At the moment I must agree. Building any type of Morale based building is pointless. Sometimes things are nerfed because its needed, in order to make items within the game take more of an active roll within said game. In this case, In order to make morale buildings do what they intended, stock markets need to be nerfed. Personally, I kind of like the spice of an ever changing set of rules. They tweak the game, it forces one to tweak their strategy.

I like the idea of a more complicated ground attack, however, I am not so sure it belongs in GalCiv2. At the moment the game is pretty time consuming, can you imagine playing a gigantic system with abundant everything? It would take you a year to complete a game. If they could generate some type of strategy that was a bit more involved but less time consuming and actually contributed to the overall play style of the current game, I would be all for it. Otherwise, I feel they should
I know that no one asked for my 2bc but ummmm, here it is anyway. Death Star, X-wing fighter, ohhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhh Look at all the pretty colors! Nuff said about small fighters I think. (not knocking anyone, some pretty good posts above kept me completely entertained!)
Everyone has their own way of playing, here is how I start. First Week 1. Set tax rate to 50% (most cases) 2. Set sliders for production A. Military Production 0% B. Social Production 40%-50% (depending on bonuses) C. Research Production 50%-60% (depending on bonuses) 3. Send initial Colony ship to closest star system with the most planets. (Unoccupied) 4. Send Survey ship to closest anomaly or system opposite of Colony sh
I think it works well now. However, I do not believe that a Civ on the brink of extinction should be allowed to surrender to a Civ who we all know will just exterminate them after their surrender. A Civ surrendering to the Yor for example. We all know they hate flesh bags and will kill them all once they raise the white flag. I would rather see them fight to the last planet, instead of skipping past the executioner, grabbing a smoke and blindfold, putting his head on the chop block of a guil
All the defense has to do is hole up and not get killed. Read: Massively fortified STATIC defense positions. Now, static defenses such as the maginot line may be out of favor, but the fact is, there is NOTHING better at simply holding on to a position than static defense. Sure, you can go around it, but when you need to kill the people in it, you still have to tackle it.
The key to defending planets is too not let the Enemy Troop ships attack in the first place. Malkuth, what is wrong with you man? That quote could end this thread! You speak the truth however. For Gods sake man, just do not let them near your planets!
I agree with both the last posts, the only thing I contend is that : Which if taken into consideration, one can conclude that religion and one races beliefs, leads to ones political motivation, giving them that particular advantage. I believe your political affiliation can/does play a role in the religious aspect of the game.
And who said anything about attacking fighter ships having to fly into the planets atmosphere for ship to ship combat? I mean if I was invading a planet and I saw that the opposition has all these atmospheric fighters flying about waiting to engage me, I would just launch a few missiles, fire my rail guns and lasers, and watch them burn. If they did not take to the air to meet me, I would launch an offensive against their airfields and bunkers. I have the advantage if I have throttled their d
I am not so sure about the temple improvements being religious Icons. I mean the word temple in and of itself certainly applies to religion, but maybe not in this case. My reasoning behind this thought is the Good/Neutral/Evil aspect of the game. Just because you are evil does not mean you practice a certain religion, you could be purely evil and believe in nothing. Same goes for being Good. Now if you lump all religions that are aligned with each other (evil with evil) into the
I think there is enough religion in the game already. Political Selections come to mind. War party, can be thought of easily as worshiping the gods of war for their race. Technologists, scientology. Yes those are but two examples but each political selection comes with it's advantage. Which if taken into consideration, one can conclude that religion and one races beliefs, leads to ones political motivation, giving them that particular advantage. So techni
6: Cheese -- hit Control-n till you get 300% production and research bonus tiles on your homeworld. If you have a good strategy this is not necessary but would definitely help the colony rush -- especially if there are not a lot of planets/civ in the game. Just out of curiosity, will this set off a cheat flag if your playing a Metaverse game? I
Hmmmm I have to agree here with Fuzzybunnies. You should be able to get them to like you at least a little bit. I mean if a Civ absolutly hates you, and wants you dead, is your first step going to be send an entire freighter of goods and your own people to a planet that wants to see your race extict? Or would you try to open up diplomatic relations by first saying " Hey, here is a 1000bc, let's talk." I think that is the way it should be, not sure if it operates that w
Ah. Game feature. Got it. I guess I shouldn't feel bad for the "game animals", everyone has to eat something. Kool. No mercy. This is a great quote! Minors work as designed. Food. <b
Doh.... Well, he posted twice.... I was just trying to make sure he understood? Yeah, thats it. And uh... those people who ummm said ummm.... you couldn't do it.... well, to ummm show them it might be.... well.... possible. I think... yeah... well something uhhhh along those lines anyway.
Why not? Not everyone reads every post, some will just read what they posted. I was just trying to be helpful, thats all. That might be why there were two seperate posts about the same thing on the same day.
Well yes, Look at us, Earth , for example. If you put all of Earth's Nations Air Forces together, it IS a PREETTY BIIIG AirForce, but yet, no "Space Force", not yet anyways, or not that the public know about it. but wait just a second here........ If there was such a thing as a " Space force " don't you think you would be able to completely decim
I was told you can play a hot seat game. Looked it up. I have not tried it and not sure if it actually works but the cheat is said to be....... Ctrl+shift+z I got this information from the Wiki site along with all the other cheats. WWW Link Check out the link above.

Yes, it is the number in parenthisis just after the ip point value of the planet. Looks like 17 IP (2.00) the (2.00) would be your overall influence on the planet. meaning you have 2X the influence the planet currently holds.
What they said
I use the small planets myself, typically anything less than PQ6 I build all stock markets on them to generate revenue. Unless of course there is a nice tile bonus.
What if you have multiple ships in orbit? You have one for each type? Sounds like it would be a little cluttered to me. Having the shield there I think is sufficient. If you want to see what is there just point and click. Although I will admit it would look pretty cool.
A good Idea, just a bit complicated I think. If there was a good way to simplify it, and make it less taxing on the processor, I think it would be a great idea.
