Also, they have to launch it. That takes all kinds of time. Just think how long it takes just to get 1 space shuttle launched and put into orbit. You have delays for this and for that and because the stupid zero G toilet will not flush. Your lucky I guess, because this game is set in the distant future, if that were not the case and the super space plumbers were not on duty 24 hours a day, it might take you 5 weeks to get that bird into space! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/s

Each game is a new cycle of reality with the same characters in a slightly different role interacting in different ways in a new universe. This is so true Wheel. Never really thought about it that way.

I as well, hope that Marcathonas sticks around. Thanks for the link Mumble, I will have to check it out. ShuShu, yes, I do admit politics plays a role within the world of most religion, but there are religions which are not political. As far as nothingness being something that is another matter entirely. As I stated earlier, you either are religious or you are not. Atheism is not a religion. Therefore my logic dictates to me that it is either something or it is noth

The distinction is that Religion is not individual, it is organizational and hence political. To me that is like saying Politics is organizational and therefore Religion. I may have misunderstood ShuShu but that is how it is coming across. This of course I must disagree with. Just because there is structure in most faiths does not mean that it

ShuShu62: I can agree with most of what you said in your last post, but there is something that I have to take issue with. I'ld Also like to point out that religion and politics are one and the same thing. I do not believe that this is the case. There are those who perceive religion as a passing fad, or more to the point "a go

Wow, interesting reading. It took me almost two hours to read through this entire thread. There were so many things I wanted to comment on through out the entire thread, I just do not think I have the time or energy to do so now. Not to mention this post would turn into a novel. I just wish I had crawled out from under the rock I have been living under for the last few days to see this post so I could have taken part. For the most part it was civil, entertaining, and at times comical. Fo

I would like to step up and say that your post was very refreshing Azrune. It seems all to often when a thread like this is started people either tend to ignore them or flame the ever loving crap out of the "Newbie". Although you do find it funny, that many new players have the slightest clue about jewelery, you still took the time to read and create a constructive post. I wish more of us would do the same, including myself. Bravo Azrune, Bravo.

This thread is absolutely hysterical! I really do appreciate the fact that when I need a good laugh, all I have to do is jump onto these forums and look for an outrageous topic. I find hours of joy and laughter within these walls. I personally am not a grammatical junkie but I do try and take pride in what I write. Like a few of you have already posted, I do want others to read what I have

I would like to see a little more detail in the fleet combat area. Currently when you invade a planet you get a little pop up that allows you to select the different ways you can inflict damage. Each with it's strong points and weak points. I would like to see something similar added for fleet battles. Different formations give you a tactical advantage in one way or another. **example** (Delta formation) Would give you a bonus to your attack but leave you mor

Virginia you say? Me too. Try doing 20 miles an hour over the speed limit in Virginia on I95 north or south bound. You will get run the hell over, that is of course if you are moving. You are either doing MACH 3 or your at a dead stop for 3 hours.

I always thought sub-missions or mini missions or quests would be a good idea. Kind of a game within a game. You could also use these type of missions to further your relations with say a race that does not look to kindly on you. Could be used in a form for political gain as well. Good idea I think.

Anyone have that not so fresh feeling? Ghad.. Also I can not stand that new Capital One commercial with millions of scissors running around in the city streets cutting up credit cards people throw at them. That commercial scared the crap out of my kid. Oh and that stupid Geico commercial where the green lizard dude is talking with a fake Larry King. ( I took a few Minutes and switched from Geico and saved a ton of money on my Car insurance ) About 450 dollars a year. Wen

I think multiple attacks from a large hulled vessel is a good idea, and it does make sense. Smaller ships may only have one or two weapons facing in a single direction, but large ships would have multiple weapons targeting enemy ships. However, I also believe that starbases should not be over powered. They are static platforms which should make them vulnerable to enemy attacks. An example would be the Death Star. Yes the Rebels attacked with a fleet, but ultimately only a single fight

Wow... I have seen some of us go over the top with some of our comments, including myself, but this guy is orbiting Pluto. my primary goal is to challenge my very expensive equipment. Then get a new hobby. Use the power of your "very expensive equipment" to create a game that will rival GalCiv2. If you truly have the computing power yo

Much as I would LOVE to flame you to all hell for your utter, utter ignorance, I shall leave it at this: First and foremost Marc, me saying that jealousy never suited anyone, is ignorant? I think that is a pretty straight forward moral opinion, which I believe most people would agree with. Flame away. I do not come onto these forums and slam C

Hi Joe. Here are my thoughts on your thoughts 1. This can be done with a MOD. Suggest you get your hands dirty and play around with the files. 2. View Official Carrier/Planetary Bombardment thread which is a sticky topic in the game talk section. 3. I like this idea and there are many threads dedicated to it. Do a search to see others ideas on this matter. 4. I agre

we actually are trying to help you. I believe this sir. However, I have yet to try, I am having to much fun atm destroying my enemies on tough. I figure I will move on after my next couple games. It is always good to heed the advise of others, or at least keep it in mind. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0

oh oh... first you would have to package the dead mini horses in some sort of missile casing. In order to do that I would suggest a very large blender. Unless of course you want to try the old rail gun option. The only way I can see you accelerating a dead horse to such speeds in a vacuum would be some sort of U shaped structure with an extremely large, elastic band attached to it. Then you would have to have some sort of mechanism that would be able to pull back the elastic thingy a

Bought the game the middle of June. Played as much as "she" would allow... hehe.. Have a weird work schedule and commute 170 miles a day. Only really play when I am home and everyone else is working or attending school. I troll the forums while I am at work. I would say I play 10-15 hours a week but my computer has melted and I haven't played in ohhhh... almost a month! ARRRRGGGGG...... WITHDRAWLS!!!! List of 10 favorites.... 1. X-Com UFO Defence 2. I agree with ND3G. Having Stardock around to keep the game interesting is great! I do not believe that there is a single game out there that had a perfect release, meaning no bugs. Being able to chase down, find, and correct bugs is very important. Also I believe it is important for them to hunt down cheats and eliminate them as well. If the game becomes unbalanced through their corrections, they can then try to balance the issues. With this also comes improvements to the

Hate to get this way off topic but I really think there should be a "Cheese Scale" created. Personally, I love Cheeze Its, those little crackers are the best! Other than that, Is it possible to actually play "cheese free" and still win at the higher levels of the game? Have yet to play past tough, although I manage a victory 95% of the time.

Nice Post Paladin. Nice work on the mod Maverick. As far as Night Hawk and his post Carriers are an idea for galciv 2 so, technically they have full right to stay whereever they are. You really should read the entire thread before posting, and understand the actual words posted in the initial post which started the thread.

When I down loaded 1.31 it asked me for a system reboot as well. Not being very computer savvy, I do what the damn thing tells me to do. With that said, I have not played GalCiv2, or any other game for that matter in the last week and a half. About a day after the reboot, files on my system started to disappear. First, music files, then the .jpg files. Random folders from various programs deleted making them worthless. Computer slowed to a crawl, then the system started to continuo
