I've read the beginner strategy guide (some good points), looked over some of the strategies here (way past me) <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-

Galaxies could be resized, say medium to 5x5 large to 6x6 huge to 7x7 and gigantic to 8x8, This would almost certainly cause a mutiny among avid GalCiv2 players. What are you thinking? Reduce the map size? Blasphemy! If anything make the map size bigger to compensate for the faster ships! (Just kidding here guys and gals) <TABLE cel
LOL That picture is classic! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all. May the new year bring thousands of habitable new worlds, and hundreds of alien civilizations under your control.
The way in which we "rule our empire" in this game When I said that my "views" affect how I rule my empire I might not have been totally clear. Then I must thank you again sir, if not for this
This game has some very realistic political situations which pretty much mirror our past, current, and future events in one shape or another. I as well have just been observing the comments made within this thread and wanted to jump in on several occasions. Politics and history, along with personal views on such matters can become quite volati
I have been playing this game now for the last 7 or so months and find that every game I play is different. You are able to customize just about every aspect of the game, including but not limited to, star density, how abundant habitable planets, stars, and anomalies are, speed of research, how many opponents, level of play, race you wish to play, how smart your adversaries are, what your starting techs and racial bonuses are, choose your political affiliation, customize colors of yo
Have planetary invasions require full movement points (yes, you would have to park your transports next to the enemy planet for invasion the next turn). It would not matter how fast they got there if they had to wait a turn. This would give the AI a chance to respond to threats, while being able to determine more easily non-threats. <TABLE cellpa
Declarations of War. You can do this many ways, all of which include the same idea. Destroy an enemy starbase, starship, or you can attack a planet. There are other avenues but this is the most effective. If you choose to attack a planet, the first thing you must do is build a Troop Transport. Secondly, on the target planet, you must clear away all enemy ships (by destroying them) in orbit. Once that is done, move your Troop transport into orbit above the planet and commenc
powindah. Care to explain the word? I have no idea what it means or even what language it is in.
Everyone can colonize standard earth-class worlds, but some of the super-abilities include colonization techs for some special environments right off the bat. So, unless your playing one of the races which has the previously mentioned super ability, you would be giving yourself a handicap by using the slider idea. Otherwise you would have a larg
I have been playing GalCiv2 now for about 8 months. I agree that it is a great game, and will continue to play with or without DA. However, I will purchase DA when it becomes available to the public because I want to expand and enjoy the overall game experience as well as the increasing story line. Besides, some of the changes within DA were ideas originally posted on these very forums. If you like GalCiv2 DL and think Stardock did a good job with the game, why would you not trust
I am not in the DA beta but I do have a question. If you created this slider for non - favorable conditions would it give more favorable conditions to the other races? Or do all races start the game colonizing the same type of world?
Very nice sir, well done. Not that I like to create planets or anything but I am appreciative of others artistic talents.
allowing the user to pick a particular text file This would be nice, but were you able to do the same for the AI ships in Space Empires? I do not know, never played the game. If so, maybe the Devs should look into this.
From a parents point of view the normal ingame theme could do with the base being reduced as i have to play the game wearing headphones due to a huge base underscore. From a teenagers point of view the normal in-game theme could do with the base being enhanced so that I can rock out and drive my parents crazy!!! <img src="http://images.stardock
As far as the queue for research production projects goes, even if it were in the game, I would not use it. I find that with each given game my needs change, and even in mid game I sometimes find I tend to break away from my current research project to focus on another because the need arises. What we really need is to be able to save queues on planet improvement
Update the game to 1.4, This is a completely different game almost. If you enjoy playing 1.0, you will love 1.4x. update your video drivers. The Driver update is important. <TA
Salutations to you fine members of the H.C.H! I have been rather busy lately but that has not stopped me from posting my largest victory yet. 16500 Points. Up from my previous high score of 11000! (I am getting better!) I will begin my next game within the next week, raising the difficulty to the next level. Hopefully that will bring in another fine victory with even more points. <table cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgcolor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Tabl
It was about 3 a.m.when I wrote that and hadn't been to bed yet. I should have used "mix" or "balance" or "diversity" I suppose I think you said what you meant and did a wonderful job. No need to change anything, I was just giving you a hard time Donfield. I thought your wording was rather... clever actually. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width

I know the movie was absolutely horrible but the Alien race from " Battle Field Earth " with John Travolta, was pretty cool. They could have done so much more with that movie. An Extreme disappointment. Also the "Predator" species would be rather interesting.
know it won't have the same amount of firepower, but the missiles they carry can still do alot of damage, especially if it hits something critical. This would be the point. " If " the fighter hit something critical it " could " do a massive amount of damage to the Aircraft Carrier, or any other ship for that matter. If
Now that I have had ample time to rest my eyes, I will explore Kens last post. Complexity: What I proposed really isn't very complex at all. Simply put, what you proposed may not be all that complex but it is vastly different than what the game relies upon, in the way of combat, as of now. Therefore, the "complexities" of trying to add
I think Stardock has done a wonderful job at giving us the options we have presently. Taking it one step further and allowing us to customize the exact size of the galaxy, from 3X3 to 16X16 (or higher), would be a bonus in my opinion. A good idea. Currently, I enjoy the maps we already have.
