A scientifically or economically superior power is just as much of a threat as a militarily superior race. An economically superior power wouldn't really be a target, since they would probably have trade routes, so the AI would actually be screwing itself, and attacking a empire just because it's economicly superior is more like terrorism. <b

I think one way that might work ( likely not), how about the ships attack based on size, large ships would attack large ones, small would attack small and so on.
I love reading these.
Remember building the freighters takes time, money, and you lose building a warship. And don't forget the time it takes to get to the target, as well as protecting it. You're better off building a few stock markets.
And that could be transfered digitally, planet-planet. Yeah but... what would they be buying if the planet is blockaded?
No this is silly because u would not have any production to build constructors to build a influence base. Ugh... you could just build them on a different planet, it doesn't have to be right next to the target planet.
i was krnaking out tiny fighters in record time. Heck, you should be making battleships in a turn, probably even huge ships.
I've seen the ai make alliances, although the game is extremly long if they do.
How would the military work out if a turn were a year? They move a few parsecs and then they just stop and go on vacation for a year?
I guess that's why they're minor races...
I don't get why the explosions are so heavy, my computer isn't a dino but the explosions in the game are. Every time I see one of the games explosions, i'm thinking, "wow games on my N64 a decade ago had explosions that were much better than this". Why does this game struggle with these dino graphics?
So the mexicans are Torians? Well a lot of mexicans elvolve into aliens ( damn illeagle immigrants).
Wow every time I hear about the expansion, it sounds cooler.
And don't blame the AI for being stupid at challenging. It's still braindead. The AI is always braindead.
Bombing planets from orbit will NEVER, EVER, EVER happen. This has been stated many times. However, DA might have the option to just blow the planet to smithereens. But no bombardment, so don't even bother asking. Any post about anything that involves destruction of a planet, Marcathonas will be their to fight it. <img src="http://images.stardoc
A good idea would be for orbital bombardment to be one of the thing that you select in the game costumization just like tech trading, that way everyones happy, those for orbital bombardment could have it, those that hate orbital bombardment won't have to use it. The best idea possible on this topic.
This happened to me to a long time ago, I was playing as the drath and I was in the corner of the map so I didn't have many planets, I invaded the iconians and won pretty much every battle, captured numerous planets, and when I talked to them they said, "you attacked and now you're losing, pathetic". WTF! I found out the reason was they had lots of shitty defenders sitting around they're planets while I had frigates and destroyers with pysonic beams and force fields, and guess what was even more
I hate those dumb little starbases that the AI puts around, and they always put them in the dumbist places, like puting an economy base near one of my planets. Then I have to pretty much massacre that race to teach them a lesson, but I think they're retarded because always do the same anoying thing, then I have to rinse and repeat.
I would love that idea, It's annoying that there are no mammoth space structures ( sorry those starbases are much smaller than most of my ships) and that there is no colonizing late in the game.
I understand what you are saying, but by mission 2 they alrdy started with better weapon's tech than I do What I was talking about was regular games not the campaign, sorry for the confusion.
Im going to start mission 3 now, I better get a good "challenge" this time, but I doubt it since the altarians are said to be helping so theyll keep em busy I guess for a while. Just get past mission 3 and your gonna start facing the dread lords, that's when you get a challenge. They got fighters that do 250 or more damage, and soldering of like
This seems to happen a lot to me since I read a post about this same topic. I used esponaige and looked at the conversation screen, and I found out that everytime the AI does this they haven't researched any weapon tech, I think they are just supposed to build defenders even if they don't have weapons. Also everytime this has happened I was playing on tough or above.
The games not that hard on tough, if the AI is doing better than you it's not because they cheated, probably had more planets nearby, and besides, the AI doesn't get tired, or bored, so they'll micromanage every little detail ( although they really suck at fleet cordination and planet managment). Also don't worry about they're economy, after a half-year they won't even have the cash they had at the beggining, and whoa once they start building they're military, they're usually in the negatives.
In my games I don't usually build many scouts, but the ones that I do, they seem to try to explore as little space as possible. Lazy Columbus wannabes!
Starbases should be capturable. You should be able to transport garnisons on them, and they would have a huge advantage of defense, but it would be possible to capture ressource starbases (or military, or influence). Off course, a simple wipe would also be an option. That would be great, and besides what's the chance that a starbase is gonna hav
