crumbling just because the AI managed to take your good planets. Have you done much researching in techs that provide either economic or morale bonuses? I often play without adding either bonus, and for a time, my economy was my biggest problem. What you should be researching is the government techs, morale techs, economic structure techs. You should be placing an usually high focus in this area because you lack the common, and make life easier, bonuses. Another thing you could do either seek out galactic resources, or try to increase your population
