I agree that you should be able to build more starports, it's really annoying that my main planet for building ships, that i'm making destroyers at the same rate as dumb little fighters, it's also annoying that I have to wait a month just to get a small fleet of fighters. And I would like for the enemys to be able to build multiple ships on one planet, to me the AI seems to never declare war unless you wait forever, and I don't like waiting that long just to try out my shiny new battleship, and

Will the dead beaten horse, known as multiplayer, ever be allowed to rest in peace? Everyone keeps digging that dead horse out of the ground and keeps beating it.
Happy birthday!
Does anyone else notice how the enemy won't sell their flagship even if you give them all your money, ships, planets, and influence. i,m thinking "god it's just a little shitty survey ship with a different name.
Must be one hell of a player.
That's not how it's gonna happen, all the bugs will evolve into humanoids, and the humans will devolve into canaballistic mutants, that will hide in desert hills and ambush bugs and eat them.
Hahahaha!!!! I just read a handfull of those bad gamspot reviews and I was appaled by those guy's ignorance. " Oh the games too wordy" and "the tutorials are too complicated and the manueles too long". They're gonna have a hard time in school when they have too actually read a real book. They're gonna complain to their teachers, "hey this history book has too many words". Guess their gonna be serving my fries and burgers at burger king, if they aren't already.
They seem to value cheaper designs Usually they just seem to research less military techs, in one recent game I was at war with the iconians and they had only reseached to lasers 2 for their ships while I had phasors, and I was playing on challenging.
If you have the economy to support the extra ships or have few enough planets, it's worth having a little extra insurance, and besides your ships get bonus to attack power while it's in orbit. But yeah just pay attention to your borders and space and no enemy can break through.
Elder Scrolls IV outsold it Yeah but Oblivion outsold pretty much everything, And it didn't have multiplayer. So what's your point? And with muiltiplayer, that's not only beating a dead horse, that's draging the buried horse out of the ground and beating it, just when you thought the dead horse could rest in peace. And besides
He's probably laughing at you , i'd invade him if I was you. [Moderator: enough with the discriminatory comments.]
Dude have you seen the omega ship pack downloads in the library? ya gotta see them, they rock!
so how you call it when Drengin get something shiny and new? I asume they kill something.
Military starbases otoh, Dont seem....very practicall for several reasons. One, its takes a huge investment of time and resouces to build them up-even one semi decent milbase is a lot of work. Secondly, and this is more important. Due to the 'wide-open' nature of the map, when at war, the enemy simply bypasses them and they dont really serve as either a front line of defen
I usually select custom race from the race selection menu in the game, don't do anything just save the race, then quit, open the galciv2 folder in my docs, open the saved custom race file with notepad and then your free to screw with it however I want.
I make a “cheap” starbase outside the range of enemy fighters. How do ya know what their range is?
I'm not even gonna say anything.
" Evil will always triumph, because good is dumb".
A massive near undefeateble ship wouldn't be a that great, it would either be too unbalancing or it would be usless, you can easily kill most starbases and large ships in one hit with a few doom rays on the ship (even if the enemy has good defense).
pwned Why the hell do people say pwned on the internet? That's not even slang that's just butchering the english language, it doesn't look cool and you can't even pronounce it.
But at Laser V, it get the full to the full 7, and once you get Plasma, it goes even further. That would be great having a weapon on that levels up with technology, would defenitly replace all the near usless starbase forticication tech ( who really likes having to send 40 constructors to a starbase just to have the enemy think twice about destro
I know you can unlock more base hulls You can unlock base hulls???!!!
Dude you should try bribing a civ to go to war with another civ, I love to put the galaxy in one massive civil war while I just sit back and watch them destroy each other.
nobody is stopting you, I think Yeah but I like to read the forums everyday. It's almost like the newspaper to me.
The kicker -- its a PQ5 planet... ARRGH! I know your pain man, one game I found a planet with the 700% production bonus but it was on a PQ4 planet, and to top it off it was so far from my borders that there was almost no use in using it to build ships, now it's just a piece of shit I ignore.
