No, I haven't seen this; but I know you Mac, and if you say this happened, then I believe you. You may be the only one who has seen, or at least noticed this. The chances of that particular planet being invaded during the few turns it takes to build are quite small. Then again, someone could have reported this via email, without bothering to post on the forums.
Wow. I try to be a mannerly fellow, but I'd not have hesitated to make an OP like that if I'd stumbled across the behavior.
Ditto. Sorry GW, I didn't consider the tiny map AltMeta players.
So much for the theory of some people that Stardock wouldn't bother to do anything about this exploit.
I was only going by past experience. When something like the MCC, which was a HUGE exploit/advantage was allowed to go on for so long, I did
We haven't given any specs yet, but as some others have commented it should be less demanding than SC due to engine optimizations, etc. I'm sure some people on the lower end of the spectrum will be in the beta soon and they can give feedback on how it runs for them.
Thanks, Kryo. I have decided that I will be one of those 'people'. Better performance=larger audience=better sales. (Sorry for the curt reply, palsey's acting up again.)

Thanks for the reply, AZ. I haven't played SupCom, (can't play 'em all) but I checked the Wiki, and my system meets or exceeds the recommendations for that game. AMD 3200+ Barton, 2G ram, ATI1650. I have every expectation that this game will be more efficient, especially since Frogboy has been involved in it, but I would like someone 'in the know' to confirm.
I think the acquisition probably has to do with Gas Powered Games....Brad has been pretty chummy with Chris Taylor lately and they are working together on Demigod.
The *unsubstantiated rumor* probably comes from this. Calm down people, Frogboy is not about to sell his baby to anyone. He's a Michigander (correct terminology?) and wants to stay at home. If anything, this is a bargaining chip- a 'plan B' if you will. Worst case scenario; the bureaucratic dolts dig in their h

No, I think you have it right. The game places a value on each of the techs in the tree, called "willingness to trade". The lower the number, the more the AI values that tech. I haven't looked at these for some time, but IIRC, the lowest I saw was 4, and the highest was 77. Not all of these make sense to me. Sometimes the next tech in line will be valued slightly less than the one before. Also, some techs have no entry at all. The game compares it's number with your tech's number and decides whe

Evidently, simply beginning the build of a one per planet or civ improvement is enough to trigger the game to prohibit you from building or rebuilding. This would be quite a flaw in the game and should be addressed. The game should recognize when one of these has been destroyed, and should allow you to rebuild.

Hmmm. That's a good question. I've never bought a freighter before, so I couldn't say. Are you asking a question, or do you know the answer already? If you do, I would really like to know. Actually, you have gotten my curiosity up, so I'll try both buying a freighter, and building one in the game I have going sometime tonight. I haven't tried re-basing one since sometime in DA. Maybe (hopefully) something has changed since then.

My computer went down twice last year, due to lightning strikes. The first took a motherboard, the second, a hard drive, even through a surge protector. You bet I own one. I live in the countryside, and the Laurel and Hardy Electrical Company we use gives rather spotty service. The power goes down for some period of time about every two weeks. You can't believe how tired I am of resetting clocks. The storm season has been worse than ever this year; a tornado touched down less than a quarter of a
I don't even think there's any artwork on the CD itself.
The CD looks like any other gaming CD. The artwork mimics the (imaginary) TA box seen on this site. The elements are shifted a bit, but it is basically the same. Trees are good. Cutting down a small forest and grinding it up for pulp just so you can have a box and a printed manual is not. Those days are over. Digital download is the wave of the future, and rightly so.
BTW Stardock: You really need to lighten up. And fix some of your game's issues. Don't want bad press on your games? Fix the issues, don't waste time silencing those pointing them out. (Assuming that's what just happened here.) Deliver what you promised in your ads. I don't know why my other account can no longer create new threads or reply, but whatever! ^_^
Stardock doesn't play that way. If someone trash talks their products, they will most likely get an angry/indignan
Let them destroy all you got (or sell them/destroy them for money) and focus on making bigger/better ships. Ones that can fight them and also perhaps help you get an edge on your opponents once things clear.
QFT. Sell off your ships for a nice chunk of change, then hunker down and research your *ss off. When you come out the other side, you'll be an unstoppable power. You can handle the Pirates! event the same way. The worst part about these events is the fact t

It just floors me to see that there are people who are defending this guy. He's making money off of something that he doesn't own, and is doing real financial damage to Blizzard in the process. There is a word for organisms like him- parasite. I know for a fact that Blizzard has lost money because of him, and I can prove it. I offer into evidence...myself. I was a big fan of the Diablo series. I spent countless hours leveling up just about every build of every character type in the gam

You will receive a "properly pressed" cd in a paper sleeve in a padded envelope. Mine arrived in pristine condition. Frogboy is working on the new manual, and it *should* be released in the 2.0 update, IIRC. Do you own a printer? Voila, printed manual. $20 does seem expensive for mailing a single cd. I just checked the US Postal Service website, and I could send it to England for $1.94 via first-class mail. If I were to upgrade to priority mail (mine came priority mail),
did you insure they had the alliance tech?

the Iconians formed alliances with two other civs that are Close to me
Question asked, question answered. Bravo, GW. You have brought to light another weakness in the diplomatic arena. The friend of my friend should be my friend also. It doesn't work this way in the game. Things like this are calculated on a one on one basis. My relationship with civA has no bearing on my relationship with civB.
it seems I have more than an interest in the game in common with you all - looking at your pic and Mistralok's. I am attempting to get back into school to write a doctorate on the influence of ancient and early modern political thought on the American Founding Fathers. His is Machiavel's and yours is Erasmus (by Holbein, right?). I'll have to scrounge 'round for a nice pic for the forum.
I'm sure you'll be able to find some common ground with a any number of people here.

Hello, Dave. Welcome to the forums. The poster you mentioned is certainly NOT representative of the average forum user. You will find that the overwhelming majority of us here are patient, polite, and helpful. As to your question; I don't know of a .pdf, but I have something better for you. There is a little stand-alone proggy called the "Galactopedia". It reads the files from the game, and displays them in a handy interface. It will provide you all the info you need about any of the t
