Here's the game's minimum requirements: System Requirements: Windows XP/Vista 1 GHz Processor 512 MB Free System RAM 64 MB DirectX 9.0c 3D Video Card 1 GB Hard Drive Space DirectX 9.0c Internet connection required for multiplayer and updates. Your Operating System, processor speed, DirectX version, video card and video card memory all look good. So if you have enough free hard drive space
The game will probably work, but we'll need to know a few more of your PC specs. Do me a favor and answer the following questions (please, get the answer from the DirectX Diagnostic Tool which can be accessed by: Start->Run then type dxdiag ): (from the "System" tab) OPERATING SYSTEM: PROCESSOR: MEMORY: DirectX VERSION: (from the "Display" tab) VIDEO C

It should give you a "recommended" amount when you go to change it. This is their recommended minimum . As an example, on my laptop (which also has an ATI video card - though its a X600 while yours is an X300), the recommended amount is 765MB, but I have it set to 2048MB.
Do you guys have any more ideas?
Yeah, actually. Now that you've updated the game (and hopefully increased your virtual memory) let's see the contents of your new debug.err (since it gets overwritten each time you run the game).
Debug Message: Version 1.00
He's also running an older version the game. Kriznak8, you should use Impulse to update to the latest version of the game, in addition to increasing your virtual memory, like codecritter pointed out. Impulse is our application downloader/updater. It would have installed when you installed the game. It should already be on your computer. If not, go here: Impulse Website and do
Kriznak, It's better if you start your own post about the problem you are having describing what happens and when. More people will read it that way and be able to help you. Also post the contents of your debug.err file into your post after you describe the problem. This file has specific information that could help us track down the problem. The debug.err file can be opened with notepad, and it is located here: "Documents\My Games\PolMachine2008\debug.err"<
I was camping this weekend, so I played some horseshoes and some ladderball. Also played with some fireworks! No video games for me - though I would have liked to get a bit of gaming in. Maybe some rock band on the 360, or school some noobs in PM2008. ;)
I simply meant reply #23 above. The rest of you have done the best you can it seems, it's just that his solution is irrelevent given the full context of the discussion. So one of you misread and hopefully he won't do it again. (and everyone does make the occasional mistake anyway)

The Impulse install is after the regular game install, so no impulse either.
Yeah, the point of my link to download impulse is that you don't need the retail disc a
Cheat Code Central gives Political Machine 2008 a whirl and scores it a 3.8/5.0 (76%). Here's an excerpt: "Whether you have a passing interest in politics or are hardcore about your choice of candidate, The Political Machine 2008 is highly enjoyable regardless of your political leanings." haha, cool man. Let us know how you like the game, or if you have any technical issues with it.
Can you guys update to the latest version of the game and then see if things are working correctly. Let us know by posting here. If they are not, then repost your debug.err file - including the beginning part of it, which has PC specs we'll need to know.
Are you using the retail disc to install the game? Or are you using Impulse? If you are not using Impulse, try it and see if you can get the game to install. You can get Impulse at this site . After you get Impulse and can install the game, stop over to this thread and let us know your PC stats and whether the game is working or not. Thanks, C
it says I dont have 512 MB of memory [...]I have 502 mb ram
Well, 502 is less than 512. I agree that it's best to get more ram. If you can't right now, I've seen people reporting here on the forums that although they do have 512 MB of ram, since they have an integrated video card it uses a small amount of it, 8-10 MB usually. So when the installer from the retail PM2008 disc goes to install, it thinks t
Hrmm, I'd try un-installing the game within Impulse, restarting your computer, and then re-installing the game with Impulse. Let us know if that does anything for ya.
Version 1.02 last updated on: Wed Jun 18 10:47:55 2008
Can you update to the latest version of the game and see if it is still happening. If so, repost your new debug.err file. Thanks, C
Where is this impulse thing? I have more than enough memory left. I spent $20 on this game.
If you already bought the game at a store, then you can install off the retail disc and it'll install Impulse for you (if I remember correctly). Then you use it to get updates. If you bought the game digitally from our website, then you should have gotten some kind of email confirmation that tells you how to download the game (ie. get impulse). Here's where you ca
That's pretty cool. :)
does the game work for intel celeron
Intel Celeron is a processor and there are many different types of Celeron processors. The game requires a processor speed of at least 1 GHz and recommends 2 GHz. So as long as the particular Celeron is at or better than the minimum speed of 1 GHz AND you meet or exceed the rest of the minimum requirements then the game will run. System Requirements
I'm interested in seeing the PC Specs of our PM2008 userbase. Whether the game works perfectly for you or not, please stop over to this thread and let us know what your specs are. Thank you.
Stardock people have been saying this must mean your video card does not support Shader Model 2.0. I have an Intel 82865G video card. [...]How am I still getting a white screen?
You're getting a white screen because your card does not support Shader 2.0, see this link to the relevant intel webpage that shows this. Also, the game's minimum requirements state that it needs a "DirectX 9.0c 3D Video
I don't remember off hand if we purposely let the other HQ's give you access to more issues in the state that you build the HQ. But you're right, that is what is happening.
there is little reason to build a Campaign HQ anywhere
Well, you do get money from each Campaign HQ, and the amount you get is increased each time you upgrade the HQ. So there's that.
Even if you're not in New York, you should still go through the trouble of sending the letter. Just change the auto-generated text to say that although you are not a resident of the state of NY, it's still a waste of taxpayer's money. That's what I did. :CONGRAT:
I'd like to point out that right next to the score is the Editor's Choice badge. :D
