We need Metaverse Scenarios. Support them in the aforementioned thread to keep the concept on the developers' radar. I have tried to think of other things the Metaverse might need since I originally read your post on Meteverse Scenarios, Wheel. I have not come up with one. This idea was truly inspired and should be contemplated by the Devs.<br

You, I and everyone else on this forum knows who they are. I think those who have been around for a while have an idea of who you may be referring to. I have noticed it seems to go in cycles. Most generally I have witnessed most who post on these forums as being helpful. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 cla
I like your idea Mumble, I find myself tearing apart useless starbases in just about every game. Being able to move them, although slowly, would really extend their life. How many times have you sent out hoards of constructors to a sector in order to build a starbase, only to be jumped by pirates or a newly acquired enemy? It would be feasible to build a starbase rather quickly and completely, in your own back yard and then slowly move (by tug or positioning thrusters) it to
We need carriers, tactical combat, multiplayer, hotseat, and global warming. That should cover it. Orbital bombardment. Cheese is tasty. Terror Stars, do not forget about the Terror Stars!
i just posted my opinion that i am suprised the topic is of interest due to how pathetic starbase defences are The topic was of interest due to the fact that it was a bug within the game and the developers needed to be made aware of it. You asked a question sir... <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 c
Starbases seems to be unable to destroy enemy ships in the beta, they can cause damage but the ship wont be destroyed no matter how much damage it takes. This was the topic. This thread is in the Beta Reports. I
Global warming, heavy indus. planets should evetually lose class power for realism This is a joke right? Why on earth would you want that? Secondly and most importantly, why would you think every civilization would be as dumb as us to allow their planet to fall into a "warming" cycle due to corrupting their ozone layer? What makes you think th
History implies that it won't. Those of us who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it. I agree Mumble.
Finally, even though no one jumped in and flamed, it does appear some folks are anxious to see flaming start. I didn't get that idea from the replies posted at all, Mumble. It looked to me as though most of the posts were applauding his idea while trying to give him a gentle warning about the subject. I may have missed it. I think thos
but trust me on that. Yeah... trust him. Feature that would put this game over the top Have to disagree here. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class
Nice Idea. Probably would go over a bit better if you would have named the thread "Support ships" however. Search the forums for carrier threads, there are literally a few dozen posts on the subject. Disclaimer: Do not forget to grab the fire extinguisher when the threads turn to flames!
Never watched the AI ships battle. When I get the chance I will see if I can duplicate the problem you are having.
do you think it would be worthwhile to conquer all but one planet of the galaxy I have tried this on 2 different occasions and it does not seem to work for me. The Civ will just surrender thus ending the game. The way I have found to go about it is leave the weakest Civ, then exploit for points. I grow tired of this and usually just en
I also work long hours and find these forums rather entertaining for a multitude of reasons. but I tend to become a lock-jawed, monomaniac once the game starts up I know what you mean. I have often thought of loading the game on my work system, dual 17 inch monitors would make for a fantastic game! The down side... I am certain I woul
Iron Maiden's The Trooper Classic! I do the same thing with the same type of songs DethAdder, but I have yet to have the game crash because of it. Might be something else.
It could also be taken as an insult... Try leaving a waitress a 2 cent tip... I agree with 10KLakes, I would have gone to war...
When I first started playing I never used anything but resource starbases. I did not realize that I was actually crippling myself by not doing so. If there is any doubt about this topic all you have to do is look above. Each type of star base has its advantage. Some will argue this one or that one is worthless, the point is you have to use them the way they were designed. Each has a use. Some will work for your strategies, some will not. My suggestion, is use them if you can.
How much would you pay for a Sherman tank, or a P-51 Mustang? They probably would go for much more than what they were built for now days. Now, what if that Sherman had to go up against an Abrams? Or that Mustang
Your main point is that you want to intercept fast ships with slower ones Not really, my main point was instead of on the players turn, point and clicking your ships to where the enemy ship is and watching the battle unfold... you actually have to guess where the enemy ships are going and point and click into the area you think you may intercept
You described the type of events in an earlier post. For some reason though I am not sure I would want to handle it that way. What about being able to see where the AI is moving his ships, or constructing star bases or what he is building or researching? I have grown rather fond of trying to figure out what the hell the AI is trying / wanting to do, not being able to see this while the game is looking for the next event would definitely put me at a disadvantage during game play. <b
I have heard the fall out resonate throughout other threads regarding this social experiment thread, looked all over for it and found the thread started by Mumble. This was classic. Thanks again.
Thanks Wheel, I am going to go pick it up as soon as I am able. I have played games like Star Craft and Homeworld, so I have a little bit of knowledge in this area. I am looking forward to it.
Dictionary.com states 1. A method of divination through alleged communication with the dead; black art. 2. Magic in general, esp. that practiced by a witch or sorcerer; witchcraft; conjuration 3. The practice of supposedly communicating with the spirits of the dead in order to predict the future. Wiki states... a form of conjuration in which the practitioner seeks to summon the spirits of the dead, called operative spirits
Probably took his computer that long just to load this freaking thread! I can not believe I just spent all that time reading all the replies!
Just out of curiosity, is it possible that Megavolt inadvertently changed his .raceconfig file and just forgot? Only other question I have is, after he was told what he may have done, why did he still decide to bolt? And ummmm.... he was cheating no doubt, whether he intended to or not.
