Dear derek I am sure that you will find here (see link: an official thread!) everything you are looking for. No need for contests when you've got at your disposal such a mine of ideas/suggestions/lists/mechanisms as this forum. It's becoming tiring to see Stardock wanting to look cool by asking time and again the same things. STOP ASKING! You've got all the cards in your hands; now create the game or throw the towel, the
Nope. That obviously isn't going to work. That must be why the points were commented out. But why weren't they deleted when they clearly don't work? I hate that. The developer who wrote the original ZOC code hasn't worked here for over 5 years, so there is no target for my crankiness. I commented out those lines again in case I needed them for reference and stared at the edge calculation co

I couldn't believe it when I first heard Elemental wouldn't have races in the same way MOM or MOO does. Despite it being "the lore" I have a feeling this has to do with the art budget. If you look at Elemental there just aren't very many different models in it. I still secretly hope that Stardock will scrap the lore and just start over with unique races like MOM or any other great fantasy TBS.

Demigod can be really fun in singleplayer although the AI will never match a human opponent. I'd say its worth it for 6 bucks. Demigod could have been a smash hit if it wasn't for some technical issues with multiplayer at launch.

After reading this list I am looking forward to playing Elemental again when patch 1.1 comes out. I haven't played since 1.06 since most of the changes have been performance related and I never had too many issues in that department anyway. Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction.

I haven't played since 1.06. I had some fun with the game when it first came out but after a while you realize there are too many problems to make this game worth playing. I've been monitoring the forums and I can see most of the problems I had with the game haven't been fixed yet. I'm not sure that 1.1 will fix them either. Stardock is going to fix things eventually but at the current pace it may take a year or so. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I've been playing this for the past few weeks and really enjoying it. The best part is that you can make hybrid classes by choosing from various subclass. The dynamic event system is great and really puts some pressure on you to complete 'just one more quest.'

I would wait. Some are saying that it will be worth it in the long run. If that's the case then why not wait until the game is improved? The game is not getting any more expensive than it is today. Wait for Civ 5 and check back in a few months. That's what I would have done if I hadn't preordered already.

Like many others, this review rings true for me. I feel ripped off for $50. This is a $20 game, which is not what I expected based on my previous experience with Stardock. I'm hanging on to it in the hopes that it will become a $50 down the line. I don't see that happening for a few months from now at least. It's sad to see Elemental alongside the ranks of games like South Park: Chef's Luv Shack .

Most reviewers are reviewing 1.06 and say so in their reviews. I mostly agree with what's been said. Gameshark: "The world is generic..." "A fireball does less damage than your average sword..." "The tactical battles are never very interesting because so many of the units are basic melee guys and you will have run roughshod over the map before you get to anything interesting. If you use the auto-resolve, the attack rating will be all you need to
Quoting joasoze, reply 5The bad thing here is that I see nothing in the game that stops infinite city spamming Well, for one, on a finite sized map, there is only so much space in which to build these cities. It also means, you have to put more into defending those cities, so that's more resources tied up. You also may spread yourself thin, which means those cities are more vulnerable to being taken over. Plus, if

I've gone back to HOMM 3 and Dominions 3 until Elemental gets a few more patches. Dominions 3 is an amazing game if you've never played it. Obviously there is a demo so check if it's your style before you buy. There are no tactical battles. Basically, you give orders to your troops and they automatically duke it out. You can watch the battles and it can be pretty fun to do so. Giant battles between undead and huge gorilla men anyone? It's definitely a deep and complex strategy game. T

The reason that the forums may have seemed to be filled with a lot of 'yes men' was because any thread that claimed the game was being rushed out the door was locked. It was basically a taboo subject. Personally, I half believed the game was going to be finished based on Brad's remarks that the development build was lightyears ahead of beta 4. Although, the fact that they were locking these kind of threads came across as suspicious and insecure.
100% agree... Also... why cant i destroy cities? On tiny maps the AI just builds allot of small cities next to my borders and sometimes between two of my major cities... SO i just have to conquere them and i get stuck with a small crappy city i rather burn!
You can. Research the warfare tech that allows you to raze cities. Click 'more' on the city UI and then raze.<
My biggest issue is that there needs to be more transparency on what some of the abilities even do. For example civilized is suppose to make it cheaper to build a city, but as far as I can tell there is no cost for that other than the pioneer unit. Death magic is supposed to give units +10 hp but I can't tell if it's even working or how to get it working. Better descriptions or tool tips explaining the actual mechanics behind all the abilities would

Organized and tracker are good. The research points options are just too expensive to justify to me (if you have left over points they are fine). Some of the weaknesses are nice, especially the ones that have no effect as long as you stay out of cities. Most of the spell books are useless because of weak magic. The best spell in the game is teleport. The only real reason to take spell books is for summons. I like taking a sovereign with high wis (for teleport) dex, con
