Fuels, I have never really paid attention to those numbers. Should I be? Since my scores are so much lower than yours, I would have to answer your question as a no. However, I will start to watch these scores with interest.

Yor miniaturization racial ability + max miniaturization tech + 2 or 3 Hyperion shrinkers = one hell of a tiny hull. Add a couple of military resources and a few levels to the tiny hulls and it really compounds this issue. This is why I like the Yor, and that is really all I have to say about the subject.
I agree with Fuels and he agrees with Deth. In the early game you should be able to get a good idea of who you are going to be taking on in battle first. Once I know who I am going after, or who might be coming for me, I start spending my money spying on them, so that I can see which direction they are going with weapons and defenses. Very rarely do I start building my military before the AI so it works for me. Once I know what they are doing I focus research on one weapon type only
There usually is plenty of wilderness left on the planets as I see it. All those areas where I can't build! hehe Also I think that if you build the "entertainment" buildings, which take up an entire square on a planet, that it just would not be buildings. You should have all kinds of cool hiking trails, rafting, rock climbing, parks, heck they may even have outdoor racquet ball! Using force field walls of course.
They build up each turn based on your influence that turn, and are reset to 0 after each UP meeting. This is good to know. I was wondering why the changes were so drastic at times. I had no idea. Thanks for clarifying that Kryo.
Very impressive sir! Can't wait for the next installment!
@Iceman I would like to respond to a couple things real quick and then I will get into the meat of my post. Hmm, excuse me, but it's a *sci-fi* game, hence saying it has no relevance to science is somewhat absurd. Yes, it does have everything to do with science but... the rest of the word there is "fiction". So yes, the game is bas
Neutral: Remove the free tiles with terraforming tech completely. Your out of your mind!
It is? i thought it was 1 million, i forget? I believe it is, on the slider it looks like 1, (meaning 1 million) on the planet screen it looks like 0.01 million. In which case.. I do believe, it would be the same if you retro fitted a cargo hull into a colony ship, and then land it on a planet. I may very well be wrong on this point bec
This thread has gone around the block a few times and then some. I am really surprised to see it still retains a bit of life. Just when one subject seems to be on the verge of death, a new subject jumps in and steals the heartbeat. I really did not intend to post in this thread again but I find it to alluring. I see that Quietly Observing is no longer Quietly Observing and is actually Quiet Vocal. I guess I should step back a little and tell you all, that I am very impressed
Yeah, I was trying to add fuel to the fire but I really wasn't looking for someone to aim a flame thrower at me in a threatening manner. With that said, let me respond in kind... I will first begin with the opening to my last post... I hate to add fuel to this fire... but didn't Star Trek have "replicators"? Did they, or did they not, get parts out of mid air?<
Those are good points that you bring up JubJub and I am almost inclined to agree with you. However, I must contest it in the end. The majority of the people don't know when governments do things that are good for them, and often times small "radical" groups will go out of their way and raise a huge stink, saying that even though it looks good... it is really Evil. On that same line, when a government does do something that is absolutely wrong, they cover it up with tons of mis
'First strike' in battle was removed in 1.2. The combat system in 1.3 is the same as it is in 1.4. I might be wrong here, I am not exactly sure so maybe I should just keep my trap shut but... Since his wife bought him the game for Christmas, I do not believe he even has the option of downloading 1.3. Again, I may very well be
I think they are done fairly well and could use a bit more, but not really necessary. However... If anything in the graphics area needs to be addressed, it would be the ground assaults. Blech!
Getting parts out of nowhere, including *colony modules*, is outright stupid (not intended as an insult). I hate to add fuel to this fire... but didn't Star Trek have "replicators"? Did they, or did they not, get parts out of mid air? I think turning a "blank" hull into whatever, is very plausible. Take the Military Hummer for instanc
I personally like the benefits I get with the neutral alignment. So yeah, I use neutral often. However, I do not believe it to be as powerful as the Evil alignment. So I agree with Mumble on this point. Ok, so you get the satisfaction of playing a "Good" civ. Big deal, you don't get much else that's for sure. The good alignment could use some adjustment in my opinion, before I even consider trying to play a good civ.
I guess I would have 2 questions for you... First, How long were you parked just outside Terran territory? Second, Where were the Terran survey vessel and scout ships?
Taxation should never exceed 50% - between 30 and 40 percent is best. The lowest I keep my tax rate is 50%, I don't use trade routes and I disable tech victory and tech trading... Of course I do not play above painful as of yet so this may be why. This depends on how you play, there are 1,000,001 different strategies you can use to win. Your
I would have to say the Babylon 5 Mod as well. They did such a wonderful job. The first Mod I ever down loaded however was Kryo's Hull Mod and it was fantastic. Honestly haven't played any other Mods since I was a big B5 fan, and the B5 Mod was done so well.
Torians are so freakin' aggressive At first I always played Evil, then I noticed the bonuses the Neutrals get. I especially like the automatic tile upgrade. So now I tend to play in the center, with a slight leaning to the Evil side. As for the Torians... I want to obliterate them first in every game. The first few games I played,
Fundies are the counter to all the good boni that come with evil alignments. I think it works just as it should. I think this is a good event, and does give being Evil a definite down side, but there should be no way in the world that it takes every single planet you own. They should leave you with at least one and let you suffer. Yes, I said
I am speechless. Very, Very, Nice. Well done sir.
A few weeks? I can see a few months, but weeks? I guess it would depend on the map settings as well... Gigantic / 450+ planets? This can be done in a few weeks on Obscene? I mean, I think I colonize well at the moment, but if this is the case I am really going to have to rework my colonization scheme.... Whoa.
The thing that a "council" could accomplish is that it could effectively speak as the combined opinion of all of us. Mumble, your original suggestion of a ruling council is a very good one. This however, is where it will start to become difficult. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Tab
I do understand what you are saying Mumble but just for arguments sake, I must take issue with their possible view on the Metaverse itself. If, of course, what you are saying is true. (Not that I doubt what you are saying, I have read a few other threads regarding this matter.) I don't think they do. At best, I think they view the MV as a necessary evil. </T
