I have played games such as the Homeworld series, The X-com series, Ascendency (one of my personal favorites), Romance of the 3 kingdoms series to name just a few. I really enjoy the tactical aspect of those games. I agree that the tactical part of GalCiv2 is somewhat lacking. Now the other aspects of the game may make up for some of what it is lacking but I still crave a more hands on approach when it comes to warfare. Most have been turn based and not real time. I do like the simp

I like the idea, and like many other aspects of the game it doesn't have to mesh with reality. True, like ummm.. an alien race for instance? if it was only 80 au's the last planet that they just found </

You have the basic idea here, but you are lacking the generation of the sound wave through the beam of particles That is about all your going to get from me is basic. It is the job of future scientist to figure the rest of it out. Again, if they can generate black holes, they should be able to..... <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" ali

Whoa I understand now. Your a pretty smart fellow. You cleared that up perfectly for me. Thank you again. I understood to an extent before, but some things I had learned clouded my vision on the subject. The bottom line I think, about sound traveling in space, is that it can. I think what really got this thread off and running was one of my statements and some of the responses I got. <

This is a really good idea. If implemented with a way to "board" and take over an enemy ship it would be even more practical. Maybe the reverse engineering mechanics of the game could be based on your level of expertise in the area of reverse engineering, meaning many different tech levels needed to be researched, like with miniaturization. This would increase your overall chances of successfully reverse engineering an item. That way there are 3 different, viable ways to increase you

Don't expect that to last as the demand for oil and naturnal gas for heating homes/offices increases as we move into fall. I just filled up in Northern VA. for $1.94 a gallon. My humble opinion, Bush did what he had to do, good, bad, or indifferent. The UN is corrupt and a waste of time and should be dismantled. There a

Last time I checked Finding Waldo was not a Civilization game. Sounds to me that if the game has more than 2 buttons to push, with the mouse pointer that is, it may be a bit extreme for him. Good writing not only makes for more clarity, but it lends credibility to the writer. Bingo! Wait, another Civilization ga..... e

What meaning does resource collecting have!? Resource collecting makes strategy games Dull. Dull with a capital "D"!!!!!! Well. The resources currently in the game give you a distinct advantage in one fashion or another in regards to military, research, economics, or morale for starters. A very good aspect to this game in my opinion.

I have not Sir. Go back and read some of my posts. Really, I could debate the question of carriers either way. It really makes no difference to me one way or the other. Would they be fun? Sure. Game Altering? Yeah. Bring in New strategies for game play and destroy old ones? You betcha. Are there other more important features the team could be developing to make the game even more fun than if you added carriers? More than likely. Again, I care less if they add them or not,

if their medals are a true indication, most of the posters in this thread aren't playing at the suicidal level. It is an average of games posted on Metaverse. Also, doesn't count games one plays outside the Metaverse. So I would not think it was a true indication myself. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 clas

Also, just curious, why is there a glowing ring of some sort around a planet sometimes? I assume it's because of something I've done. I see it on Mars and Earth off and on. If the ring is blue, it means you have selected the planet in one way or another. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-

Right now holding down the button only dispaces the camera in teh direction i drag, leaving the angle the same. That is how mine works as well. I hold down my scroll wheel button in order to rotate the camera itself. Not sure if there is an option to change this, I would think there would be but I haven't had the need to look fo

I doubt very seriously if he, or anyone for that matter, is going to lose money over carriers, or even lose any sleep over the issue itself. Seems like from what I have read on these forums, for every 1 thing someone hates, there are 10 things people love. That is what makes the money and allows for a comfortable nights sleep. Not Carriers.

Paladin, although the idea of attrition is a good one, I am not sure if it could be feasibly adapted to the game in the way you have shown above. Being that these Ships are so large, it seems to me that they would be completely self sufficient. Just my thoughts. I think the best idea I have heard in regards to slowing down ships in enemy territory has to be the check points idea. If you are on the up and up, you are slowed by the constant boarding and checks that you go through in or

Not sure where to post this so I am placing it here where the original thread was locked. ( I couldn't apologize ) So I will do it publically. Quixen, reviving threads just to antagonize another user isn't going to lead to just *his* head imploding (*brandishes the 'discipline' stick*). It also needlessly makes work for me and clutters the front page with YET ANO
